Great value, nice looking, with a good seller
After having the very expensive popular name brand case last less than six months before the rear tabs broke off, making it easy for the laptop to slip out of the shell, I needed a different case. (The manufacturer of those did replace the first one under warranty, but when the replacement broke just past six months they told me that "the year was up.") If this case lasts six months only I'm way ahead - way better price. The design at the rear corners is slightly different so I'm hoping that'll make it last longer, and the material itself seems thicker and tougher. ("thicker" being relative... a couple fractions of a fraction of an inch...) I think the blue looks really good, too. The case surface feels like it should be slippery, looks that way, but there's a slight texture there when you pick up the computer with this case on, that makes it feel more secure than your first impression would think. The case fits snugly - snugly enough that putting it on wasn't a breeze, but if it went on effortlessly it'd come off effortlessly. I don't much care for the legs in the back, don't like my keyboard at that angle, but I know others who think it's the best feature. If you don't use the legs, you've got grip on the edge near you but the back is slippery folded plastic legs. I've put a little friction tape on the legs so that the rear holds on too. The keyboard cover is cool, and I really liked it initially, but for some reason it changed the feel enough that I could no longer type as fast, so I'm not using it. My wife took it for her MacBook, though, and loves it. The price is excellent just for the case, so if you also like the cover, consider it a bonus... if you don't, your significant other may like it. I have the iPearl cases on my work MacBook Air 13, and on my 15 inch MacBook Pro Retina, and everything I said above - including how poorly the original cases from another brand held up - apply equally. My Air's case is black, and while the blue looks a lot better (personal opinion), the black fits in nicely with all the other black laptops on the conference tables at work. The seller has been really eager to be helpful, and that's a good thing. Do follow the tips and instructions they send - they're good.

A surprisingly awesome hard shell case!
Before settling on this hard shell, I scoured the web for ANY Incase, Speck, and Hard Candy that would fit my new baby, the Retina MacBook Pro. I wanted a name brand for quality, after all. However, when I couldn't find anything in stock (excluding one pink case made by Speck), I found this case on Amazon. At first, I will admit, I was a bit hesitant to buy a case for my new $2,000+ laptop from a brand I'd never heard of. But I gave it a shot anyway. Low and behold, this case is in fact just as good - dare I say BETTER? - than any Speck or Incase hard shell I have put on my old MacBook Pro. Pros: -Easy attachment to the body of the laptop. -Looks great! I personally disagree with the reviewer who doesn't like the four bumps on top of the case - they are hardly even noticeable. -Design does not add much bulk to the laptop itself. In fact, it fits quite easily in to my old Incase sleeve I used for my "old" (2010) MacBook Pro with the case on. -Appears as if it will show fewer scratches than most clear hard-shell cases. If you've ever owned on by Speck, you know how easily these things scratch. However, this case isn't *quite* as clear as Speck's, which will likely make it more conducive to hiding small scratches. -Fold-out legs for convenient desktop use. I've never seen this on a hard shell case before, but I love it! It makes for much easier typing. -Price: for $20, the price point can't be beat. And my case came with a free keyboard cover and stylus. Sure beats paying almost $50 for competitors' products. Cons: -Keyboard cover sticks to display upon opening laptop. This one doesn't relate to the product in question itself; however, if this company is going to include a keyboard cover with its products, it should ensure that it won't stick to the screen. In defense of iPearl, though, many other keyboard covers for the rMBP have similar issues. -Fold-out legs snap back in quite harshly - I've yet to notice any scratches/marks from folding the legs in and out, though I would recommend to any buyers to use caution when doing so to prevent damage to their new shiny Macs. Verdict: -For anyone who doesn't feel like shelling out $50 for a hard shell, this is a great way to protect your new device. In fact, you may never go back those other brands after using this product. Don't be put off by the unknown brand name like I was! You will miss out on a quality hard case. And let's not forget to mention the free extras - a keyboard cover and stylus!

Fits, doesn't block anything
The case fits the model it's designed for properly, and that's the most important thing. It seems like it will stay in place just fine. The material doesn't slide around or bow. No ports or vents are blocked - some of the other cases available at this early stage look like they partly block ports and may even block the main vents. I would actually rather this case had a little more material beneath the ports, at least extending all the way to the bottom side edges. No cable plugged into a port is going to benefit from that exposed bottom rim, though it's not likely to be exposed to damage (because the case does extend all the way around at all side and front corners). There are a lot of venting slits on the bottom piece, which serve zero purpose for this model of laptop. All the computer's venting seems to be done through slots on the side and at the rear of the lid joint. So this means the bottom is somewhat less protected by the case than it could be, at least from being poked from underneath. On the plus side, the actual vents are correctly left uncovered. The plastic is sort of lightly translucent instead of transparent. I would prefer clear, because I've found matte surfaces show scratches more blatantly, just like beadblasted metal. I was concerned about the fold-out legs on the bottom - in the pictures they don't look like they could be strong enough to hold a fairly heavy laptop up - but actually they seem to be pretty strong as long as you don't smack the laptop down on them when they're deployed. I don't plan to use them, though, and would rather they weren't there. Especially because they don't have any rubber padding when folded (or extended) and could therefore scratch a table surface if you dragged the whole assembly across it. There are four little bumps on the lid part, which I guess are meant to serve as standoffs (tiny feet) in case you set it upside-down. Maybe they help prevent scratches from inverted sliding, or something. I see no real need for them and they are a marginal eyesore, but it's excessive to dock the product three stars for this. Overall, it fits, with no deal-killers.

Perfect for my new macbook pro!!
First off let me say the shipping was soooo quick! I received this item a day later!! I was hestating on get this case because the other company had way more reviews, although it did cost 5 bucks more for the other brand. But I decided to go with ipearl for 2 reasons, one was the video review that a customer had on this and how he compared it to the other brand that was popular and 2 I had brought a case from ipearl 4 years ago and it still was in good condition, so I knew their quality. The case I had before was a pink macbook pro 2011 non retina, 13 and I still have that case on that laptop till today. Never had issues with it and it was see through so my decal can still show through. This case is more prettier than my last case 4 years ago, I loveeee the hot pink and I am a huge pink lover. It comes with a keyboard as well, it looks good quality but I just wished it was a hot pink to match my case. Ipearl also includes a free stylus which is cool. The reviews here arent specific enough and their wasnt any pics specifying the keyboard color, so if you ordered a clear case you will get a clear keyboard. Ive seen the clear cases and they look nice I think their perfect when you want to add a notebook skin. Although its not bulky it does add some weight to it, but thats ok because the new macbooks feel so thin and fragile. This fits my mid 2015 macbook pro 15 inch retina display perfectly! I love the feel and material of it as well, its really smooth and its see through enough to see the logo. Im awaiting my decal for my final touch. I ve had this brand before and as I stated it lasted those 4 yrs till now, I ve just upgraded my macbook. although the other brand has a lot more reviews and is more popular I dont regret my buying decision. The other brand was t see through enough for me I am in love with this case and would even get a purple one just to have options! Hopes this helps anyone who wasnt sure if this would fit their latest macbook pro retina :)

Perfect case for MBP Retina
I wanted a case for my new MacBook Pro Retina 15 and while there are many choices available the iPearl mCover Hard Shell was the perfect one. I wanted a hard case and not a sleeve or cover that would be durable and obviously protect my computer from abuse while not adding extra weight and bulk to the device. This case is perfect for the job. It fits exactly with very tight tolerances to the Retina version of the MacBook Pro while still allowing access to all ports and intake air vents on the sides. I chose the clear version and it shows off the MacBook very well and the plastic is hardly noticeable until looking up close. The Apple logo is clearly visible lit and unlit. This case does not add too much extra weight and bulk which is nice since the Retina version is so much thinner than the previous generation. The case wraps around the edges and corners which is usually the prime location for dings so it is great that it will be protected. The rubber feet give it added traction to a slick surface but there are only two near the front. It would be better if there were rubber feet on all four corners as well as on the retractable feet. The retractable feet are a nice addition to elevate the computer on a desk. Installation was easy enough. The two pieces just snap on to the chassis. Installing the top half for the screen requires a bit of gentle pressure especially since the Retina display is more fragile so don't force the case onto the computer. There is very tight tolerances between the case and chassis and there is not any noticeable movement between the parts. The screen closes flush to the computer so there is no blockage anywhere. Removing the case is a bit more tricky since it is on tight. Like before, just apply gentle pressure but don't force it off. They threw in some extra goodies like a keyboard cover and stylus for touchscreen devices. I haven't used them and this is not a review for them but I will say thank you for the extras. Overall, this case is perfect fit and finish for the MacBook Pro Retina 15 and hopefully will provide superior protection for an expensive device. I definitely recommend this case to anyone who has a MacBook Pro Retina 15 and wants to keep it protected.

After a year of usage, still going strong!!!
This is the only case I have ever owned and will ever need. This case holds up really well since I bought this a year ago, and I still use it to this day. I carry my laptop around everywhere, so this case is a lifesaver for me. It keeps the actual laptop from not being scratched, tainted, or dirtied from unsanitary and sanitary surfaces alike, and I love the legs because I enjoy having a slight elevation when I use my laptop. Interestingly enough, people have even complimented the case because of the legs! One thing that I love and hate is how the case is a very, very, very snug fit, so I'm too scared to actually take the case off from the worry of cracking it. The reason why I have this worry is because if I ever buy a different case and want to swap it out back and forth, I won't be able to do it easily. All in all though, the snug fit is actually good, but it's just that I have my personal close-to-irrelevant problem. The keyboard cover was pretty much useless for me since my laptop is a Japanese model, so the keyboard is set up differently. However, even if I did have the English model, I don't think I would have even used it because the feel wasn't that great and it wasn't the best looking either. The logo on the spacebar was a big turnoff, but if you're the kind of person who doesn't care for the looks, then it could be good for you! Note: The case is not a pure clear. I got the clear version, but it was more close to translucent than clear. It's not glossy and shiny, which didn't bother me but I can imagine some people may not like, so please keep that in mind before purchasing! Summary: -Still going strong after a year of usage -Snug fit -Legs (still not broken after a year) -Keeps laptop clean -Keeps laptop scratch-free -Translucent, not clear -Case went beyond my expectations -Keyboard cover was not up to expectations

A solid minimal case choice.
So, this is a solid plastic ("polycarbonate") case for the retina macbook 15. It fits well. the top cover is easy to put on the wrong way around, because the instructions don't have a diagram, they're just text. There are arrows printed on the top cover but the instructions don't mention them. They should point towards the vent at the back. I put the top cover on the wrong way around because of this, and after I did I found the top cover difficult to remove. If you don't have fingernails that are long it's not easy to "pop the tabs" which fit very tightly, and the plastic is rigid and hard and not flexible. The bottom part is not a big deal to remove or to correctly put on, because of the back feet but the top part *is* because you have a fragile display assembly and hinge and it limits how much force you feel you can apply. There is also what I think is a wrong way to try to remove the top cover, and that is to put pressure on one of the tabs with your hand and force it off with the pressure from the inside of the display outward. This results in high forces and I don't think it's a good idea to apply those forces to the screen assembly which does have layers that could come apart - I could see how this could happen if you were particularly ham fisted about how you went about it. The best way is to use a credit card and slide it inside the case toward a tab and then apply leverage from inside the case, much less force is then required to pop the tabs and the case will come off after you get 2 or 3 "popped". So those few things alone led to some anxious moments and regretful feeling about the case early on. However, once it is on properly. I really like the look and design of the case. I don't find the material used to be low quality, it is a strong plastic, lightweight, and with a nice "satin" or frosted finish that feels comfortable and shouldn't have too many issues with fingerprints. It certainly will do a good job with scratch prevention and minor impact prevention, although I don't think it would protect from a serious fall. maybe a little but the plastic is hard and I would think most of the impact force would transfer to the aluminum and it would deform, as is the case when you drop metal objects on hard surfaces. If you are worried about it making the retina macbook bulky, then don't. There is a small trade off having the case but it still feels thin, it is barely noticeable and I do find having it makes me feel better about handling the otherwise very light macbook. Yes, it adds some weight, about 0.8 lb. So you go from ~3 lbs to 4 lbs. But it's not a big deal for what you get. In fact, I prefer a little extra heft, the macbook alone is almost too lightweight for an object it's dimensions. I do have some concern about the extra weight from the top cover (~0.3 lbs) on the lid hinge mechanism, but time will tell, I think it's worth the risk if you want a nice case. The stands on the bottom are really great and I think it's much nicer to type with the macbook in the stand position. They don't have rubber feet covers - that could have been a nice improvement. The case was in good condition but not perfect when I received it. It had a small nick or imperfection on the cover. It is a minor thing and I wasn't about to return it for that, because I wanted to get the macbook protected, and It is the kind of thing that happens with plastic. I've thought about deducting a star for that, but I won't. I think dirt between the macbook and the cover could maybe result in small abrasive scratches on the macbook if you didn't clean it once in a while, but you would definitely get those from using an uncovered macbook anyway, and the last macbook I had I dented and abraded the aluminum finish, which definitely reduces it's resale value when the time comes. To me that is the main function of the case, to preserve finish for resale value, provide a stand and provide some minimal protection from bangs. I do like that the stand will help increase airflow space when the mac heats up by lifting it from the surface and allowing the hot bottom plate to radiate through the bottom holes. That is a good idea and it also keeps this rather hot macbook generation (when playing a game or other heavy activity anyhow) from touching directly your thigh or lap, which is a bonus. All in all, I can completely recommend this case. Yes, it's not as nice as having the macbook naked, but if you hate scratching things that are "perfect" like apple products and expensive to replace parts on, then this is some peace of mind, and the design is quite well done here with no ugly logos and clean lines that still explode the beauty of this excellent laptop. It also makes no difference to using the macbook, the tabs visible in previous video review here are not there so it doesn't bother me typing. The macbook itself is slightly uncomfortable on the bottom edge anyway.

Fits well and is light weight, great for the price
I bought a new MacBook Pro 15" under the duress of my old Mac giving up the ghost, - and I added this case without a lot of time to think about my purchase. So I wasn't expecting much since the price was so low, but I had always been frustrated with the neoprene skin that I used to have to pack my laptop into when I carried it to meetings. I am delighted with this product. It has proved to be a serendipitous impulse purchase that really worked out. I don't miss my stretchy, relatively heavy neoprene case with a zipper that I had to make an effort to put on and take off. This case is equally light in weight, if not lighter, and it quickly snapped into place on my new computer. I leave it on all the time and forget about it but have the security it's protecting my investment. My regret in this impulse purchase is that I didn't go with one of the cool colors that are offered. I'm an artist and my Mac just looks like a Mac because I bought the clear case. If I had been thinking I could have zipped up my life a bit with the color choices, but I figure, as an artist I can easily slip a transparent image of my own work inside the case and really have a Wow presentation. One note about the keyboard cover - I haven't used these in the past, but I found this interfered with my typing. I had also ordered a separate keyboard cover that was not a freebie and, though thinner and a little better in quality, it still interfered with my typing, so now I am going naked and typing faster. I think the keyboard cover - which fit on all of my apple keyboards BTW - would be a very good thing to have if sharing a computer with someone who is ill or who has a compromised immune system. My sis has cancer and chemo, and I am glad to have this cover because when I visit her it will be easier to clean and allow her to use my keyboard with out worry of keyboard grungies from me. I plan to keep it around for those times but not for regular use.

Ottima

Amazing cover
Check the photos, and believe it or not, the cover is installed in my Mac. This case fits so well in a MacBook that you almost can't see that it is there. Very well made and really protects the corners of the screen and the MacBook. The foldable feet rise the MacBook to a very comfortable position to work. I recommend it to everyone that wants a really transparent case protection for your MacBook.

Comes with a keyboard protector as well (US)
This is a really good case on the cheap end, it does not fit perfectly on one corner, so the clip there is loose, but it does not make a difference in the use. The keyboard protector though being great is sadly for US keyboards, you can use it on a UK keyboard as ell, but the layout of the right side enter key differs, so it looks slightly off. Still, for the price, it deserves 5 stars. I ordered a Uk keyboard protector now for my personal MacBook pro, and use the one I got here on the work laptop. Great to keep the keys from getting dirty and greasy (getting stuck is an issue on some MacBook pro's.
