Excellent shower filter — noticeable difference!
The Aquasana AQ-4100 shower filter really improves water quality. My hair feels softer, and my skin is less dry after just a few uses. Easy to install, looks clean in white, and provides a refreshing shower experience. Totally worth it!

HONEST REVIEW
UPDATE** Ok so its been HARDLY 2 months and my hair came back to being super dry and tangled like a whole big dreadlock, the filter lost ALL its properties in less than 2 months!! And my household is JUST MY HUSBAND AND ME, and we only take 5 minutes to shower! So what about bigger households with kids or more than 2 people?? I went back to spending 30 minuts or more detangling and my hair started to fall off again like crazy, I can see the efect on the filter is gone so I am sad it doesnt last what it promises it's supposed to last which is 6 months! So are we supposed to buy this every 2 months? If it was cheaper I would think about it but it is NOT. So sad because I really loved it and took the time to write the most large review I have written in my whole life. *** I just bought my 3rd replacement for this filter and I can say with all honesty all of them (the same replacement, this is the 3rd one already) lasted hardly 2 months, in less than two months my hair comes back to dreadlocks and breaks with white spots on the ends. Very sad it’s SO expensive for less than 2 months while being advertised as 6 months! The product does work the first 2 months as My hair immediately looks softer, detangled and the shedding stops a lot but after 2 months I can feel the hard water again and I don’t have a particularly hard water just the regular one in Chicago. And I repeat: it’s just me and my husband taking showers of 5 minutes each! If we had a bigger family or took longer showers we would be basically had filter for only 1 month. Very disappointed on the product they should make it WAY MORE AFFORDABLE SINCE IT DOESNT LAST EVEN HALF OF THE TIME FRAME THEY SAY. _____________________ OK so I have been waiting since I bought this filter to write my honest review and I want to be VERY HONEST AND SPECIFIC/DETAILED ABOUT IT: • I come from a city outside USA where we had nearly the best tap water there is, in my native country we have very large hair and until then I have never heard about hard water nor had any issue with it drying my skin and hair. • So that being said, since I moved to USA my hair (naturally very abundant and voluminous) started to fall off on bunches!! it was SCARY and within months I had 8x times less than what I had before, I tried every treatment, oils etc etc thinking that maybe I hadn't had the nutrients I needed on my scalp, but it never stoped and got worst, for the first time I had DANDRUFF in a very thick layer AND THE WORST started to happen, my hair started to TANGLE together in a big ball of dreadlocks like a rastafarian, it was sooo dry and it didnt matter how much conditioner, treatments I put on it, or how much I combed it, when I did it just broke off and on the next day it would be all tangled again. • SO THEN I started reading it was maybe because of the water, I realized it had never happened to me before and it maybe had something to do with it, so I bought TWO different filters from other brands and the 5 first showers I noticed a slight improvement but after that, my hair got worst like I was putting new harmful chemicals in addition on the ones that my hard water already had! Those two filters I bought on amazon, the first one was by a brand cold MXBOLD and the other one was AQUABLISS, I am not going to say those are bad, but they definatelly didnt work for me and my specific hard water, the Aquabliss was the one that got my problem worst and I was afraid I was going to get bold on that rithm of sheding, I even saw some white hard residues starting to form over the shower head that later I read it was because of the calcium/hard water plus the filter elements they put inside and I tought this might be forming on my head as well. • So then, I decided to buy this AQUASANA filter which I was doubting so much because of the price, but I am here to say that it was my best decision ever, from the very first shower my hair stoped shedding as it was doing before, like I used to shed more than 200 hairs on each shower and bunch of them each day, but with this filter it stopped! My scalp doesnt itch as much and MY HAIR STOPPED TANGLING LIKE RASTAS! That one for me was the most clear signal that the filter was working, my hair still tangles more than it does on my native country which has the best water but hey, at least it looks way more healthy and shiny that it has been since I came to USA, now people compliments me on my hair (something that didnt happen before) and I do feel better about it now for alllll the reasons I have wrote here. So if you are a woman or a man that like me is looking desperately for a GOOD filter that actually works because of your hair shedding to an extreme, I suggest trying this one (also taking biotin pills and taking a look at some vitamins you might be lacking, like iron for example: lack of iron makes the hair fall)

Works Great & MADE IN THE USA
The scientific consensus is clear, hard water is not good for you. This Aquasana filter is good for you! That said, this filter does NOT spout water as pure as the day the Earth first formed. What it does is remove the vast majority (Aquasana cites 90%) of chlorine and other compounds you would rather not have on your skin or hair. You can truly feel the difference. I am positive there are other filtration systems that will remove more, but I also imagine for the vast majority of us this is exactly what we need. The Good: +Works very well. +Price-point is good. +Does NOT leak so long as it's installed properly (just needs to be tightened). +MADE IN THE USA The Okay: =Filter does not last 6-months. Closer to 4-months if about 2 people are using it daily. This is a wonderful little filtration system that is affordable and works well. If you have sensitive skin you absolutely should invest in this. Even if you do not have particularly sensitive skin, this really helps keep your skin and hair clean from chemicals. With regards to leaking, there really is no problem -- just like all shower heads it needs to be properly inserted and tightened -- all straightforward. The filter does need to be replaced about every 4 months rather than 6, but the benefits are absolutely worth it. Bottom Line: if you want a better and more pleasant shower experience then this investment is 100% worth it.

Great quality filter, weird design
Have been using the Aquansana line of countertop water filters for years so was happy to see they also make shower filters. More expensive than basic ones but I see this as a definite step up in filtration - including drugs, pesticides, microplastics and other unwanted chemicals. Design could be improved to not be so clunky and difficult to install and no need for aerators or such to slow the water flow. Bought this to filter water, did not buy a low flow showerhead. I like to take quick, efficient showers and not have to stand there for 20 minutes to rinse off like an idiot. No to low flow!

It will save your dry hair, your dry skin and your relationship!
OMG!!! Thank you to this product for saving my dry hair, my dry skin, and my relationship!! So, I live with my boyfriend in his house, in an area with very hard water. Most people here have reverse osmosis, and exchange tanks or whole house water filtration. That's how bad the water is here. I begged him to put in a whole house filtration system, but he didn't want it at his house. He says there is nothing wrong with the water, and doesn't give a darn.. (Although he was the one who tried four different cleaning products on the guest bathroom glass door shower after his boys were here for three months, trying to remove the water spots. And the water here is fine... hmmm) He wouldn't go for the exchange tanks either. So now, either I figure something out for myself as far as the shower goes, (I buy my own ice and bottled water, he uses the tap and yucky freezer ice), or I am moving out. Who knew crappy water could end a relationship! But that's how much I hate it. Finally, after researching my options, I found out that they make shower head filters. DING DING!!! I was sooo excited. This unit kept coming up in my research in the top 10, mostly in the top five and above, over and over again. When it arrived, I asked him if I could put it in the shower. He said no. I asked if I could put it in the guest shower. He said YES! I installed it myself, it was very easy and quick, less than 10 minutes. The next morning when I used it, I could not believe the difference! My hair is so much softer, and no longer dry, my skin is softer, I don't have to use shower lotion, and extra strength lotion after showering. I love it so much, I told my boyfriend he cannot use it. I want the filter to last as long a possible. It's only for me!! Pros: It does not change the water pressure in any way It is very easy and quick to install It definitely changes the water, and makes it softer Cons: You cannot move the shower head around. Where ever it sprays, that's what you get. I would like to point mine downward a little, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I didn't know at the time that they made one with a wand. Some might like that model better. (That one would have been better for my dog too)

Defective manufacture
Manufacturing defect. Leaked although installed properly. Filter thread cap not aligned with filter body. One might want to consider a different brand based on the trouble I had, a real headache. Threw the whole thing away and replaced with something different. Excuse the expression, but about $70 down the drain.

Great Filter Well Water
We live in a rental home on a well. I'm not sure what awful things are in our water, but it tasted and smells horrible. After showering my skin would itch and have a slight burning sensation. I bought a Brita pitcher for drinking water and started looking for a filter for the shower. I read many reviews on various sites and decided on the Aquasana filter. We have had it installed a little more than a month now and I am 100% pleased with this product. The minute the water flow is changed from the bath faucet to the shower head, the smell is gone. The water feels wonderful on my skin and my teenage son is back to taking long showers. No more itchy or painful skin. Our problem isn't chlorine as it doesn't come from a city system; I'm not sure what it is but the Aquasana is filtering it out. I want to also mention the shower head. It isn't anything especially fancy, but it is adjustable and the spray has a nice feel to it. I was worried that we might not receive good pressure since the water is going through a filter and then through a small head, but that isn't the case. It gives good pressure and I don't feel that I am getting cheated on the amount of water that hits me in the shower. I purchased my unit here on Amazon and got a great price along with free shipping on my Amazon Prime. I am extremely happy with my purchase in every way and highly recommend the Aquasana if you want great results in a shower filter.

Compared Aquasana 4100 to Aquabliss SF220...here's what I found
Hello, Fellow Shower Shoppers, I just moved and was trying to replace my beloved TerraSpa shower filter from years ago, to get the nasty chlorine out of my life (I use a PUR filter on my drinking water). Apparently TerraSpa is no more, so the search started all over. After reading a lot of reviews and ratings (on and off of Amazon) on these two products, Aquabliss and Aquasana, I ordered both and installed both, one in each bathroom shower, and compared. Here's what I found in my personal experience and preferences. THE UNITS Aquasana is large visually, and about 3 pounds, so it's hefty. The Aquabliss is about half that at 1.6 pounds and considerably shorter and less visually intrusive. They both use great multi-stage filtration, but the real work horse in both is the KDF-55. Aquabliss adds calcium sulfite and activated carbon on top of that, while Aquasana employs coconut carbon as their added "secret sauce." INSTALLATION They both require Teflon tape (super easy) for all threads, like all shower attachments do. You will not need a wrench for the Aquabliss as it hand tightens. You WILL need a wrench for the Aquasana. You will need to flush both of them to get rid of the excess carbon (the gunky black stuff). I would flush any filter like this for about 2 minutes on cold, then at least 2 minutes on hot, and do the shut off/turn on with the water at least three times as it is the initial rush of water that needs to be clear before use. I found that one big difference in design is that you can use any shower head you like with the Aquabliss as it does not affect your choice due to its straight design. The Aquasana on the other hand, comes with its own shower head, which while nice and adjustable, is non-negotiable. I tried using my old Moen shower head on the Aquasana, but the design won't allow for it. If this matters to you, that might be a deal breaker right away. EFFECTIVENESS As far as chlorine smells goes, they are similar in their reduction, but to my ridiculously sensitive nose, the Aquabliss seemed to be fainter, and a bit cleaner smelling. I then showered with both, same shampoos/soaps, same temps, and again, very close water feel. As we all should know by now, those pool tests and strip tests are a bit useless for shower filters, so I wasn't even going to waste my time (and yours) going there. So, here's what I decided. Since the feels are similar, and the materials are both top notch, but the Aquabliss smells better TO ME, it comes down to cost, ease of installation, and flexibility of shower heads. Replacement filters for Aquasana cost more than the original unit at $52 here. Plus, you are replacing pretty much the ENTIRE base of the unit. Aquabliss costs just $15 and you are only replacing the inside filter. Aquabliss is the winner, at least for my needs. Hope this helps you all figure out your choices a little better.
