This powder is as nice as some very high end powders I have purchased over the years. It has no smell and the translucent color is just as pictured. It is very fined milled meaning it is very silky to the touch and goes on smoothly. I like using the sponge applicator as it prevents putting on too much. It does leave a matte finish on my combination skin (dry cheeks, oily t-zone). Poreless? Well, without foundation, it did minimize my pores upon application. As it sank in over the hours, this effect diminished a bit, but my t-zone isn't very oily, just oilier than my outer face. Perhaps if you have very oily skin, the poreless effect won't last all day (as it wouldn't have when I was younger). With foundation, the poreless effect was even better and lasted longer. Now, mind you, the translucent isn't colorless; but rather, it is the palest color offered. I like that it isn't mask like and tops off foundation is a very nice way. I am careful to not put much, if any, on any wrinkles I have as it can accentuate these. I put a light dusting on my cheeks and chin, and go a bit heavier on my nose and forehead. It seems to blend and smooth the look of my makeup and it sets it so it lasts longer (pretty much all day). Because I use a light touch, which is easy to do with the enclosed sponge, it doesn't get cakey or flakey. I will stick with this wonderful powder from now on instead of paying up to $50 bucks more for the high end stuff from now on. I'm glad I tried it. It came quickly too with Prime.

The oily spots on my face? Perfect, smooth, beautiful. The dry spots? Not the greatest. I could see how flaky my skin looked up close, but not from a distance-- it shows up in pictures strong, though. If you do have dry patches of skin, I recommend packing it on your face and then brushing downwards to smooth things. It controls how strong the texture looks. As long as I brush down and don't swirl, it keeps everything under control! I pack it on my face all over to keep the coverage I have from my foundation/concealer-- if you swirl it around it'll remove some of the product underneath, I've found, which is normal for setting powders. So, I pack it on, and then brush it down to get rid of texture. After that I have baby smooth skin, and it lasts for most of the day! I put four stars for sheerness because it gives some coverage-- with the right technique as I've mentioned, it won't take any of the main coverage from underneath. I do break out a little, but it's not too bad, especially if I maintain my skincare routine after. I only wear makeup every once in awhile, so this is likely biased on my end. If you wear makeup daily and have sensitive skin, I would expect small breakouts that may spread more if you continue using it.

I've been through a lot of trial and error with setting powders ever since I started wearing makeup 15 years ago. I've tried plenty of drugstore and high end ones and this powder has been the best so far out of every powder I tried. I've been using it for at least 6 years now and I always repurchase. It's matte but does not dry out my dry skin at all, it doesn't look cakey, and it keeps makeup set for a very long time when used with primer & setting spray. I use the translucent one and It's perfect for setting my foundation, liquid highlight, & contour stick all at the same time! I have no complaints at all about this one.

The translucent shade leaves a white cast instead of being truly translucent, also I don't notice this having any more mattifying power than the average powder, I still get oily super quickly while wearing this

I have tried many different drugstore powders and this one is by far the best. Undetectable on skin. Doesn't settle into lines. Lasts all day with some natural fading towards end of night. It mattifies without making you too flat. I have repurchased it for about 5-7 years now. The loreal infallible comes close but it does settle into lines. This one doesn't! So I'm happy with the price and the wear. 💯 recommend this. You can wear it alone or over foundation. For light coverage use brush for medium I use a damp beauty sponge and pat it on right over sunscreen. For concealer around eyes use fingertips.
