Fisher Space Pen Raw Brass Bullet Pen (400-RAW)

It feels good to have a Fisher Space Pen. And this Raw Brass finish is class… value for money.

It's a very good pen looks and feel wise. I had to pay a premium for it but I wish that I had bought the one with the clip for a little more. Now I'm afraid of losing it. From the moment you touch the pen, the shiny brass finish will start to oxidize and for me withing 2 hours it had developed a very aged finish. It's a beautiful pen when new so if you prefer to keep it that way then go for the lacquer finish one. Also it's not the same as shown in the picture since the grip is not embossed for traction, but it doesn't slip due to the rough patina.

There is a reason every other EDC post contains some version of the Fisher Space Pen. With the cap on, the pen is very small and unassuming, definitely small enough to not feel in your pocket. Uncapped, the length is probably too small to comfortably write with (I have larger hands, and uncapped the end of the pen just barely wrests on at my index finger knuckle when writing), but it's perfectly fine with the cap off and placed on the end (bringing tot total length to about the size of a standard pen). I'm a huge fan of wear and patina, so I love the brass finish (see photos). Be aware that the brass will tarnish over time, so if you're not a fan of that you should probably pick a different finish (or it's also easily cleaned off with some household cleaners). Construction feels very solid. The pen writes pretty well. I find that at my normal writing pressure, it ink is maybe a little lighter than I'd like, but it's fine if I press a bit harder. The really cool thing about the ink is that the pressurized cartridge will write in just about any condition you could ever expect to encounter: extreme hot, extreme cold, odd angles, upside down, underwater (this one sounds useless, but by extension, this pen will write on wet paper). I carry a brass one personally, and have gifted several others to friends and family.

J'en avais assez de ne pas avoir un stylo qui écrit quand j'en avais besoin J'ai voulu essayer le space pen dont j'avais entendu parler sans vraiment une grand conviction, et je suis pas déçu C'est un très beau stylo, taille normale avec le capuchon remis sur le corps mais très petit en position fermé. J'avais peur que la version laiton fasse "bling-bling" mais est très jolie et en se patinant sera encore plus à mon goût Après plusieurs essais, c'est vrai qu'il écrit partout et dans toutes les positions et s'il dure aussi longtemps qu'annoncé sans sécher il est vraiment idéal, en plus pour un prix somme toute peu élevé

I have used Fisher Space Pens for a number of years in my last job (police officer) and in my new job (security). They are small, smart and most importantly work. When closed they fit easily and discretely into a pocket and when open they are a nice size for writing. This space pen doesn't have a clip so something to be aware of as it will float to the bottom of a pocket rather than be hooked over the top. Reduces bulk but might not be for everyone. There are pens that are smoother out there but I haven't found anything else to be as reliable as a Space Pen and it writes on all types of surfaces. The only reason I have had to buy a new Space Pen is when I have lost one as they are nice and solid and perfect for an everyday pen.
