Overall good - buy video extender cable at the start
Video quality looks good, cables are thick enough to not break when installing, or break after installation. I had a Boyo unit before which had flimsy cables which broke. Most of that though I'll blame on the installation I hired done. The Pyle unit is more robust cables (installed myself) and a few months in now, the Pyle unit is still working good. The Pyle unit is physically "larger" than the Boyo. This to account for the addition of the LED lights which theoretically provide better night viewing. I observe that the LED lights do pretty much nothing to help lighting, so the smaller Boyo unit is better in this regard. Boyo also "locks" into place. The Pyle unit sags down with time and has to be pointed up a bit to be pointing at the right place. I can likely fix this with some silicon, haven't gotten to it.Power and Video cables on the Pyle unit are standard RCA connector and a wall wart style power plug adapter. I secured it with tie straps to make sure doesn't come loose. In the Boyo case (not this unit), power ground and video are all inside a single very thin 4-wire cable that goes all the way to the dash. I found it more convenient with the Pyle, to attach power and ground to the reverse light and ground right there in the back of the car rather than the dash, so the only thing going all the way forward is the video cable (RCA).Biggest thing to look out for with the Pyle unit is that the video cable from the back of the car is "too short" by about 6 to 9 feet. It's probably 12 feet long, but still way short. Solved at Radio Shack with a video (RCA) extender wire. Months in, it's working fine. Add $15 to price...There are some subtle differences in the video between the two units. The Boyo unit is more "wide angle" than the Pyle. Result is that Pyle unit has better view of cars and things behind the car further away, but it just barely can't see my trailer hitch. About 1 inch away to get in the video frame. With the Boyo unit, hitch was visible. This will be a trade off, I'll have better visibility to the rear to miss things when backing up, but less showing off when connecting the car to trailer to get hitch it right under the trailer.Bottom line, I'm happy. For the price, good device and a good purchase.

PYLE Radio & Reverse Camera
Following is my reply to the distributors of PYLE RadioHello benzionYes, I did buy Pyle Radio and Pyle rear view backup parking reverse camera. As you probably know, I had to send both back since those bought for the first time in beginning of Dec 2014 did not work properly. I had rough time to contact your support person called CHRIS ext. 217 (phone: 718 535 1800) who was located in Philippines. He told me contact “Dominic” at ext 202. He also did not call back. He did admit that the physical unit does not correspond to the instructions provided in the manual. Finally we managed to install both of them in the beginning of Jan 15.Now the camera seems to be working. But the image change in monitor (screen) frame is not all that clear particularly in cloudy days. For first few seconds, the screen goes fuzzy. Later it changes in to somewhat clear but not all that clear. I cleaned the lens of camera with wet cloth and the results are same and no better. The Owner’s manual on Pyle radio is totally inadequate and does not correspond to the unit. It does not correspondent to the remote and its printed narrations. GPS did not come with any clear cut instructions except some warnings. The speech part of GPS is a joke. It starts and suddenly I found there was no voice. Apart from local and surrounding areas in Central Florida where I live, I just did a 2,999 miles trip to Texas and back. I could not rely on your GPS and its directions since the roads and directions are not equal to the physical roads. Moreover, the software did not allow me to punch letters in the address where I want to go. When I want to punch one address, the letters on the key board blocks other letters. My first GPS unit was Garmin. I had used it for over seven years. I had no problem in punching the letters for street address nor for the letters for the name of the city. I am not sure whether the manufacturers of PYLE know enough about USA cities, street names. Here again, there are no clear cut instructions nor a manual was provided.Your support team at NY, Dominic ext. 202 did care less about my needs and my questions. To get hold of CHRIS at ext 217 was problematic since he was away half round the world. I have yet to try other items on the screen. The blue tooth does not automatically turn when a call is coming in.If you are selling a technically advanced piece of equipment, it should be supported by clear cut instructions in easy to read manuals. The remote control buttons, their descriptions are totally different from those in the manual on page 6. There were no instructions as to working of MEDIA, RADIO, NAV (as said above), BT( manual says optional, but I could dial out but receive occasionally), AUX, SETTINGS, BTMUSIC (what is it?) IPOD ( no instructions). No detailed instructions over icons at the bottom of the screen. Moreover, I use Samsung Galaxy Tablet. This could not be paired with your PYLE.Writing manuals for any equipment is a serious business. It is no less than making that equipment. You being the distributors, it appears to me are not interested in customer needs so long you can ship them in quantities to increase your bottom line.It is high time to sit down and reflect “What are you in business for” ? I spent over $400.00 including installations (twice) for the above. Was an investment or just threw my money away.I sincerely hope that you would do something if not everything to overcome above deficiencies. BTW, I have known how Chinese manufacturers avoid in providing instructions for the goods and equipment they produce. Their distributors are no less compliant than them.Subash Murray FCA, Dip MS, CFE, LPIManagement Concepts FacilitatorsConsultancy, Governance, Risk awareness, Compliance and InvestigationsFL Licensed A: 2900226 C: 2900418Ph: 407 466 9060www.back2bizbasix.comwww.mentorsguild.com/[email protected]@iib.wsSkype:subash.murray

Its way worth the money
This is actually the Third one I have had to buy as someone backed into my car and broke the camera, and another for a friend that wanted one as well. I have had that camera on my car for 11 straight years and NEVER a problem, so I did not hesitate to come back and get another. Great in Parking Lots, Night time is clear. Well worth the investment.

The IR LEDs do not illuminate. There is no low light image.
UPDATE : I removed it as it got filled with moisture, making the image from the camera useless. Eventually, it stopped working. That was after about 3 months of use.The image from the camera is clear, however the IR LEDs do not work at all. Unlike a CCTV camera where you would hear a mechanical click to indicate that the IR filter has been removed, this camera has no reaction whatsoever. I wonder if they are just cosmetic.I may have to find a better way to mount the camera. The province name and validation sticker are obstructed by the camera. I don't want to get a ticket.I will have to find IR illuminators if I would like to use the camera in darker settings. Fortunately, the brake and reverse lights do provide enough light for the camera.

Useless - not waterproof, rain will cause it to fog
After a few months of rain, the camera is useless and fogged. Amazon will not do anything under warranty, who knows that the company would do.Buy something that does not just claim to be waterproof, as it is not!
