Actually useful for middle school cursive
I have purchased so many of these for for my daughter and they are supposed to be for teens but they all look like they were created for elementary students. The learning cursive with Anne of Green gables is too easy and the letters are too big. My daughter enjoys a challenge and likes her cursive to resemble the actual letters written by people back in the day. This book fits the bill for everyday practice. It’s small like real handwriting, it’s challenging and has really good excerpts. We also use the Spencerian penmanship for more traditional writing.

Small print, typo within the first few pages 🫣
On first glance this looked like a good, basic cursive copywork book. I find the lines to be a bit small, even for someone with excellent cursive, like myself, so it is quite difficult for a child. Also, I randomly found a typo in “The Raven”…”visitor” spelled as “visiter” 😬 we have only been using it for a few weeks so not sure what else we will find.

I love this book
I love this book. My daughter is getting great practice and I find myself tracing over her work (which is traced over the printed words) for practice myself. Since cursive is not included in many schools anymore I want my daughter to have that skill anyway. She's going into 6th grade and last year was the first year she had a teacher who told them they could write/practice cursive for class. I wish I had thought of looking for books like these years ago. My 4 year old will be getting these when he starts writing (especially since he's a lefty!). I will be looking for more of these when she finishes this one.

Great writing selections!
I bought this for my 12 year old son. He has done several cursive books, but this one is his favorite. The selections are perfect, the cursive script is very pretty (not blocky like some), and the perfect length. I'm giving 4 stars only because I wish the book had more writing pages. For the price, it is a rather thin book. That is my only complaint.

We LOVE these books
We LOVE these books! Upon first glance my sons were concerned the lines were too small but now that they have done a few they enjoy them. My son did find a mistake in one section. It was one of the plays and they labelled different ones the same thing. Besides that, we really enjoy this and plan on buying the other books in the series.

Great for adults who want to use their cursive again
I've gotten lazy, and used printing instead of cursive for the last 50 years. I want to get back into the habit of using longhand, and practicing on literary quotes makes it more interesting than a boring drill.

Makes handwriting practice a pleasure
This has been a great success in our household. My two eldest children 11 & 13 loved it to help improve their handwriting, and now the next down the line (8) is clamouring for a copy of her own. I really noticed the benefit of careful copywork on the oldest two's handwriting: they really enjoyed the quotations: it felt more grown up than working in a handwriting manuscript book. Handwriting practice is never going to be the most exciting of activities, but this book at least made it enjoyable for my children.
