Mann-Filter CU 8430 Cabin Filter for select BMW models

Since buying my vehicle, I never changed the filters. The original was dirty and this was a bargain and easy to replace. The quality seems similar to the original. It fits nicely and does the job.

This worked out great for my wife's 2015 BMW X1. Removal and installation took less than 15 minutes. Definitely saves you time and money to do it yourself than to have it done at the dealer. Honestly, I do not know why anyone would not do this themselves. The quality of the filter seems to be on par with the OEM filter, and it fit perfectly with no issues during installation. I would recommend this to anyone who would ask me.

This Mann cabin air filter is OEM quality and a perfect fit for our 2015 BMW X1. The dark side is carbon impregnated, which is exactly what you want to remove volatile airborne contaminants. Just six screws to remove the filter housing under the hood, then undo the plastic clips holding the filter in the housing. Getting new filter back in the housing is a little tricky - just take your time and don't break the plastic tabs. It may help to warm-up the housing and filter to room temperature, so the plastic is more pliable. Be sure to clean-out any leaves, dirt or debris under the filter housing before re-assembling.

High quality filter that fits my car; product arrived snapped at cross piece and a tab was broken off. Since I didn’t check its integrity before I took out my old filter (and dropped a bolt in the process), I put it in and made it work. It’s been fine. I think it helped with my car’s interior residual smoke smell.

Super easy install saves money - helps keep allergies at bay .. resetting service indicator steps I used for a 2006 BMW 330i Step 1 Insert key into slot Step 2 Press start/stop button without depressing clutch/brake and wait for the service reminder to dissapear. Step 3 Immediately after service reminder goes out, press and hold the odometer reset. After 3 secs a warning triangle will appear, keep the odo. button pressed and after another 2-3 secs the Oil can will appear. I f you hold it too long (10 secs in total) you will overshoot the runway and some German writing will appear giving the software level/ can bus etc. of the car. Go back to the beginning and start again. Step 4 You are now in the service menu, use the toggle switch on indicator stalk to scroll up/down through the various service items. Step 5 When you have the item you want to reset showing, press the BC button on end of indicator stalk. Reset should now appear in the display. Press in and hold the BC button for 2-3 secs and a clock will start whirling around and hey presto, its done Step 6 You can now either scroll up/down to select another item (as in step 4) or you can press the start/stop button to exit.

Perfect fit vs. the BMW logo filter and substantially less money. THis is a charcoal impregnanted filter which has the effect of reducing the odors in the HVAC system. Time to replace is approximately 10 minutes removing and replacing 6 screws. Be careful you don't lose the screws down amongst the engine. You won't get them back. Be extra careful when replacing the screws that you get the threads started in the same grooves in the plastic cowling. You do this by finger inserting, backing them out counter-clockwise until you feel a "click" as the initial screw thread drops into the first starter groove in the cowel. This you do to ensure the screw threads chase down the original groves and do NOT enlarge the screw hole to the point of uselessness. While this technique works better with metal nuts and frame parts, it can and does work when replacing screws in plastic and wood (if you are a wood worker or want to have a go at repairing the dining room chair seat frame.)

Was a perfect replacement for my BMW 328i 2007. Easy install: 1. Pop the hood 2. Locate air filter just below where the engine compartment meets the windshield 3. Unlock 2 turn screws that hold air filter cover in place (turn left) 4. Replace filter 5. Lock the screws (turn right) 6. Reset air filter replacement indicator To reset your service light, insert your fob key and press the start button (do not depress the brake pedal). Wait for the warning lights to go away and the temp and time to show in the instrument panel, then press and hold the odometer trip reset until the oil can appears. Now, you're in the service menu. On your turn signal stalk, use the up/down toggle to cycle through the different services until the microfilter service indicator comes on. To reset the service interval, press the BC button on your turn signal stalk to get the reset option and then press and hold the BC button until you see a timer icon.

Not much to say that it's the OEM cabin filter. Fitting inside the housing was tight, as it should be. Installing it is one of the quickest and easiest maintenance tasks on my E90.

Easy to replace with an 8mm socket driver to remove screws securing the cover and out with old and in the with the new in about 10 mins. A snug fit proved the quality of the Mann filter and worthwhile paying for, rather than the cheaper versions available.
