Good purchase
A soft creamy pink, not with the silver undertones that make me look ill. Lovely texture, moisturising but not greasy. Colour becomes deeper with more layers but is still soft. Quite expensive but worth it when l remember how many cheaper pink lipsticks l have thrown away because the colour is wrong.

Great cover
have now bought this twice, it is a very moisturising lipstick and had great staying put power, even after eating. love it.

Ice cream pucker!
First of all, the packaging for this Gelato lipstick is absolutely gorgeous - a black cardboard box covered with neon lip prints (check out my attached photo). Once you get inside, the lipstick itself is a bit unconventional - two tubes one inside the other, the inner one sliding out when you press on the ‘Elizabeth Arden’ logo on the outer tube. The product formulation is creamier and thicker than I was expecting - somehow the name suggested a sheer gloss to me, and that’s not at all what you get. The Cherry Up shade is much pinker and less red than the stock photo implies and is actually quite retro looking - a bit like my mums 60s makeup with an almost coral tint. The colour is pretty intense, but not dry like vintage lippie - nice and rich and moisturising. I’ve tested a few Elizabeth Arden products via the Vine scheme recently - not a brand I’ve purchased myself in years - but been seriously impressed with their recent offerings. This Gelato lipstick is no exception.

A colour wash lipstick
The first trick is how you open it. You slide the Arden tag to release the bullet.I'm disappointed with this. I own several Arden lipsticks and have found them to be quality formulas that have great pigmentation and formulas. To me this is not a lipstick, it's more of raspberry lip butter/salve. The only way to get a solid coverage it to apply it over a pencil. Maybe I'm not getting the point maybe call it a sorbet to reflect the lighter colour and coverage it actually gives? ;)It's not the cherry-esq red you see in the picture, a softer raspberry with what feels like a menthol in it to give it a faux lip plumping effect. I personally didn't notice any difference in size but it does give a mild tingle. It's not bad but read the detail, if you're expecting a lipstick (coverage) you won't get it.I still love Arden and my lips do feel nice and moisturised wearing it. It's nice to wear now it's hot and you don't want to feel over made up and caked in makeup.(in the photo I am wearing a nude lip pencil for the gelato to 'cling' to otherwise the sun just washed the colour out)

Leaves lips feeling wet and has a strange cool tingle. Doesn't noticably plump lips.
This is a review for Cherry Up!The shade appears as quite a bright red, but when applied to the lips, it is a little bit peachy red instead. It looks quite nice on, but it is very balmy and stays quite wet on the lips, so it transfers very easily to skin, cups, glasses and so on.The lip stick supposedly gives a cool plumping effect, but the only thing I perceived was a cool tingling effect on my lips, that felt a bit odd. I did not have any visible plumping of my lips and I find this claim hard to believe.Overall, it is a nice shade of lippy, but I don't like that it doesn't dry or the tingly effect it has on my lips.

Longevity issue
Creamy and balmy, quite sheer, but sadly that means not too long lasting.Lovely colour - less cherry red, and more tomato but still a good red as not too "in your face" like some reds and scarlets. The lack of high density pigments is probably a factor in that sense of it being a step down in intensity. If I was a regular red lipstick user I'd find this quite wearable, but the longevity is the main issue for me hence stars dropped in the rating.

Vibrant and moisturising lipstick
The only thing that might give you some pause is how to open this slim lipstick - the answer is to slide the Elizabeth Arden logo upwards. Don't try twisting it as I did!The lipstick itself feels great on and I find it not at all drying. The cherry is a gorgeous, vibrant colour and it lasts fairly well. I think it's a winner and will look at other shades.

Cherry up no. 17
At first I couldn't work out how to open. I knew that the Elizabeth Arden logo needed to be slid across but I couldn't get at the product. Once the lid off the twist action is the usual to reveal the colour. Mine was a lovely cherry. Cherry up number 17 definitely recommended and good on a tanned skin tone. The application was easy with just one application required. There is definitely a mild sensation after use, like toothpaste on the lips. This may be the Ingredients peptides or hylauronic acids. The sheabutter gives a moisturizing glow.
