Really love this thing
Most people would say I'm a coffee snob. I own 5 French Presses- 3 insulated (including this one) and 2 glass, 2 V60s, 1 chemex, 2 fancy electric grinders and 1 proper espresso machine. I've been making over 350 presses a year for over 10 years. I only buy quality coffee and measure every single of my brews. If this is you, keep reading.I bought this Stanley for travel convenience. Over the years I've never really found a travel brewer that satisfied me. Presses are too big to travel with, drippers aren't full body and I don't manage to get a consistent outcome out of them, and while aeropress seems to solve some of this, I've just never been attracted to it. With a month long travel this spring, I thought it was time to try something new. But this press exceeded my expectations. What I'm most surprised about is that this isn't just a great travel brewer, it's also a really good French press for a couple reasons. I will dare to say that I like it better than the ones I already own. What comes out of this press is some of the best coffee I make, and I attribute this to the filter that doesn't let any residue through with my recipe and stops the brewing when pressed into a puck, and the smaller size which seems to yield better (or at least more consistent) results for me than a bigger press. What makes the filter great is that it seems to have a tighter fit around the sides than most other presses out there, and the screen is also really fine, which makes it that a lot less small particules make it through. You're just not drinking mud in your last few sips even though the coffee ground is still there at the bottom.Besides the coffee, it's also a pretty awesome mug. The cap is just a smart design. I like how it pulls back and you can drink out of it without either holding your cap or having it stain your nose (if you know you know). Here is the best way I found to make coffee with it for those who are curious. You're on the go so no scale but I put around 3 to 3,5 table spoons of quality light roast coffee (pre-grounded because I hate manual grinders and I travel light). Pour boiling water over it and don't touch it for around 8-10min (no stirring, let the ground float up). After that time, give it a stir. You'll end up with a yellowish foam on top- scoop that out, it makes your coffee bitter. Then let it sit for a little while with the lid open. Let the grounds settle at the bottom and the drink cool off a little bit (it stays warm pretty long with the insulated body). After another 10-15 minutes, you can very slowly press it and start drinking. If you're on the fence about this one, this is ~$35 well spent

Not entirely dishwasher safe *** hand wash the lid!!! ***
Item: Stanley Classic Travel Press 16oz ... Dishwasher SafeSeller: Amazon.comTl;Dr: Technically not completely dishwasher safe, and Stanley did provide support for me, but they might not for you.Edit:Went over the insert again - there is a line indicating that component parts are not covered. There is however no label indicating which part is the component, and which is the main. So, from that wording, it's quite possible that only the screen (the plunger can be separated into two parts) is covered as it is what makes the item a French Press instead of just another tumbler. Surprisingly, the insert/manual is not available as a PDF - hopefully it's legible in my pic.Original:Stanley's claim that the press is dishwasher safe? Kinda - the lid has a set of gaskets that can be undone from the jets in your dishwasher. While one of the gaskets is large enough so that you'll probably still find it at the bottom at the end of the cycle, the center one that covers the dimple in the middle is small enough to simply get flushed down the drain. This is what happened to me...So, I reached out to Stanley figuring all they had to send me was a super tiny silicone gasket, but after speaking with Codolia N, they ended up sending an entirely new press. However, she said that this was an exception since the Lid was not covered under their lifetime warranty. I double checked the insert, and it doesn't mention anywhere that the lid is excluded from the warranty. It also doesn't specify that only the main body and plunger is dishwasher safe either.I'm giving a 5 star review because I got taken care of, but if you experience problems and happen to meet a not so great Stanley employee, then... good luck? Also - I'd hand wash the lid to avoid this issue entirely. Other than that - the press is pretty great and if you fill to just below the indicated line, you'll never have to deal with tidbits of coffee grounds in your pressed coffee. I'm not sure if other reviewers have mentioned this, but the internal press itself can be disassembled for better cleaning.

Easy to use. Keeps drinks hot. Does not leak.
I've had this mug for 2 weeks now. Use it almost everyday. I make coffee and tea in it. Here's some things I found out.1. 1st time I used it, I warmed the mug and while steeping my coffee, I put the lid on top keep the heat in. It kept my drink so hot I couldn't drink it for 3 hrs.2. This is what I do now. I don't warm the mug. I put in my scoop of coffee or tea. With tea leaves I add my sugar then pour over hot water to three bottom of the Stanley wording on the outside of mug. After sleeping, I slower lower the plunger, add my liquid creamer to the lip before the threads for lid. Put on lid and the movement from going from counter to bag to vehicle to work, the sugar, creamer and tea or coffee is perfectly shook up.This is very easy to clean. And doesn't leak. And for my next trip, no bad hotel coffee.

Makes a great cold brew coffee
Absolutely love this. Bought it to make coffee on the boat. However, I since learned about cold brewing coffee. Which this does perfectly. Haven’t made hot coffee in it yet, but it’s a daily cold brew for me! Love it! Cleaning the grinds out is a bit of a task since there isn’t a disposable filter like a normal coffee pot, but even so, I highly recommend this.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST
This is the absolute best, I ordered multiple! I typically HATE drinking coffee out of travel mugs because I can't stand the lids, but this one is perfect. and the fact that it is also a French press is pure magic.

Work as it should
We tried it this morning, it works great as it says, like a normal French press. The size is pretty good, about half amount of my normal ikea French press. Like one and half mug of coffee. But at the bottom there's a scratch. It's there when we open it. It looks new unused and we need it this weekend. We're keeping it. But just wanted to say There's a scratch, not affect the functionality.
