Perfect for road trips
We bought them for a long road trip to Baton Rouge for a baseball tournament. Loved that they didn’t take up a lot of space and we could fill them up with ice from the hotel. So convenient and easy. It also came in handy in the heat when we were out of water. Great product

Water tight ice bags
The bags worked fairly well but no, the ice does not last 24 hours. It does not leak so that is a positve.I purchased these bags because I was going to travel nearly 24 hours and wanted to keep my food from spoiling. I got these bags several weeks before my trip so I could test them. I found that the icebags place in the cooler and left inside the apartment lasted about 12 hours but if I left the cooler outside in the cold weather then 24 hours was possible. I was traveling in a car so by testing I knew that I would need to place the bag in the freezer at the hotel or I would have to empty it and refill with ice. The bags worked for me but don't count on 24 hours of ice retention. They worked out ok for me because testing before hand told me what to expect. Please note, I did freeze water in the bag so it was a big chunk, not ice cubes. I did not test ice cubes.

Great product!
Great product!! Works exactly as described. So far have taken them camping full of ice and had cold water all day, as well as taking out on the paddleboard frozen and nice cold water all day again!! Highly recommend!

Convenient for families
Actively on a camping vacation and these have been a lifesaver in the heat. We stop at the convenience store for a 7lb bag of ice at the start of the day and fill up the bags.We store them in a backpack cooler and refill our water bottles throughout the day. We are really squishing them in, side by side, and the seams haven't popped or anything. At the end of the day, any leftover cold water / ice is laid ontop of the food in the big cooler for fresh cold water in the morning. My kids also love to drink directly out of the pour spout and are now routinely asking for the "bag water" 🤣

Works as promised!
I bought these ice bags before a weeklong National Parks trip. Although we weren't going to be camping, I wanted to bring enough food to ensure that we could eat lunches on the trail and cook a few dinners at a picnic spot, without having to pay the high prices for groceries inside the parks. I bought these on a whim after reading the reviews and am super happy with how they worked. During the trip I kept one bag in a Yeti 45 cooler (inside our cabin) and the other bag in a smaller collapsible cooler (inside our car during the day) for drinks. They were incredibly easy to use and worked exactly as described. I changed out the ice in our hard cooler every 24 hours, even though it was usually only about 1/3 melted. The ice in our less insulated collapsible cooler melted completely by the evening, but allowed us to top up our water bottles with ice cold water during the day. The bag did not leak, the close-top handle was easy to use and was strong enough to handle the weight of a bag of ice, and the pour spout worked just fine. I probably filled each bag up about 6-7 times during the trip and the bags didn't split or tear. I am not sure how long something like this will last, but will definitely buy more when my current bags wear out because they work, are convenient, and mean less mess in the cooler. I can only think of 2 small considerations to be aware of if you use these bags: When full, the bags have a sort of rounded shape which made it a little hard to distribute items evenly in the cooler and probably wasted some space; and for smaller hard sided coolers, the handle part was too wide for me to lay the bag in horizontally. I had to lay the bag in vertically, fold the top down and arrange the spout so it wasn't smashed. Not a deal breaker, just something that needed to be worked around. Really fabulous product.

More like leak resistant …
Bottom line:- Not leakproof, more like leak resistant. The bags need to be completely flat with handle totally undisturbed to prevent leaking. So for a tightly packed cooler or fridge, expect minor leaks.Pros: 1) Less water in the cooler or fridge and thus less hassle with after-melt cleanup; 2) water conservation: enables drinking or cooking with the melt water; 3) bag handles facilitate transport of ice, about 5 lbs ice per bag; and 4) durable plastic suggests it should last several trips.Cons: 1) Water has a very high specific heat which means it stabilizes temperatures very well; so the absence of melt water throughout the cooler means more temperature variation among its contents; (2) the bags do leak despite carefully following the instructions (fold and slide handle in one direction, do not fill ice above fill line, etc. So a more accurate description IMHO is “leak resistant” versus “leakproof” in real-world conditions (I.e., tightly packed cooler); 3) the rigid handles limit the bag’s ability to conform in tight spaces. For example, when filled with its maximum of 5 lbs of ice, this bag did not fit inside a Yeti 45 cooler.Minor quibble. We received two versions. One had clearly printed instructions on the handle and bag, the other two did not. Adding those instructions was a good product design upgrade, as it ensured optimum leak resistance.Thoughts. These probably work better in traditional larger rectangular coolers like the venerable Igloo brand. For highly perishable items, I’m thinking the trade off between convenience (melt water capture) may come at the expense of faster spoilage, especially on a multi-day trip. Where these bags did come in handy was packing our marine refrigerator on a 4-day trip. Four bags reduced compressor cycling and thus conserved batteries between charging. And not having lots of melt water in the refrigerator is a huge plus. That said, some of the bags did leak, some more than others, but not more than 5-10% of its capacity. Capturing the melt water was a plus too, which we used for washing dishes, flushing the marine toilet, etc. Our marine fridge has a drain and manual foot pump to remove the little water that did accumulate so leakage was not a huge issue.Bottom line. These bags did not work as intended for our Yeti 45, but we did find use for our marine refrigerator (reduced cycling, conserve batteries). Had I not found a use for them in our marine fridge, I would have returned them for refund.
