Q: Does anyone know the maximum weight limit of this chair?

I would guess pretty high, don't know the exact figure. However, the cylinder in its lowest position sits higher than normal office chairs.

Q: Could this chair be used for cooking? I can't stand long periods.

This purchase was made due to my son being a tattoo artist. The way the back is smaller makes it where he can turn around and sit backwards, leaning over, with support . And as well it's comfortable for long periods of sitting normally upright. It's not any better than any other high quality office chair other than it's design and ability to be used in multiple directions, with support. It does have height adjustment and good casters, has a good cushion which is thick and is extremely well made to last a long time. This is our second purchase of this exact brand due to comfort and due to long life, even with the abuse it take. My son is a large man with constant use of the chair, we will always buy this now.
