First there are no lights. You have to buy your own. I used a light from a old Christmas decorations that plugs in. Just be sure if you're using a light bulb not to let it touch the star because it is paper.It is so cute! It gives off just the right amount of light that you can leave it on all night. It gives a great ambience and for paper it's very sturdy

I was worried about the reviews saying that the lanterns were flimsy and easily ripped, but I have not found that to be the case. The paper is thick, and as long as you're careful and don't pull by the strings, they won't rip. The colors are rich and lovely. I got the "turquoise" color, though it's definitely more of a teal - which is what I wanted anyway. I love how they take on several different looks throughout the day - whether the light is on or off. Very whimsical and lovely. It came with two plastic pieces that I assume were to protect the lanterns from the lightbulb, but I there were no instructions, so I was unclear what to do with them. We have LED bulbs (purchase separately) that don't get hot to the touch, so I'm not too worried, so hung them without the plastic inserts. There is plenty of room inside so the bulbs don't hit the edges, so I feel like it's pretty safe. Very happy with my purchase!

Colors are deep and beautiful! Would buy again.

I bought two of these to replace some older paper star lanterns in my classroom. Other staff members noticed right away because these are lovely. Just be careful and slow when you are fully opening the stars and you should have no problem (I mean, they *are* paper).

So cute! I was also able to put my hue lightbulb in to the light attachment I purchased so I’m able to change its colors.

So I ordered this and when I went to open it up, it easily tore down the seams. I have two others of a different brand without this issue. The paper feels much softer. I had it replaced but the second one ripped too. I was too lazy to go through the return process again so I taped it up and just made sure to turn it where you can't see the tape. That being said, it is the prettiest of the 3 I did get.
