I bought this specifically for a Simmons SD500 electronic drum kit for which I, ah, misplaced the power supply which came with the unit (very frustrated and still trying to find it). It fits the 9V adapter and the polarity seems to match. My only gripe (hence the 4 stars instead of a "perfect" 5) is that the cord does not seem very robust, and I was hoping it would be longer. It is plenty long to reach under the front of the set, but I would have liked a bit more play. It's very thin and seems that it will not hold up to long use, but so far, it has amply solved my problem. If you need this for any other application where a 9V adapter is required, it should be good (check the polarity and the amperage first), but I can say with authority that the Simmons SD500 is working properly with this power supply.

This 9v AC/DC adapter - billed as "compatible with Simmons SD5K" digital drum kit - unfortunately induced audible mid-frequency noise into the Simmons amplifier. So, it has been returned in favor of a different product also alleged to be compatible with the SD5K.

Has power on indicator light. Functions as expected. Arrived when expected. My electronic drum kit now works!
