Numark Scratch 2-Channel DJ Scratch Mixer

Excellent item. I originally had Scratch Live SL1 which I've had for several years. I decided to buy one of these to cut down on cables and space etc. I did a bit of research into these and being budget conscious i found this to be the cheapest. That said it is definitely not a budget mixer. When setup and you've downloaded Serato Pro DJ software as per the instructions it automatically unlocks so no payment for PRO software is required which is a good saving on its own. The faders are great. The effects work well and the 8 assignable pads are very responsive. My only gripe is that everything on it is lit up in red. Would have been nice to have colour coded pads.Other than the led colour issue this 8s a great mixer and it is packed with features. For the money & having Serato Pro bundled with it is hard to beat.

I was looking for a new mixed to use with some kind of timecode set up. I had an old, mashed together set up of Virtual DJ, external sound card, and a tangle of wires. Was going to just replace my mixer with a Numark M2 and then I saw the Scratch. Yes, a massive price difference I know, but this came with a Serato license for one thing, and is an excellent mixer with some cool features and buttons for a home dj wanting to get more into the digital game and have a play. Paired it with some new Concorde Scratch mk2 needles and was blown away with the sound quality, ease of set up and the performance of the mixer. An innofade croasfader makes even my basic scratching sound tight.Awesome bank of buttons to play around with cue points, samples and loops. Have connected up an old novation launchpad with Serato as well.Really pleased with this mixer. It's so much fun!

As a stand-alone mixer this is a fairly basic 2 channel mixer, complete with a great quality cross fader and a dedicated filter (albeit quite harsh) on each channel. When plugged into serato however it comes into its own. The layout of the mixer really lends itself to an intuitive experience and interface with the software. Performance pads feel good and respond well, FX are straightforward and get the job done and for the money, you really can’t ask for much more. With DJ hear becoming more and more expensive these days this really is a treat.

So, I wanted to get my SL1200's out of the attic after 10 years. I researched the best mixers for DVS/Timecode and all of the top mixers are kicking on for £1k a pop. After checking the Numark scratch I bought it for £379 along with Serato 12" timecode vinyls (£28).Conclusion: Awesome mixer, I wouldn't have used all of the other crap on the Rane 72, Pioneer S9 etc. anywayz.This mixer is solid, feels like it will last 10 years, mixes my vinyl, as well as streaming subscriptions. 5 star for the price tbh. Yes, you can spend over a grand, but if you are like me and want to get the old vinyl blair out with the complete timecode/dvs digital upgrade, this is the mixer!!!!

Hmmmm...i'm gonna cut out all the gushy stuff and just get to the main points folk would want to know.*The crossfader is good, very slippery*The channel sliders are just as light as the crossfader and as a result i have tapped them by accident on numerous occasions.*The balance you need to strike between the separate channel levels and master out level needs science degree. This may be a different story if you have loud stylii like ortofon conk digital carts but not sure.*The mic input might aswell not work as it's painfully low.I cannot recommend this mixer as the upfaders are TOO slippery and therefore too fiddley. If you are playing regular vinyl; you’ll need extra preamps for each channel as the phono preamps are trash. It should be quite hard wearing over time. Channel levels along with master levels need getting used to. Don’t take my word for it though, go and spend ur hard earned cash on this

Been using for 9 months now and the mixer is decent but my crossfader has just stopped working. From reading around I can see that this is a common problem with the Inno Fader that ships with this mixer, many people swear by upgrading the fader to Mini Inno Fader pro (around £50-£60). Some people resolve their fader issues by re-calibrating (there are plenty of guides and it's not difficult) but that did not work for me. When the fader was working The FX controls that come with the mixer are good, they sound professional. Using the mixer with Phase Wireless Controllers and it works well but once you get a feel of what you can do scratch wise with setting markers etc then I do get a bit jealous looking at Rane/Pioneer mixers which have more assignable pads. if only wanted to use digital it then the sound levels/quality are good but I also wanted to mix digital with vinyl and had to purchase a phone pre amp (£20) to give the phono signal a boost (otherwise sound was too quiet even with gains to the max), this was a Technics 1210 Mk2

Best mixer for the money its seamless working with serato!! I love this mixer as it has the innofader and so many features. I use the effects and stems and samples and cue points. It also has great filters.I can not fault this mixer its the best mixer for the money by far. 10 out of 10. Well done Numark.

Loved this mixer for two years. Unfortunately the upfaders are not at all easily accessible to clean or replace. Mine started glitching and as I couldn't get to it properly I used some air and suitable contact cleaner to try to clear the glitch. Well, that was it for my mixer. Now one pad, and one effect button are also glitching. My fault for not sending it to a pro?, perhaps yes. Still, £400 is £400 and low end or otherwise, I expect to be able to access to repair/replace parts that commonly mechanically fail. Really great little mixer for the price and but that's a *major* flaw for me. 2 years is not good enough

Great quality and value. It lacks some features I use on my more expensive gear, but in this price range there is nothing better out there.
