I am naturally terrified of dogs due to childhood incidents . I bought this because my neighborhood is always filled with stray dogs whom im unfamiliar with . After a dog attack close by a few weeks ago I purchased this as a safety precaution and it literally is the confidence I needed in the event of an emergency

Never had to use it, thankfully. I had originally thought that it expired in 2021 but it looks like the ink wore off the left hand side of the last digit, which was, upon closer inspection, a six 😂

Worked pretty well on a raging pitbull, however it took about 5 seconds to have an effect.

UPDATE: Amazon quickly replaced both of these. I tested the new one and they too slide out quite easily so hopefully the super glue works to hold them in the plastic casing.I chose this product specifically so that I could use a small carabiner to attach it the dog leash.Yesterday while on a hike, I noticed that the spray had fallen out of the plastic tube/case and was missing.When I got home I went to get the second one I'd purchased and discovered the exact sme thing had happened on my spare leash! I've only had the spray a few weeks, so therefore surmise that the canister was not glued into the plastic casing.I am asking AMazon to send replacements and will super glue them myself immediately. I will update this review at a later date.

Are you tired of going for a walk with your dog? Only to be set upon by some other a******* Dog, that's awfully that happened to me a lot. And I felt kind of crazy carrying a large stick around. So I started packing this thing and man. It's good. I've had to buy 3 of them now because where I live. Nobody believes in putting their dogs on leashes. And my dog is not the friendliest dog in the world to Strangers A quick blast of this to towards any dog is more than enough to send them running away. The mist is potent enough that they can smell it even if they don't take a direct hit. And they lose interest quickly for more determined dogs. A quick shot to the face is enough to aggravate their nose. And we'll again encourage them to disengage. Fortunately, pepper spray has no long-term side effects, the pain is temporary, and seems to make the point. So finish your walks in peace without being disturbed by aggressive strange animals.

This product works I've had to use it a few times but be careful because a slight wind will make this sucker spray yourself as well. It's not bad but the air around me got a little spicy. Definitely recommended as it saved me from getting bit or chased.

It only took one incident while walking with my wife, newborn, and dog, to know I would never take a walk again without this protection. While out on a walk, a large dog off a leash sprinted towards me and my family. I have a small 15 lb dog and a baby in a stroller. The dog was aggressive with my dog, and while I was able to temporarily restrain it through holding its collar, it eventually slipped the collar off and continued to be aggressive with my family until it's owners arrived in a car a few minutes later.I'm thankful no one was bit or injured, and I can't even imagine if it had been a Pitbull or Rottweiler. With that incident in mind, the only responsible thing to do is learn from it and make sure I always have protection if another stray dog comes charging at my family. I never walk without it.

I was walking in my neighborhood when I heard people yelling. When I turn around, I saw a couple with 2 white pits that were unleashed and I had a strange feeling so I grabbed my protector hanging from my neck. Suddenly, a big white pit came running over the hill, full force. As my life flashed before me and I wondered if this spray would really save me, I immediately began to spray when he was in range. With my feet planted on the ground and eyes concentrating solely on this dog I had absolutely no fear as I watched his every move in trying to bark and attack me. I emptied my entire tube of spray on this pit and he was still trying to attack me with strong energy so I continued to strike back with my umbrella. After about 5 minutes of this and the owner calling his name but never coming to get the dog or ask if I was ok, he finally swayed and ran away. After he got back to his owner, he picked him up and I left. I give this product 3 stars because it did eventually make the dog run away after a while. He did not bite me, but it took longer that I expected to deter the dog. If I didn't have my umbrella, I would have been fried chicken. If you use this product you will definitely need a defense weapon to carry with it. Otherwise, it will be too late by the time this spray actually kicks in to deter the dog. I have researched and purchased a much stronger defense. To all who have purchased this product and haven't had the chance to use it, consider this your warning. Good Luck!!!
