Very nice. Just what I was looking for.
The unit feels very sturdy, and the picture is exactly the product you receive. The plastic clip seems likely to hold up nicely and stand up to the load of being clipped and un-clipped a LOT. The neck is finely jointed black metal, and it bends easily, but the weight of the light head can't bend it. The neck feels like it will stand up just fine to lots of bending. The light is fairly white to my eye. If there is a bluish tinge, it is very slight. And it's plenty bright enough for reading a book it is clipped to. Switch seems sturdy, clicks easily but distinctly, and is easy to find right on the top side of the light head. Hit the switch once to turn both lights on; hit it again and the 'inner' light turns off and outer light stays on; hit it a third time and all lights are off. Battery cover slides on and off just like pretty much any TV remote or cell phone: just apply a little downward pressure with with your finger on the little 'arrow' molded into the battery cover and push. Cover slides off revealing the battery compartment. No screwdriver or any other tool needed. It has a rubber pad on the end of the clip, which matches up with a rubber pad on the base, helping it to stay in place on hard surfaces. Some reviews have noted that it slides around a bit on thin book covers, and I saw that too *IF* I didn't push the clip as far down as it would go on the cover. When I clipped it as far onto the hardcover as it would go, it didn't move at all when I waved the book around. The max thickness that the clip will go on is 1 1/8" fully (basically 'hyper') extended. The clip seems designed to work optimally when the item it is clipped on is 3/8" to 3/4" thick. BUT of course it still works OK on thinner and thicker stuff than that. Bottom line: I can't think of anything I'd change. Would be a tich nicer for clipping onto books if the battery box was lighter and thinner. But you can't get AAAA batteries just everywhere, and they wouldn't last as long. Also if the battery box was much lighter, you couldn't use it as a lamp base. DIMENSIONS: Base battery box: 3.1"L x 1.6"W x 0.65"H. Clip Triangle Height: 0.7" Overall height from bottom of base to top of clip: 1.7" Flexible Neck Length (not counting light head): 7.75 BUT the neck starts 0.6" in from the end of the battery box. Neck diameter: 5/32" (0.15"). Light Head: 2.18"L x 0.8"W x 0.64"H.

Compact, Lightweight, Rugged, Durable, and BRIGHT
I've had the Xtra Flex 2 LED Book Light for almost a year now, and I absolutely love it! I'm able to attach it to a book or to my Kindle. The Xtra Flex 2 LED Book Light is also available in the following colors: Black , Silver , Purple , Green , and Pink . Pros ---- - VERY BRIGHT White Light - Two Brightness Settings (1) On the brighter setting, it uses both of its LED lights; (2) on the dimmer setting, it uses only one. - Phenomenal Battery Life The book light requires 3 AAA batteries to operate. My book light provides 15-20 hours of light before the light STARTS to be noticeably dimmer. The book light can provide about 35 - 40 hours of usable light before I have to replace the batteries (I use 1000 mAH AAA rechargeable batteries). - Flexible Gooseneck The gooseneck is extremely flexible; it can be twisted or bent. I can adjust the height and direction of the light with total ease. It comes in very handy for directing the light on the verso or recto as needed as you're reading. - Compact and Lightweight With a book in hand, I hardly feel the weight of the book light when it is clipped to the book. - Rugged and Durable The book light is well-made and has a rugged casing. Cons --- None. I honestly can't think of any! The Xtra Flex 2 LED Book Light is both attractive and functional. Plus, it is very affordable and reasonably priced. You really can't go wrong with this one!

Works great for the Kindle
I bought this for my Kindle 2 because I wake up earlier than my husband when we're on vacation, and I hate having to read in the bathroom so that I don't wake him up by turning on the light. This solves that problem nicely. I found this product when I looked for Kindle 2 accessories. There is another Mighty Bright clip on light that's specifically for the Kindle, but it costs a bit more. This works just fine. It can either clip to the Kindle 2 or the cover. It's not very heavy - I tested it on a regular paperback, and as long as you put more than 50 pages in the clip, it won't bend the pages. One thing I like about this is that it can rest on its own clip, like a stand. This is great for when I want to play on my laptop in a dark hotel room and still want to see the keyboard. I don't have to clip it to anything - just stand it up and turn it on. Bonus! This uses 3 AAA batteries. I'm using the ones it came with and will change to rechargeable ones when these die. It might take a while for them to die, though - LED lights don't use up much energy. That's good because rechargeable batteries don't hold much charge. There are three settings - really bright, kinda' bright, and off. The light is a little bluish, which makes white pages stand out really well. The only problem I have with this is that after this product shipped, I saw the exact same thing at Barnes & Noble for $2 less. It's an awesome product and worth what I paid for it, but paying less would have made it better.

Not great for two-page book reading
I like Mighty Bright's products; I use their Mighty Bright Orchestra Light, with Adapter and Bag and am super happy with that. This one, though, isn't so great, at least for the way I wanted to use it: to read comparatively large books with my (relatively poor) eyesight. For that I'd give it three stars, but I'm sticking with four because it's not a bad product as far a single-arm two-LED light goes. I liked that the gooseneck is supple but strong, stays in place wherever you put it. Seems to be reasonably well-built, it doesn't weigh much. I didn't use the AAA batteries it came with, because I intend to use it almost exclusively with rechargeables. What I didn't like: 1. When you try to spread the light out across both pages of a standard-size hardcover book, it's not quite bright enough. It worked great when I focused all the light onto a single page -- nice and bright -- but that meant I had to keep repositioning the lamp left and right, over and over, each time I went to the next page. That was the dealbreaker for me. I'll concede that it's probably slightly brighter with non-rechargable batteries, due to their higher output voltage, but again, I'd only ever use this with rechargables. 2. The light it casts has a little bit of a hot halo around the edge. That is to say, it's slightly darker in the middle than it is right around the perimeter of the illuminated area. This bothered me a little, because my pupils wanted to adjust to the brightest spot on the page. 3. The front edge of the bulb housing is another too-bright thing in one's field of vision. I'd probably recommend buying this in black plastic, or even putting a bit of black electrical tape on the tip of the lamp, where it faces you, to act as kind of a visor or blinder.

Great, Bright Light--used it throughout Hurricane Sandy.
I got a Mighty-Bright 2-Light about 6 months ago, and I just loved it for its bright light. I'm often a passenger in several-hour-long car trips that go late into the night, and I love having this light to read by (I don't get carsick reading in a car like many people do). I like the light so much that just a couple of weeks ago, I bought another one as a back-up. And I'm glad I did. The LED lights are so nice and bright that my husband and I used these booklights throughout Hurricane Sandy, after our power went out, not just to read by but to use as we moved throughout the house, and also when we took the dog outside after dark. Both lights were on for hours and never seemed to lose their power. I also love that these Mighty-Bright 2-Lights run on AAA batteries, which are inexpensive, easy to replace, last a long time, and you can even get rechargeable AAA batteries these days. This is in sharp contrast to booklights that run on button-shaped batteries which I've found to be unreliable, don't last very long, and that their power gradually fades so that most of the time the booklight doesn't produce a crisp (or even usable) amount of light. And those button-shaped batteries are expensive and not rechargeable. I gave the Mighty-Bright 4 stars instead of 5 because I think it's overpriced for a booklight, but it's durable and the LEDs are great. Recommend. UPDATE: I am now upgrading this book light to 5 stars because I feel it's worth it in spite of its high cost. I just replaced one of the 2 lights I initially bought because my dog got hold of one of them and chewed it to pieces. I value book lights so much that I can't stand the thought of being without one on one of our long night-time drives, and these book lights have held up so well (except for the dog chewing up one of them). Thus I decided to replace the one I lost with the exact same model. The problem I have is because I married a New York driver, which could make anybody's nerves raw. Reading a book in the car at night (or in the daytime, for that matter) keeps me from watching the road while he's driving and thus keeps me from turning into a nervous wreck before we reach our destination.

Great light for reading kindle as well as books
Might Bright is very good as both a book light and kindle light. Its most promising feature is the evenly spread out white light and I can certainly attest to that. It doesnt have that blue tint like some LEDs and 2 brightness modes means that there is always enough light to complete your work comfortably. It is very much multipurpose in nature - I also use it to illuminate my laptop setup (includes external keyboard) during light and it hardly creates any glare on the shiny plastic surface. Even when there is some light in the room, sometimes I use it to illuminate my book pages if it looks too dull (in terms of brightness). The battery is quite good, but not exceptional - I have used it for a week roughly, and kept it on for a long time even when my studies were completed. Finally, one night I noticed that it was too dim and replaced the batteries - which is when I understood how dim it became in the last days. So, my guess is that it is probably good for 4-5 days if you use it extensively. I bought 4 rechargeable AAA batteries with this, which I would recommend doing as it will probably become a costly affair to replace the batteries so often. I usually dont rate anything 5 star unless it is really really good compared to the competition.

Let the light shine on in!
As I was about to take a family vacation with small children where we'd be sharing a hotel room, I needed a book light that would allow me to stay up and read after they'd fallen asleep, without disturbing them. After researching for a few hours, the Xtra Flex LED Book Light seemed to have the features I wanted and had the best overall reviewer ratings, so I ordered one. Now that I've used it, below are my pro's and con's for this unit. Pro's: - The unit has two bright LEDs and you can choose to use one or two of the LEDs. The light emitted has a slightly bluish tint to it, but the light is clear and sharp. - The light is tightly concentrated, and does not significantly bleed-over into the room. The area covered by the LEDs is wide enough to cover a large book, and does not have any hotspots. - The unit uses three AAA batteries. I haven't had to change mine yet, so those three batteries should last you a long time. Other reviewers have mentioned they got over 40 hours of use from a set of three batteries, and I see no reason to doubt that, especially if you only have to use one LED when reading, as I do, rather than two. - The "Xtra Flex" was very flexible indeed, and I had no trouble bending the head into a position that lit up my books Con: - I wouldn't have minded if the clip that holds the unit to your book had a little more tension. On rare occasions, the clip would slip around a bit. Overall, this is a very good late-night reading solution and a good value. Highly recommended.

Best Book Light I've Had in 25 years!
Bought this for my daughter to take to camp and she loved it! It takes 3 AAA batteries, which are included. When I packed it for camp I turned one of the batteries around so it wouldn't accidentally turn on and run down. She used it at camp nightly for 2 weeks and it never went dim. She loved the flexible neck so she could position it exactly as she needed. The light was a nice bright white, making it easy to see the print on the page. The clip was sturdy and stayed in place on the book. She also use it for her tablet to give her some extra light and it clips on easy and doesn't interfere with anything she's doing. And because it's lightweight it's still comfortable whether she's using it on her book or tablet. Since she didn't have a side table light at camp she used it kind of as a regular lamp, too. It wasn't very bright but just enough for what she needed. It was also better than her flashlight at times because she could clip it to herself and be hands-free. A multi-tasker! Over the past 25 years I've gone through many iterations of the book light and this is the best so far. And to add it it's great features is the ability to buy it in a variety of fun colors. Finally a book light that works that's not black (unless that's what you want!)

Ottimo acquisto
Prodotto eccezionale. 10 e lode.

Outright cheating by Seller
The light may be good. But friends just look at the stuff I have received. It's old, damaged, unserviceable and broken. Amazon must take cognizance of this and take appropriate action. Time is wasted and so is the belief.

The best book light I have owned
I bought this specifically for my Kindle but have been using it in place of my regular bedside lamp for all my reading. It has a relatively long, strong flexible neck, which can be moved into - and will hold - any position. It has a nice deep clip for attaching to a good chunk of pages for stability. There are two light settings (one bulb or 2) and whilst the bulbs are very bright, they are only focussed on a book-sized area so it does not light up the rest of the room as well. It came with the 3 AAA batteries it needs but you can also purchase a mains AC adapter separately, which is great as I will be using it in place of my lamp and so will save on batteries. I have tried quite a few book lights and they are often too dim, don't clasp firmly to the book, do not cover enough of the page or eat batteries - this is the best book light I have had and I am very pleased with it!
