Terro T800 Garbage Guard Trash Can Insect Killer - Kills Flies, Roach, Maggots, Beetles, and Insects in Outdoor Garbage Can

It’s pretty hot here in Florida, and the garbage cans are prone to having hundreds of flys around them. This is the third ‘Garbage Guard Pest Strip’ I’ve purchased off Amazon, and over all I am very satisfied. They indeed solve the problem, work very fast, and flys are no longer an issue. Not sure if they last for the claimed four months though, because mine always come unstuck after about six weeks by the garbage truck when it shakes the garbage can to empty it. But for the price, six weeks is pretty good. A couple of little criticisms though. Removing both pieces of paper on the sticky thing that holds it onto the garbage can lid is a pain, and it takes me ages to do. Maybe add a tab or something, so they are easier to remove. Also, as mentioned above, they fall off prematurely. For me, they would be much better if a stronger adhesive could be used.

I was SHOCKED how well this tiny thing works! I live in an HOA so our trash cans have to stay in the designated area which is just a couple feet from the front door and with a cat and dog to clean up after in the Florida heat, ew. After seeing maggot #482, I decided to try this. Idk what kind of witchcraft is in it but it doesn't really have a smell/odor yet keeps ALL maggots and flies absolutely away. Gone. No where to be seen. I did have an issue with it sticking with the included sticky things so I ended up cutting a command strip in half and using that instead with no further problems falling off. After about 8 weeks, I unfortunately knocked the device off when breaking down a piece of particle board furniture but the shoo fly power hadn't deminished any at that time so I feel very confident in ordering another.

I have purchased this Terro T800 several times for my Simply Human stainless kitchen trash can. The first application in 2023 worked well and kept tiny fruit flies and larvae from sticking to the inside and hatching almost overnight. This first one lasted about 5 months and was very effective. I found that the double sided adhesive tape held well and was even hard to remove it all for future applications. The problem now with the 2d and 3d units was that first, there was no adhesive included in the top half of the pouch that you have to cut off to use,it was not included!! I had to use a separate double stick tape for it to work. The 3d unit had very poor adhesive nand the expensive plastic insect killer fell off the lid and was lost in the trash where I did not see that it was missing until a week later. Besides being over priced, someone needs to make a better adhesive for this product. When it works it works fine for a long time and I now use a spray “ZEVO” can spray one a week with a new bag at quite a savings.

Update... I had originally given this 5⭐ but after just about 1 months need to lower my rating. These are supposed to last 3-4 months but just after 1 month theounting tape has failed and both of them have fallen off and ended in the trash truck! I will order more and give it another go as they did work well while they were attached . Until the company comes up with a better way of attaching them to the trash can plan on getting repeat delivery and replacing everyonth. These are amazing! I get so grossed out when I take out the trash and it is swarming with flies and covered in maggots! I always feel so bad for the trash collectors that have to deal with it. I purchased these and immediately stuck them inside the lids of my trash cans. Within 2 days there were dead flies on the bottom of the can! This little tiny thing killed all of them! I will definitely buy more for my other can! The can that didn't have it was full of flies and maggots but not the cans with it. It did make a huge difference. There is no smell, it is easy to install, sticks well and is very effective, (Says it lasts 3 months so I will be watching and update my review if it does not.)

high star rating, but do not yet know if it kills/killed any insects -- the 1" square sticky, sticks well, but was difficult to get the backing off of both sides -- I installed one under the lid of my "roller" garbage can -- the weather changed and I haven't seen any pests in the garage where the can is so... -- the directions are in tiny print and I have not yet taken a magnifying glass to them so I'm not up on the details other than to see that it kills a fairly large variety of bugs -- I had one thought while installing -- find a place where it won't get hit by the garbage when dumping -- the plastic caseing for the bait/poison is much more durable than I was expecting

We keep our trash in the garage so the dog can’t get into it and I noticed we were getting more bugs in the trash. This has worked great! No more bugs in the trash (and therefore in the house). The first one we had, the adhesive wasn’t great and it fell in the trash and was thrown out before I noticed; but I got a second one as soon as I did.

I figured if one of these is good, two will be even better so I used some gorilla double sided tape to mount the two little containers of insect killer on the inside top of my garbage can lid. Before there were always flies buzzing around because it gets really hot here in the summer and when I looked into the garbage can I knew something had to be done. So after washing out the garbage can real good with some disinfectant spray cleaner I installed these and they are working great. I even see dead flies around the rim of the garbage can and some dying inside. This stuff works! Don't doubt it. I would however wear a face mask next time I install these because this is not a scented product and you can't tell if you are breathing any in yourself. I suggest they scent it slightly so you'd know! I advise only using this in an open area and OUTSIDE! This is not for indoor use! Now each time I got to put the garbage out I am not attacked by flying insects! It is great. I'd definitely get more of these next summer. I am using two at a time! They will last 4 months! The product isn't working as it was shown. The package seal was loose. The double side tape was missing. The flies wasn't seen for a day or two after that the product seemed disappeared for flies or may be the flies were using some kind of mask to avoid the smell. It's been over a month and not happy with the results.

Reading the previous reviews, I was a bit skeptical byuing it. But I can tell you that it works well the day I put it in. Flies are still around the bin but always ended up dying. No more maggots and bad smell. So happy. Back to buy a couple more. 100% recommend this products.
