Scooter is worth the money if (quality and design) is the same as a couple years ago.
We have four children current ages from 5 to 15 but at the time of purchase from amazon at age 3 our youngest wanted a way to keep up with his siblings and walks with the dog. He is very active and had a bike with training wheels and tried to keep up. His sisters had bikes and razor scooters to use for walks around the neighborhood. He had to deal with the frustration of not keeping up and getting slowed down or taking a spill when he tried to make a sharper turn than the bike with training wheels would allow for. We purchased the micro for him based on reviews and were totally astounded by how he instinctually picked it up and was surfing the roads with such ease, speed and confidence. My older kids wanted to try it but only his sister two years older (who already had a razor) fit the age/weight criteria. She instantly liked it but due to her using it and leaving it right behind the wheel of our car when she was done playing, the handle bar was bent beyond use. I wish I knew at the time that we could have ordered that part as other reviewers had mentioned and will look into now because otherwise it is still a great outdoor recreational toy that is probably worth passing on to friends or family. I am shopping for a 6 and 8 yr old birthday gift and am wondering if this product is still unique in the ease of use, different from other age appropriate similar outdoor play equipment available in the US? The price point on this still seems so high and I have read that it was developed in Sweden and manufactured now in China. I don't have an issue with this as long as the quality is still the same and I am not even sure where the younger version that I purchased before that came from. I am still in the process of trying to decide based on limited reviews if the t bar or the stick shift type would be the best pick and is this product still worth the money as I had decided a couple years ago with their mini version. conclusion: High quality and unique scooter that I purchased through Amazon "the younger version" and still feel it was well worth the price but wondering if it is still worth the expense for the next level/age appropriate version?

The Best Scooter for Preshoolers!!
This is THE BEST scooter for preschoolers! We have had ours for three years now (three summers) and my daughter has had a blast riding it. We got it when she was three and she is almost six and still rides it. It is really stable and smooth. She goes everywhere on it! It is time for a new one because she really has outgrown hers and we are replacing it with the same brand. They ride differently than some so if you've had a different kind, it could take a little getting used to. But, better yet, get this to begin with. Your child can use it for a couple of years, and then you can sell it for half price. I cannot tell you enough about the quality. It is very lightweight so the kids can carry it, but it's really tough for lots of use. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! Kickboard USA also has amazing customer service! I ran over this scooter with the van and broke it into million pieces. Someone thought it was a good idea to park it behind the tire. :) When checked the website to find out about ordering parts to fix it I wasn't sure what I needed. When I spoke to the company I was told to send a picture of what it looked like and they would help me. They did, I received the parts right away. It was $30 for all I needed. Way less than expected for how messed up the scooter was! We tried to fix it, but had trouble even with the videos, so I called again. It turned out another piece was needed. They said send it to us and we'll fix it and return it. We did, they did, and the scooter is practically brand new! Not even a shipping charge!! Granted that all took a month, but it was so worth it and they were so helpful! Love this company and their products!

Best Scooter for Small Children
Was looking for 2yo's "first" scooter and the mini kick came highly recommended by another parent. Previously, I had researched a bunch of different types of mobile products - tricycles, other scooter brands, push cars, etc, and this seemed like the best bet. Arrived last week and it's an excellent product and our son loves it. Extremely well made (considering that most toys right now are basically crap), seemingly very durable, wheels and brake are replaceable ensuring a long life span through multiple children, safe with a very low center of gravity (the base of the scooter is so low to the ground that it's easy for a young child to balance and hard for them to really "fall" over - our son's first scooter and he has yet to fall), much smaller and compact than a big plastic car or tricycle, and a great way to develop coordination (innovative steering system turns the wheels by leaning - so good for teaching balance). I guess I'm so used to buying and ending up with cheap garbage toys at this stage that it's refreshing to find a product that's actually decent quality and seems well made. I would say pay up for this and you will get your money's worth. Only other thing is that you need a helmet as well - we got the Bell Fraction youth helmet which seems to work fine.

Best scooter on the market for little ones
I bought my first micro scooter four years ago for my daughter, then two years old. She was never really into it, but my son, born three years later, started using it when he was just over two. He loved it. It is by far the best scooter on the market. The steering system with the front two wheels is safe and easy to master (and it works!). The scooter is low to the ground, making it really stable. I thought I was going to be able to pass that one on to my second son, but this was not going to happen. My son, now three and a half, still loves riding it and is so comfortable on it. I had to buy another one for my little one, who just turned two last week. He's already really good on it, and everyone looks at this little guy, flying on his scooter with his helmet. I've seen kids with other scooters, but they never seem in control of their device. This one is a bit expensive, but it's really worth it. Good for kids between two and four, after, they probably graduate to the bigger version.

I'm a believer
To be perfectly honest, when I pulled this scooter out of the box, I was underwhelmed. I was expecting something more substantial, something less plastic. I mean, it won all these awards and has all these five-star reviews...it has to be built to military specs, right? There was a lot of flex in the deck, and the steering system looked as if it would fall apart in the first five minutes. But guess what: I was wrong. This scooter is awesome. My 3-year old loves it. He jumped on that thing and within a couple of days he was bombing around the culdesac with the bigger boys on their Razors. They also love it. (One of them hit a few small jumps with it, and although the asphalt scraped up the bottom of the scooter, it held up like a champ. Maybe it's so resilient because it's so flexible.) It's much more stable (and fun) than the neighbor's one-wheel-in-front/two-in-back tri-scooter that he'd been riding (and falling off of). The scooter comes in two pieces; the only assembly required is to snap the steering stem into the socket on the deck. It's very solid. The brake, however, is made of a flexible piece of plastic over a thin strip of metal that looks like it won't last more than a couple of weeks. We'll see. (It's been six months. No problems.) So, yeah. I'm very happy. But more importantly, my son is happy. Can't put a price on that! I couldn't get him to stand still or say anything about the scooter for my review, but here's some footage of him riding. (No children or cameras were harmed during the making of this video.)

Mini kick scooter is the ultimate!!!
We bought this scooter in 2011 for our 3 yr old who has turned 5. My 2 year old now rides it. It looks and rides like new, despite both kids' constant use! It is the smoothest, most user friendly ride! It gives kids the confidence to ride and feel like a pro! We have bought the maxi scooter for the five year old and it rides with the same ease! It is even sturdy enough for mom and dad to ride with the adjustable handlebars for height. We have seen other kids's scooters and watched them ride with such frustration due to the fact the scooter is so clunky, heavy and does not have the maneuverability that this scooter has! People always turn heads in amazement at our kids while they are on their scooters. I think it's because they look too little to be riding with such ease and coolness. Seriously, they look like pros and they are not! No balance required. So any child of any ability can ride these scooters and look and feel like pros!!!

Awesome scooter
My 4 1/2 year old son got this for Christmas. It took him a few minutes to figure out the balancing but now he is off and bravely riding through potholes. Not sure it was meant for off roading... It seems very flexible, which is good for manoeverability but may not be good for longevity. I will try to remember to re-rate it in a few months so that I can comment on that. Otherwise, great scooter for his age group and I can see him enjoying it for a few years yet. Addition to above: We have now had the scooter in daily use since last Christmas. It is totally awesome. My son prefers it to his bike (he is almost 5 now). We bought a kick junior scooter for my 2.5 yr old and she prefers this one over hers. This is actually more stable as it has 2 wheels at the front where they tend to lean their weight. Awesome scooter. Holds up to mud puddle and gravel usage well...

Great scooter for my 3 year old
Bought this for my son who recently turned 3. I have a friend whose two year old was using it (he has two older brothers he has been watching) and I wanted to get my little guy one as well. He loves it. He was easily able to figure out how to push and propel himself. He hasn't figured out the braking yet but he just puts his feet down to stop. He loves it and it is easy to balance on because of the three wheels. I think this is a great starter scooter. He is 30 pounds and so this should last a while (up to 50 pounds). Highly recommend. Very happy with the quality and easy one step assembly. Would purchase again. bought one for my two year old daughter as well. She hasn't really figured it out but stands and balances on it and lets me push her around. Seems durable and that it will last. I got a pink and blue. Only downside is I wish I had gotten two green so there is no arguing over whose is whose.

Great birthday present
I got this for my 2 year old son. It was a instance hit what a great invention. Not only dose he love it, I my self find it very useful. When we go to the park instead of taking a big lumpy pushchair or carrying my kid i just take this scooter and he stands and i push him along. At first i had the seat attached for him to get use to the scooter and within weeks the seat was taken of. My son is very confident with this product. So 3 months later i got his cousin the same product when he became 2. He is taking a bit more time to get use to it but all kids are different. I see lots of kids at the park with all different scooters. it has to be a must have item to me. The build quality is good. seams a bit plastic but that keeps the weight down. The Scooter will get bashed around and scratched, but to my surprise it is still in one piece. Even taken a few trips down the stairs by its self.
