Thank You Amazon Prime!
I discovered the author after watching the Bicycle documentary on Amazon Prime. Glad I discovered his books. Enjoyed this one immensely.

pedestrians or whatever they like to call themselves
It was a really interesting history lesson. I believe that it would be interesting to most peoples regardless of their stance about the right of way on the roads. Both for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians or whatever they like to call themselves. Some parts got a bit dragged out, but its still worth the effort to read through.

Bicycles led road improvement
Filled with a cast of previously unknown, to me, characters and many surprising historical facts. Would recommend more for historical and technical content, as it is a collection of facts.

If you're ready to appreciate ways that bikes are better than cars, this book is for you!
If you've been brainwashed by our culture into thinking that cars own the road, and if you're ready to reconsider that proposition, this is the book for you! Full of surprising facts and beautifully written by someone who lives and breathes bicycles.

A lot of information
Very informative and researched. At times it gets a bit bogged down and repetitive but still it is a good read and gives the reader insight into a road share struggle that has been going on for a long time. It is worth reading.

An Elevated Bikeway in L.A.'s past? Yep. Read about it here.
I grew up in Los Angeles and NEVER KNEW about the elevated bikeway that was proposed (and partially built) to run from Pasadena to downtown Los Angeles a century ago. Great story about it with historic pictures in this book.

very important historical information to those who argue against that roads were built for cars.

Timely, relevant information but the format is too long
Chapter 15 would have been a great, long, detailed article on a timely and very interesting subject. As a book, it's too long, includes too much details, too much repetition.Essentially the first fourteen chapters are the background research material and you may want to browse if the topic really fascinate you.I hate being harsh on this book because it's an incredible amount of research on a timely, relevant matter. It's one of those books that make you think, that helps you understand… in short it's a book you should read. Or at least you should read chapter 15. A Reader's Digest version (or Amazon Single) would be fantastic

Really interesting if the subject matter applies to you.
Well researched with a huge amount of detail. Very interesting, if you like the subject matter or have any interest at all in the overall topic. Hard going at times but well worth a read. Waited for ages for the price to come down but it didn't should have just gone ahead and purchased when it came out.
