Pyle Desktop Microphone Stand - Universal Tabletop Mic Holder w/ Flexible 8.2'' Inch Gooseneck Mount and Solid U Shape Base - Perfect for Table Desk or Counter - PMKS8

I bought it to use as a bedside/desk mount for my phone, with a few alterations and some added bits it works well for that, I removed the mic bracket and attached a regular magnetic car phone mount. it holds my phone at a good angle so I can see it from bed and I can mount/dis-mount the phone without fumbling for a slot or retaining devise, the magnet just sucks it in. I did this because I wanted something heavy that will stand it's ground when engaging and disengaging the phone. all the magnetic phone mounts on Amazon were very light (6-10 ounces), but this thing weighs 2 pounds and it holds my Note10+ perfectly. I'm giving this 5 stars because I feel it would also be good as a mic stand for all the same reasons, it's heavy, stable, the flexible mount stays where you put it, and the price is right.

This is a VERY sturdy mic stand. Some are complaining about the height not being as claimed, but if I take a tape measure and measure from the bottom of the base to the top of THEIR MIC ATTACHMENT as it is arranged to be perpendicular to the gooseneck (like their photo, but with the gooseneck straight) ... I measure 12 inches. I think that whether or not you like it is a matter of whether it fits your individual needs/requirements. The base is quite heavy. The gooseneck is very firm and definitely takes two hands to maneuver - but this is the same characteristic that will keep it from bending to the weight of a microphone in a way that you might not want. I count it a good thing. The (very sturdy) gooseneck is about 7.5 inches long from end to end, not counting the threaded ends. The base itself is a painted and highly textured die cast metal. For whatever reason, I immediately thought about rust when I received it (perhaps because it reminded me of wrought iron) and I looked down into the base and yes, the threads in the base were already rusting. I took some WD-40 and a paper towel and cleaned that out first (it was pretty dirty, it took a few passes), then sprayed the threads of the gooseneck before attaching it to the base. I had no problems attaching the gooseneck to the base, and no problems with attaching another microphone holder that I have to the top end. The threads are the standard microphone threading of 5/8 inch, 27 threads per inch. And yes, because there is no jam/lock nut included, your mic clip may end up in a wonky position or "unthread" itself if the positioning is not right. I don't have any spare lock nuts but intend to purchase a couple of them with another order from another site that sells them. Then I figure this little stand will be pretty much perfect for my needs, and at a very low price for the quality.

These were the 2nd and 3rd times I've ordered this particular stand. It does the job. It's a nice, compact, but heavy base with a solid goose neck that won't budge unless you mean it to. It works great for us as additional stands for a podcast when we're recording on-location or with more guests than we have booms to support. The only downsides are that it's not real big- so you will need to move "to" the mic to speak, it's not stretching out away from the desk to reach you, and the mic clip is not detachable. That means you won't be able to put a shock mount on it, and it may be hard to use it for a large diaphragm type of condenser mic. it's really made for standard dynamic mics (think "Shure SM-58" size). But for under $8, it's an easy purchase.

Exactly what I wanted. I am using this with a Zoom H4 Essential with 2 Sure SM 57 microphones and needed a stable and heavy base to move it from my desk to my recording station which serves its purpose. The only slight problem is that the mic clip was loose for the attachment that screws into the Zoom, so I simply used another mic clip I had in a box of mic stuff. There is no actual problem with the clip and I have a few others exactly like it that other mics fit fine.

I like to record guitar and vocals in front of my computer - there's an image. However, it's always been difficult sitting close enough to reach the mouse, while holding a guitar (which is plugged directly into a mixing board) and have a mic stand in front of me. Too many items, not enough space. So when I saw this item, I thought I'd give it a try. It's a very good mic stand. Solid, heavy, nice materials. The neck takes some effort to shape into place (which is a great thing) because once in place - it stays there! My mic is skinnier than some, so at level or angled upwards it has no issues staying in place, but when angled down at all it slides...not an issue with the item - just my mic - and it's an easy fix with some electrical tape. I would highly recommend this item for both its quality and because it is incredibly practical for anyone playing/recording in front of their computer.

This V/U Shaped Base Design is perfect for a Desktop solution especially for doing recordings using better sounding Condensor Microphones. These Microphones can be heavier with the Anti-vibration Cradle and a Pop Filter attached, so this design does keep the Mic stable and pretty much free from ever falling over in any direction. I record primarily Voiceovers, and while I have a smaller Hollyland Wireless unit, which sounds great, nothing beats the sound signature of a good Condenser Microphone. My Rockville RCM SR is connected to a Scarlett Solo Mic Preamp via XLR, when I am recording. This V/U Design is not only very stable, but has a clean professional look as well....that is UNTIL YOU TAKE A CLOSER LOOK!!!! the Construction of the Pyle Mic Stand is something out of the 1980's with what looks to be a ROUGH CAST IRON FINISHED METAL!! Out of the box, it had some spotting that needed to be removed, the Tee-Tiny Sponge Cushioning feet are simply not enough to keep the base from making direct contact with your Desktop, and in this case mine is GLASS! And one of the Tiny Cushions were gone altogether making the base uneven and a threat tot scratch any desk it comes in contact with!! The Gooseneck is sturdy but again an old design, that likes moving in one direction but not against the Spiral Wrap. I removed the rest from the Tiny Feet and fashioned my own from some rubber pads that I had from another piece of kit I was not using. I trimmed the Pads using an Exacto Knife for clean look, although some of the rough edges of the base, didn't help the trimming. This is a great Design in need of a Modern Refresh and my suggestion would be to make this base out of a Heavy Polymer, adding metal in and under the bases canal for stability, sufficient footing and offer the unit in several colors, including Red, Pink, White, Black and Silver!! You could even mix and match Stand and Neck Colors!? Add 12 Bucks to the price, and they would be one of the best selling Desktop Mic Stands here!!! (My unit measures accurately the hight in the specs, is at the perfect height when slightly bowed with the Microphone Mounted, 12.5 inches form the desk to Diaphragm Center) Do I reckoned this stand...YES, for the 12.99 it costs, it does the job. But if it were a Dollar more...no!! ;). If they take my advice, I'd pay 25 bucks for a White One!!

This is part of my first attempt to get a decent mic setup for home use. A few months ago I picked up Scarlett Solo for messing around with electric guitar amp models and recording in Linux. Recently I got a cheap dynamic microphone (an SM58 clone) to try with the Solo. It worked well, so then the last part of the agenda was a mic holder. I wanted something inexpensive, sturdy, and adjustable to place on a desk or on the floor next to an amp. The Pyle stand fits the bill nicely. The metal base has a nice weight to it, and the adjustable neck feels sturdy. I also like this form-factor more than some of the other products that use a desk-mount or a little tripod. A mic clip also comes with the stand, and it fits the mic perfectly. The mic clip was missing when I first received my order, so I wrote to Pyle customer support. They were very easy to deal with and shipped the piece to me to complete the stand.

In setting up an audio booth, we needed a desktop microphone stand and this one is perfect. The base is very heavy and stable, and it supports a simple microphone perfectly. The black base has a rough cast finish, that looks fine and the short flexible gooseneck works well. The microphone clip works well also. The only minor downside is that when screwing the gooseneck and clip together, there are no lock nuts provided. This means when they are fully tightened, the microphone clip may not be oriented properly, but it's something we can work with.

Poco puedo decir de este producto porque en cuanto lo abrí y lo probé, vi que el soporte no admitía el micrófono que quería utilizar (SpeechMike de Phillips) así que lo devolví. Aún así me pareció un producto de calidad, robusto, bastante pesado y estable. Habría que verlo con un micrófono puesto para ver si es tan estable con peso, pero probablemente aguantara bien. Eso sí, me dio la impresión de que en vivo era más corto de lo que parecía en las imágenes; probablemente aunque el micrófono entrase en el soporte no se si mu hubiera servido por la longitud del "brazo cuello de cisne".

Great solid stand, solid metal so nice and heavy thus stable. Good quality, and would recommend as value for money. I have a nice Mic which is a bit heavy and it works perfect.

I wanted a stand just to prop up my mic while I play guitar. I just wanted something cheap so I went for this one. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a nice, heavy stand that won't get knocked around. I didn't read the description but the picture led me to believe the base was made of plastic but it's actually made of cast iron which is much heavier and stronger. The neck is quite flexible but stiff so that it won't lose its position easy. There are also rubber bottoms on the stand for friction and so it won't damage your table or desk. The neck might be a little short for some people but other than that, this thing is actually better than I expected.
