works on baked in water spots
Bought this to help with some terrible, hard water spots that were baked into my side mirrors. I tried vinegar, WD40, hand sanitizer, and regular Megs 105 compound. This works better than all of those. You do have to use a good amount of product and work a small space at a time with a lot of elbow grease but if you do you will get good results.

1st time using for heavy oxidation
Purchased used minivan that was formely at a auction lot. Much much damage to trim, weatherstripping, tires cracked, power steering line had hole. Oil pan had to be replaced w a Honda OEM (Got the last one in stock for bay area, they are on 2 week backorder and auto part store knock offs dont fit!) Heavy oxidation above windsheild and in roof rack area. Shake well each time before applying...want to see no water and all white thicker product. I spread this on with my fingers then wiped off excess. Used wool pads attached to home use cordless drill. Bottle says run until almost dry. I did front van area four times & in between wiping/rubbing with paper towel. A lot, LOT of gray colored oxidation came off. While there is slightly noticeable sorta dots the majority of oxidation is gone and entire area is noticeablely shinier. Will let this application sit then do again in the AM cool weather. Really this van without a lot of sweat equity and TLC was almost ready to be recycled. This product really exceeded my expectations and can put off a full paint job hopefully for some time. EDIT 5/29/24 Paint oxidation streaks are back. Area is shiny feels waxed and this product makes oxidation stand out more. Would not recommend!

Meguiars, what more is there to say
High quality products that help me keep my vehicles looking great. When someone comes up to me to ask if I have a new truck (it is a 2016 that I purchased used) then you know that the detailing work was worth it. And I always turn to Meguiars. I have tried others and always been disappointed. Would give them more stars if I could. I have a LOT of their stuff in my garage. Also use their products on our 69 Camaro show car. Lots of trophies to show for it. Don't waste your money elsewhere. Meguiars is the trophy winner!

Perfectly removes the oil film from the windshield
I used to clean the oil film of the windshield, the effect is very good, I used some cleaning pad to work with hands for about 30 minutes, all the oil film is removed. The oil film of the windshield seriously affects vision in rainy days, very dangerous.

Miracle in a bottle
I wished I had taken before and after pictures. I was desperately looking for a solution to a recent paint problem on my '03 car. We had sticky tar substance fling up on the driver's door and ended up scrubbing it off with an abrasive dish pad. Unfortunately that left behind some pretty harsh burn/swirl marks (not surprising in hindsight). A week later I ordered this and after 10 minutes of buffing out the marks the paint looks flawless. I can't imagine how that works but it absolutely did. I'm stunned by the results.

The good stuff
If you're comfortable using a buffer and needs to bring back the glass after wet sanding, this is the stuff to use.

Old World compound
This is an old school compound- that's about the best way to describe this. If you keep that in mind (that it's a compound from the old ways) then it will be an "OK" compound but if you start comparing it to the newer compounds by Meguiars, 3M or Wizards etc., it will pale in comparison. Many of the newer compounds are "time released" for a one step process (or darn close to) or they are a "One compound process" in that you use the same compound on the heavy cut pad and the medium cut and the finishing pad. Many of the newer compounds are also thicker so the pad can't sling it around as easily and it doesn't evaporate as quickly.Meguiar's Heavy-Cut is a liquid grit compound (you can feel the grit between your fingers) that uses some type of oil (for lubrication?) and is pretty thin as compounds go. I had real troubles with the compound slinging all over the place with both wool and foam pads leaving little on the pad. As other reviews have said, It also dried too fast though I didn't have any troubles removing it as some others had. This product will require a second step with dedicated pads for each product. The finish it leaves is indicative of a step 1 product in a 3 step process. You will also need to have a sponge, bucket and towels on hand because it's going to sling that liquid grit all over and if you just wipe it off you may risk marring another surface. With Heavy Cut being the harshest of this abrasive line you really don't want to just just try and wipe off dried or drying product and hope for the best.So there you have it. If you like doing things the old way (because you were taught that way or you did it that way for XX years) then this stuff will work out great for you and it is capable of delivering the same great results as the newer products. However, if you are new to compounding/polishing, want to save time and/or money than look into the newer products like Meguiars 105 and 205, 3M Perfect It series or Wizards Mystic series or their Turbo Cut and Finish cut.
