Drop Leaf Support 8 Inch Pair

Worked great for drop leaf table repair.

Very poorly packaged. The product comes in a zip lock plastic bag with the hardware tossed in loose, The brackets require 4 screws apiece for a total of 8 screws. I only received 6. I don't have time to try and contact the seller for two screws and then wait for delivery. I had to purchase 8 new screws because I couldn't find an exact match. I haven't even begun to install my pieces and I already had to make a special trip to buy parts I paid for. No idea how well these will work yet, but they look very nice and seem well made and sturdy. I will update this rating if the product works as well as it looks, but for now only one star. When I order something that comes with hardware I expect ALL the hardware, not just some of it. I am not happy. Updated review: Well made product, positive spring loaded lock, easy finger loop pull to unlock. Very strong and sturdy. Antique finish is very good looking. Easy to install. Other than the missing screws, I am completely satisfied with the product. I re evaluated the review to 5 stars.

I bought these for a folding gateleg-type table that I made. I thought I could use them for extra support under the hinge, but I never could get them to work properly, mostly because when folded down the leaf would not lie flat. I abandoned that idea, but they probably were not suitable for the table anyway (the apron was only an inch wide, and I think you need at least 1 1/2"). I also have a small drop leaf table made by Hickory Chair, and even though it's a quality piece of furniture, the drop leaf supports were pieces of wood that swung out and pushed against a shim on the underside of the leaf. For the last 10 years, I never felt comfortable using them because it just didn't seem secure. I took the wood supports off and used these instead, and it was a great solution. The aged coppery/bronze finish even matches the hinges on the table. The big downside to these supports is the instruction sheet. It doesn't give nearly enough information, and it looks like something they photocopied over and over. That's really bad because figuring out how to install these the right way requires quadratic equations, and the last thing you want to do with furniture is combine trial and error with a drill. There are instructions on the Woodcraft website--just find the product and click on the "instructions" tab. Even with that, I still ended up drilling extra holes. The chart gives a minimum distance of 1 1/2" from the apron to the hinge pin, but my table only had 1 1/4. I tried moving the support up a 1/4 inch, but it didn't work. So I used the distance on the chart and then did the connection under the leaf. Ultimately, it looks and works great on a small leaves like the ones on my table, which measure about 8 1/2 inches at their widest point.

Very satisfied. Received exactly what we needed to put up the shelf. It included clear instructions and hardware for installation. And, added plus, it arrived earlier than expected! 5 stars!

Used these to fix the dining room table my husband grew up eating at. He's happy to keep his grandmother's table in usable condition. So I'm thrilled to have found them at such a reasonable price. They installed easy and with 2 per drop leaf, they support everything perfectly.

Just what I needed to repair my art deco drop-leaf table. Simple attach to the table and work well.

I found this old table in the alley and painted it. But every time you put your elbows on the table you’d end up with a plate in your lap. I decided to buy two pairs and put them on either side of the leaf supports already under the table. It was over kill but well worth the investment on a free table. It did the trick! You can safely put your elbows on the table now... but we try not to since we have good manners.

Ensure you have the correct measurements before ordering. It works for my 1940's Duncan Phyfe table.
