Also works on an Arcade1up 4-1 Tempest Asteroids Lunar Lander Major Havoc
Works perfectly. Only took a couple of minutes to install and spins like the original arcade spinner. If you've got the Arcade1Up 4 in 1 with the original horrible spinner, this what you need!

Total ripoff
Superior mod item for Arcade 1up Tempest. I speak for many when saying it is a must to have this upgrade. Wow!

Should have just bought this in the first place
I recently purchased Arcade1up's Asteroids cabinet during a sale at FYE. I knew about the issues with the lackluster "spinner" that comes with the cabinet, so I knew I was going to have to replace it. I was tossed between this upgrade and Arcade1up's own replacement that they sell on their website. I decided to try to save a few bucks by buying Arcade1up's version. After installing it, I realize I had made a mistake. Arcade1up's version is decently made for being mostly plastic, but it's WAY too sensitive to reasonably play Tempest and Major Havoc with, with no way to adjust the sensitivity. Someone on Reddit determined it was approximately 3.2x too sensitive. This makes the gameplay not just erratic, but it also causes Major Havoc specifically to get super jittery and weird when the spinner is spun too fast. In Tempest, the precision you need is nearly impossible to achieve with it. For a spinner built specifically for this cabinet (and a version 2.0 nonetheless!) it's absolutely mind blowing that Arcade1up would release a spinner like this, and have the gall to charge almost $30 by the time basic shipping is factored in!Frustrated, I caved and ordered this Thunderstick spinner on this page. What a WORLD of difference! It's as easy as you could possibly ask for to install, and the build quality is so good you'd swear you were playing with an original Tempest spinner in the arcade. Not only that, but the sensitivity out of the box is PERFECTLY adjusted to play Tempest and Major Havoc (and it has dip switches if you ever need to change that). Night and day better than anything Arcade1up will sell you. They thought of every little thing, even including a little spacer to put under the spinner to give it a little extra space if you're using a plexiglass cover on the control panel (which I HIGHLY recommend!)My only super minor complaint is that I don't for the life of me understand why the default color for the top of the spinner is silver--it really doesn't match anything on the Arcade1up cabinets it's made for. Luckily, there are alternative colors available to purchase separately https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QYSHKB3/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_RcHcEb43WRD0C

Perfect for DIY Arcade (with 12-in-1 control board from tsticks)
This was perfect to use for my DIY arcade machine. I had to purchase the 12-in-1 control board for it to make it recognized as a USB mouse (you do not need this if you are replacing the spinner in an Arcade1up machine...only if you're converting it to usb for other types of setups). In that mode, it only has mouse x-axis, but that's all the spinner needs to work.I also had to crank the sensitivity up to max on the spinner's control board, but there are dip switches to do that and instructions showing the settings for each switch. For my setup, I basically just cranked the sensitivity up to maximum (all dip switches in ON position) and it works like a champ.Took only about 30 minutes to install and fiddle with configurations to get it working. The spinner itself also feels very solid. It's made of aluminum, with knurling around the circumference of the spinner, so it's got a fantastic feel and weight.

PLAY ATARI TEMPEST LIKE IT WAS MEANT TO BE PLAYED!
I bought this, and the 12 in 1 interface board which you need on the 12 in 1 to connect both the spinner and trackball at the same time, after seeing it on Glen's Retro Show on YouTube. All I can say is if you like Tempest and Major Havoc and want to play them on your Arcade 1Up Asteroids, 12 in 1 or 6 in 1 cabinets like they were meant to be played, BUY IT! There isn't much I can say here that virtually all the other five star reviews haven't already said. Reiterating some, it is a first rate arcade quality spinner, complete with everything you need to install (except some of your time - NOT MUCH and a phillips screwdriver), instructions are with it as are the URL for Glen's Retro Show YouTube videos on it too and the 12 in 1 interface board for review and installation, if you would rather watch than read. It has a small spacer to make up for the control panel protector thickness - if you have one. There are no wires to cut, solder or modify, just plug and play. This is a high quality smooth spinning spinner of which , honestly, the only one that is better is on the original Atari Tempest Arcade Coin-Op. (I know, I own one of those too.) This will make playing Tempest like it should have been from the start. This was so little cost even for both it and the interface board Arcade 1 Up likely could have / should certainly have done this themselves to begin with and likely their sales would have been even higher. JUST BUY THIS, INSTALL IT AND ENJOY THE GAMES INSTEAD OF GETTING UPSET AND FRUSTRATED WITH THE "UN-SPINNER" THAT CAME WITH THE MACHINE.

way better than the original a1up spinner
I actually prefer to use this spinner with the knob completely OFF the panel... I just spin the smaller inner knob - with Asteroids it keeps the spinner out of the way of my right hand and when playing Tempest its actually more accurate when dialing in where to put your player to fire... I found the large spinner makes it less accurate to my eye / hand movement but the inner knob seemed to match my moves to the game better... you get less of that wild free spin but more control and I get my controller board back for Asteroids (I have a 6 in 1)...So the verdict is for me - the spinner is great and even better with that fat heavy knob out of my way - just use the internal dial instead...
