I love 🤍 these OXO Good Grips Silicone Drying Mats in (Gray)! Don't change the design!
Long time OXO fan. I love 🤍 these OXO Good Grips Large Silicone Drying Mat, Large (Gray). We have them in multiple sizes and they work and clean up great, I highly recommend the OXO Silicone Drying Mats. I love the Gray color, it works great in the kitchen works great in a white kitchen with stainless steel appliances, timeless design, well-made, they look cool, they do the job, I highly recommend them! NOTE: But I just ordered a new one in December 2022 Sold and Shipped by Amazon just like the others that I purchased years ago. This new one that I received was brand new in the packaging, put it in a very clean dishwasher with all-natural Seventh Generation Dishwasher Detergent, which I highly recommend by the way! the new OXO Silicone Drying Mat came out totally spotted. I have other ones that are over 5-years old and they look pretty much brand new. I had to call OXO, let them know about the quality of the silicone. Visually looked the same, brand new NIP, but once it was washed just once in the dishwasher, it looks 10-years old now, not sure if there was a Quality Control issue regarding they bad-batch regarding the OXO’s silicone (Made In China), but OXO sent me a brand new one. The new replacement is having the same thing happen as well. OXO wanted me to send them photos which I happily oblige. I am posting the photos of the one I just purchased in Holiday 2022 to let OXO and other customers be aware if they experienced this discoloration/staining on a brand new product. Visually you cannot tell a difference, but there must be a different make up of the silicone utilized or I got a bad batch. If so, make sure you call OXO's Customer Service and make them aware of the issues. I love these OXO Good Grips Silicone Drying Mats in (Gray) don't change a thing. So please don't change the design, it is perfect. I have no need for the hole, it looks weird on the countertop. Would like different shapes and sizes though, because I use them now for unconventional projects. By the way OXO makes one for model for Target that is a more modern circular different design, which I do not like the pattern of. Timeless design never goes out of style!

So wonderful- just wish it was a little bigger
I bought this item a few weeks ago because of the rave reviews. I have many OXO products and they have never let me down; this product is no different. I live in a small apartment with a small kitchen and, although we use the dishwasher most of the time, we needed a drying mat for things that could not go in the dishwasher. I never knew that other drying mats harbored bacteria and such and I was getting fed up with using a towel/material drying mats because they never fully dryed! So, I bought this item. This is a great design and I love it so much! The ribbed design is genius- it allows whatever you are drying to sit slightly above the bottom of the mat and allows the water to drip off and air to get in so it will dry fully. Things dry beautifully now and I am very thankful. The mat isn't a bad size, although I could always go for bigger! This is very easy to clean because it is silicone and could easily go in the dishwasher to wash every once in awhile. I read a past review saying that the mat gets "slimy" on the bottom because the water doesn't always dry and they said you had to wipe under the mat every time after you used it to dry something. I haven't had this issue. I just put a plastic tablemat underneath it and haven't had any issues of it being slimy or gross. Depending on how many dishes you do and how often, you do have to shake the excess water off before you dry more dishes because it doesn't always dry completely. I for one don't mind this because it drys my dishes beautifully. Overall, another wonderful product by OXO and I am so impressed. Thanks, OXO!

Excellent size and product - I bought two of them.
This review is NOT about using this product as intended. The short answer to that, is that it holds a lot of water and performs as expected. I have used it to drip-dry a couple of wine glasses and it performed well. (as expected) However, I bought this drying mat to multi-task in different areas of the kitchen with different purposes. What I like about this product: Size: good size to protect table/counter top from hot plates/pots. Design: ridges and flat reversible surface for different purposes. Pros and Uses: Using the flat surface: Keeps the bread machine in place, preventing the Breadman from "walking-off" the counter during some vigorous exercise. Cast iron cookware (hot or cold) won't damage brand new granite counter tops. Ridge Surface: Thawing out food on counter: Catches all the melted ice/water. Used as a spoon holder in a pinch, holds all the sauce/gravy. Used regularly to place pressure cooker and pots/pan lids on it. It catches all the hot liquid dripping from the lid and gives me a safe place to put the lid without having to worry about cleaning counters or hot liquid running off the sides onto the cabinets. Used to hold screws and nails in place (no rolling around, easy to find) during kitchen remodel. Also great to keep hammers, drills, screw drivers, etc. It provides a nice cushion and prevents accidental chipping. Cleaning: Easy as pie. A bit of dish soap, rinse, shake and store. Does not discolor no matter what type of sauce you spill on it. *there is a hole on the mat that allows you to store vertically/hang on hook somewhere. Cons: Only one color. Wish it came in different colors. The price is a bit steep. Would like an accurate rating on how many degrees it can handle. Most people will do fine setting pots/pans that have been baking at 375 degrees. However, Using the Alton-Brown method for cooking rib eye steak in cast iron at 500 degrees may be too much. (I simply put the pan back on the stove's iron grates) Wish list if OXO Good Grips is listening about future product development/enhancement: I'd like to see this product with a center-hole to use as a sink protector. I would use the ridge side down to allow water to flow. ** Maybe I will buy two more and cut the hole myself.

great on top, slimy on the bottom
Bought this because I hand-wash pots, pans, knives, and other non-dishwasher items, and I wanted a drying rack that wasn't ugly and took up space because it's made for dishes and glasses. This mat is *almost* perfect for what I wanted. After using it for several months, I still like it. A few reservations: - It's not huge. I'd have like it 25% bigger, but this is the biggest one I could find available. - It doesn't drain into the sink like a rack or the mat under a rack would. I'm fine with that, but that means it collects water and needs to be dumped occasionally. - Because it's silicone, the underside of it never seems to dry. In fact, it's always damp and slimy underneath when I lift it to clean or drain. Good points: - Nice grip to it. I use it to lean cutting boards and cookie sheets up against the wall to dry, and they never slip. Stays in place on my counter next to my sink. - Dishwasher safe, though I haven't needed to clean it yet. - Looks great - when I put the dried dishes away, looks like an extension of the sink. - Easily movable if you need more counter space for prep work.

WAY better than fabric mats!
***UPDATE*** I've owned this now for a few months and am still thrilled with it. It is hands-down leagues better than any fabric mat could ever be. Let me count the ways: 1. Dishes are elevated so air circulates. Dishes dry inside and out. 2. Cleaning is simple. Wipe it with a soapy sponge, rinse and hang it over the sink to dry. 3. You only need one, because it never needs to visit the laundry room. **Original Review*** Oxo seldom disappoints. I already own two of these mats in the narrow version, one for thawing frozen foods and the other for drying the pitcher we use to refill our coffee makers. They're very handy. This one is for dishes. I've tried to find an old-fashioned one that drained into the sink. Forget it, they're just not out there anymore. The one I thought would work has a fatal design flaw and won't work unless it sits almost 2" over the sink edge. So we turn to Oxo. Although this one doesn't drain into the sink, it DOES elevate my dishes well off the mat, allowing plenty of air to circulate so they do in fact dry. Other mats aren't so good at the drying part, taking all day sometimes. Dishes drained on this mat are fully dry within a couple of hours. This is important if someone is home all day, using dishes. After unloading it, I shake it out over the sink to get rid of the water. My counters are black and white granite. This soft gray blends beautifully and is very unobtrusive. Soft and flexible, this would be so easy to roll up and store under the sink.

Love it!
I love this! I used to use a fabric drying mat that I picked up at a local store. However, because it was fabric and had soft filler, things like cups would almost suction to it and slow the drying process. Also, because of that lack of air flow in an upside down object, it left an odor. In addition, those other mats can absorb odor. This mat fixes all of those problems. Because it has the bumps/slots, items still have airflow and dry better and faster. They don't sit in a damp spot because the water goes into the channels. It has a lip around the edge as well so water can't roll off onto your counter. I also like that if this gets dirty, I can just rinse and dry it without having to worry about a fabric mat that needs to be aired out. It also stays in place better, and simply looks much better on my counter. I will never go back to fabric drying mats.

Yay for dry countertops!
Thank you, OXO drying mat, for vastly improving our countertop landscape. You don't rust like metal drainboards, or turn into a nasty, moist breeding ground for bacteria and mold like the dishtowel that used to live under our dish rack. You don't leak, seep, or ooze wet funkiness all over the place, and you're impermeable, so I'm not constantly worried about water damage to the counter surface underneath you. And you have modern, minimal good looks to boot. A few notes to potential buyers: this mat holds a surprising amount of water. The first time I emptied it out, I made a mess because I completely underestimated how much water it had caught. I do find it's important to regularly empty and wash the mat. I let it go for 4-5 weeks, which resulted in some moldy funk between some of the "fins" which was hard to clean out. (I had to scrub with a brush and a bleachy solution.) Draining it and running it in the top rack of the dishwasher weekly/bi-weekly seems to do a good job of keeping it clean.

HOW Did I Manage Before Silicone?
Little by little, silicone is taking over my kitchen. Maybe I am late to the game because I thought silicone was only for breast implants. First, I replaced all of my old nylon cooking utensils (with the ragged/melted edges) with silicone covered steel. Spoons, spatulas, tongs... the works. Then I picked up a silicone pot holder/hot pad at Wally World one day, on impulse. I used it a couple of times & was impressed at the secure grip. Then I ran it through the dishwasher to remove food that got on it and it came out great so I tossed all of the stained, scorched cloth potholders & mitts and replaced them with silicone. Then came silicone bowl covers. Now I have thrown out the microfiber spongy mat we placed hand-washed dishes on to dry. I am so OVER bleaching it every week or so to keep it from developing mildew. Silicone stays neat & mildew free, especially if you drape it over the divider in your sink when you aren't using it. I was a little surprised at how flexible this neat little mat is. I guess the years of having a rubber mat under the old dish drainer had me expecting this to be heavy and stiffer. The flexibility, however, does not prevent air circulation. The spacing of the ribs keeps your dishes raised above the area where water puddles. No more steamed up glasses from trapped moisture. The grippiness of the silicone, combined with the ribs, makes it easy to stand pan lids and such neatly in an upright position--as long as there is a pan or bowl to lean them against. I couldn't do that with the microfiber drying mat or even my over-the-sink, roll up drying rack (which I still use for some items). The best part of these solutions vs. an actual "rack" is that storage is simple, using little space under the sink or in a drawer when you want the counter cleared off. Neat-O!!

Tapete escorredor OXO
Excelente. Bom é isso, espero que ajude.

Size not accurate.
Mat is half the size of the description. Was supposed to be about 80 cm in length. Only about 40 cm.

Does the job!
Great product! Dishes dry well and are protected. Can use underneath hot dishes too when no dishes are drying.

My FROG Loves It
Gives him good traction to strike at bugs for dinner time! Safe food grade silicone is all I would trust for him. Stops him super-manning as he tries to lunge at insects lol. I realize this is not the intended use for this product, but happy to share my experience with the product. It does not slide around at all on the bottom of a slick plastic tub, I am impressed.
