The first thing I noticed about this is the steaks are bigger than they appear in the pictures. By their size I know they will work fine to secure the mat on each corner and you get a couple extras just in case you lose one in the sand. I don't have plans to go to the beach for an extended stay until August but sometimes we go on a whim so I wanted to go ahead have it. We usually sit on beach towels. Between all the bulky beach towels and the sand getting everywhere when you try to shake them off, I know our "on a whim" trips to the beach will be painless. I posted a picture of the mat in the bag beside a folded towel. The towel once spread out is a fraction of the size of the mat. Now we can just have a towel each for drying off making our day trips less bulky. It would have been nice if some instructions were included to use this as a makeshift tent. I don't have a clue.

Works great for picnics.Pros1. It is waterproof2. The stakes provided with it are useful do a good job at holding it down3. small and light weightIt would be a base layer for a picnic on grass. The material is a like thin waterproof tarp.Only complaint, it can be a pain to fold and takes effort to get back into the bag it came in. I just use a different bag.Overall- if you need something waterproof to lay-down on wet grass. I'd say this works. But if your looking for a beach blanket. I wouldn't recommend it.

Very impressed with how good the quality of this beach blanket is & that it comes with 6 pegs so you can peg it down to the ground if you need to! I love the great idea of the pockets in each corner that can be filled with sand to hold it down on the beach if windy! It is also waterproof which is another big plus,the size is good & its also perfect for picnics,days out or in the garden..I also like the pocket for keeping valuables safe,nice little added extra!It folds down really small which is perfect for when you go for days out as you already cart enough stuff about without a large heavy beach blanket! I would definitely recommend this!

I was looking for a large lightweight blanket to purchase to bring to the beach when I take my 2 little kids (toddler and infant) to the beach. I wanted something large, easy to clean up, lightweight and does not take up a lot of space when folded up. I read through quite a few reviews of various items before deciding to order this blanket. When it arrived, I was a little skeptical because the material wasn't what I was expecting. It kind of feels like a tent or tarp vs a blanket, but considering the fact that I was bringing an old, thin flat sheet to the beach previously, I wasn't deterred. Surprisingly, the blanket was comfortable enough and fulfilled my beach needs. It comes with plastic stakes so I can be sure it doesn't fly away during the occasional beach breezes, and it folds up easily, fitting back into its carrying pouch. The size was perfect for 2 adults, a toddler to roam and an infant inside a portable pop-up tent plus all of our beach gear. When it was time to clean up spills, a simple wet wipe did the trick. Sand also easily slid off the surface. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

This blanket was great. My family used it for the park and we liked how large it was since we have a smaller baby who is still crawling so it gave him plenty of space to crawl around and still enjoy some park time. I like that I could easier stake the corners down with the provided stakes! A windy day was no problem so my son didn’t get it blown over his head haha the side pockets for you phone or whatever you want to keep in there we’re cool. I like that it’s waterproof as well since park grass is usually wet or damp enough to soak through normal blankets. Summer is going to be warm here so our next venture will be to try it out over the kids swing set in the summer for shade and see how it does! Def a solid blanket for the price!

We bought this for a Caribbean cruise that had beach stops. Instead of packing bulky beach towels, we threw this tiny bag into our backpack and it was so light and small, I was afraid it was going to be useless. But unfolding it out of the bag and spreading it out, it was plenty large enough for both of us with room to spare. In fact, we were able to cover two lounge chairs with enough extra to hang over the back and sides so that it stayed in place. When we were ready to walk back to the ship, we just shook it out to clean off the sand, then rolled it back up into a tight little ball to put it back in the bag. And it didn’t have that slick, nylon feel - it was very comfortable to sit on in the heat.

I just got this in the mail today. Ordered it two evenings ago so came very quick. Perfect size as far as being very light and small packaging. I would say it ways about a pound. Really good quality tent material and very durable. I would say if you laid it on a wet surface it would stay dry. Perfect to keep in the back of your car or even a back pack. I will be bringing This in my luggage to Crete to have while I travel around the Island beaches. Highly recommend it if your looking for a good beach towel that won’t hold onto sand. This should stay very clean and easy to clean. Perfect for Babies or little kids as well

Love this thing. I was a little hesitant when purchasing that the material would feel like a hard, uncomfortable tarp. It's surprisingly comfortable and big enough for a few people. The material gets warm but definitely not hot or enough to burn your feet/hands/body. I did not have a hard time getting this back in the bag. Just need to fold it up.Main reason I got this was because I went to an event after it rained and my cotton towel absorbed water like a sponge. Interested to see how well this does on damp grass... I'll have to update the review after I test it out. But very happy with initial usage.Also, my toddlers feet get tangled in cotton towels. You can stake this down. She can walk all over without tripping. Awesome.
