Good PSU at a good Price
I'm not a hardcore gamer with 4 way sli running games at 4k on 3 monitors.I'm a normal gamer, playing an hour or two a day on a standard 1080p lcd monitor with 1 video card and no overclocking. This has everything I could want. It is modular so no unnecessary cables, cables are nice and click in place. It has some weight which makes it look and feel sturdy. The silent mode is a nice feature, fan does not turn on until needed which is 90% of the time. Supposed to reduce noise but even with my computer on my desk (no case) I can't hear it when it starts. When it does start I'm playing some demanding game like Star Citizen and the noise coming from the cpu and gpu fan is so loud that the 120mm fan from the psu can't get trough anyway. As I said a nice feature but not a game changer.650W more than enough for what I have.Nothing bad to say about this, price is good, quality is there, feature are there.-PS my computer:AMD FX-8350 cpu stock fan and clockGTX970 gpu (Gygabyte G1 Gaming edition)1 hdd1 ssd8gb ram 1600MHz in 2 sticks

Great PSU for an even Greater Price
The Corsair RM Line of PSUs are great. I personally own the 650 variant and could not be happier.Pros-- Very Silent Operation. I never hear the PSU and my case is on my desk, 1 1/2 Feet away from me. The fan Never turns on while on the desktop or using simple applications such as Youtube/steam/Skype Etc. Only when Im playing very demanding game does the Fan turn on. And even then, I cant hear it.- Modular. This is a given- Flat Black Individually sleeved Cables. The cables look so good if you have a case with good routing options.Cons-The flat black cables are a pain (In my opinion) to cable route. I suggest breaking any cable you use in first before using them. And by breaking in I mean bending back and forth the cable so its not so stiff

I have caught the upgrade bug and I'm very glad I purchased this PSU
Got this for my first build. At the time, it was overkill, but I knew I wanted to upgrade at some point in the future. Sure enough, I have caught the upgrade bug and I'm very glad I purchased this PSU! I currently have it pushing a 4690k that is overclocked and an r9 390 GPU. Some would say that the r9 390 needs more juice than this unit (650) can provide. After doing some research, I learned that was not the case at all. This PSU puts out 54amps on the 12 volt rail. Long story short, that means this unit really does deliver 648 of power and it had handled my system just fine. Modular design with tons of plug up options, there is really nothing to dislike about this unit. I highly recommend to first time builders.

I like it for the Modular feature
Seems to work very well with my build, I4770k, GTX750TI, 2 SSD and 2 HDD, BluRay drive, Gigabyte Z87, Corsair 32gb Dominator Platinum 1866, Corsair H75 water cooler all in a Corsair 230t case. My idle temps are at 23c. I am not noticing the fan coming on for the power supply. Just a side note in order to use corsair link with the power supply you must buy the link kit. Took one star off on this power supply because I spent 4 to 6 hours trying to figure out why I could not get my main SSD recognized in Bios to install windows on it. I finally replaced the Sata cable with one I had from a previous build and it worked. So just know that there is a chance you might receive a bad cable.

Cables
1st time I used the corsair. Had a different power supply die on me, so I purchased this one to replace it. Took me a while to figure out that the 2x3 pin was supposed to fit onto the 2x2 connector on my motherboard and have the two hang over the edges (very older mobo Foxconn 2ab1). The cables that come with it have clips on either side to connect into the motherboard and the psu to keep them snug. This is on either side, they don't "clip" into the psu, so it just sits in while connected. Slight nudges to the box therefore will power down the unit. This unit is modular so it's nice to not have extra cables when they aren't needed. But because the cables can't seem to clip in properly, sometimes only one fan in from my gpu will spin, the other won't until I push the the cable in (as it seems to have wiggled itself out of a seemingly snug fit. The unit is usable and will suffice until I need a new one, but I pretty much cannot touch my computer and the weird cable management because it's a hassle to try to get the unit powered on again without sorting out if everything is actually plugged in and working properly.

Lots of extra cables with 80 Plus Gold-Certified is perfect!!!
Spend the extra money for a good power supply and protect the rest of your investment.....it's as simple as that. The Corsair RM 650 watt was a little more than I needed at the moment but allows for additional upgrades in the future. The flat cables are a little bit of a pain trying to get them to bundle up and look nice but, in a mid-tower case they are long enough that I had plenty of room to get everything hooked up and looking nice. Unless I'm running something very intense and require a lot of CPU time the fan never comes on.......very quiet and energy efficient. Good service, good product............what else could you ask for?
