Reliable, discrete installation
Quality, reliable dashcam that;s got good online support and provides solid, reliable recordings. This is my second A119, the first one I purchased in 2017 was a version2 A119 and used for 8 years without issue., I did buy the optional polarising lens which helps improve removing glare from the windscreen and bright sunlight etc. When I got a new car, I decided to get a new dashcam so got the version 3 A119 and so far so good, GPS locks in quickly, recordings are good and using the polarizing lens (optional) gives a decent antiglare result. Discrete to install and just connects to the cigarette socket, fit and forget.

Top notch, quality dash cam
This is the third Viofo dash cam I’ve purchased over the years as I’ve now installed them into my sons cars as well as my Motorhome and they’re great, never had an issue with reliability, they’re a nice compact size, easy to install and adjust for camera angle and give a good clear image, the Viofo App is ok but I normally just pop out the memory card and review videos on my laptop. I have noticed over the years of purchasing Viofo dash cams that the price has gradually increased so there are now cheaper options out there with similar capabilities, but quality and reliability have always been top notch.

Excellent Dash Cam!
Granted this dashcam isn’t the cheapest but it is also not the most expensive, for the money (I paid £80 in a sale) it is alot of bang for your buck. The video quality is surprisingly good, very much an upgrade from my previous dashcam which was a generic Chinese brand with a happy sounding name. Video in the day time is sharp, clear and can pick up reg plates with ease. In the evening/night it can struggle with reg plates if there is a massive speed difference but that is understandable. I’m yet to order the hard wiring kit and the polarising filter however installation was a breeze and the size/shape of the camera allow you to slot it behind your rear view mirror and it’s basically invisible while driving. Functionality wise it’s easy to use, press menu to take a photo, press the big warning triangle to record a clip. Simple as that! Would recommend grabbing the polariser as glare can be an issue around sunrise/sunset but I do a lot of driving during unsociable hours so that’s up to you ultimately. Overall for the price it’s a solid choice and you won’t go wrong. Viofo are a recognised brand and the police/insurance companies both recognise it’s a good camera. So much so my insurance premium came down by a tenner once installed. Would absolutely recommend this dashcam!

The best dashcam I've had + 1 year edit
This is my fourth dashcam since 2012. The first, an expensive one failed a month out of warranty and would have cost a lot to fix. I've tried two cheaper ones, one of which recently failed, and the other is OK but has no GPS. So, I've had this camera for 6 months now and it's still working fine. It's wired in through the standard 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket), so I don't get any protection once the engine is off. Picture is very good, day and night though it doesn't have any night vision facility. You're not going to be able to grab the registration plate of every vehicle that passes in the opposite direction (ALWAYS read out loud the number of any vehicle you need to report), but it'll pick up those in front of you. I'm using a 128 Gb card, so I get a week's worth on it. The only issue I've had is with the camera unit rattling on the GPS module. I've just used a piece of blu-tak as a cushion. It's not audible to me, but there is a rattle still on the recordings. A bigger bit of blu-tak is needed. Other than that, I'll probably replace the one at the rear of the car, plus those in the other car with one of these or something from the same manufacturer when the time comes. For the money, I recommend this. Edit: I've had this for almost a year now and am still pleased with the quality but I have found that the settings of the camera are constantly being lost - e.g. speed units - it often reverts to km/h; and time zone - often returning to GMT, not GMT +1 as set. Other than this, so far, so good. I was involved in an incident with another vehicle being driven dangerously and the number of the other car was readable even though it was travelling at high speed in the opposite direction. Good enough for a prosecution - and it was before the aforementioned problems, so no explaining to do.

Great video footage
Had dash cams for many years and have been through many in that time too. I'd been using the autovox d6 pro for some time and never had an issue. But i wanted to get a 2k camera and try it out. Gave this one a try after much research into the different viofo models. Viofo also brought an update out so it can record 1440p @60fps which is great and the setting i've been using. Had it a few days now and can say the footage is really good (on my computer that is only 1080p) for such a good price and the best i've seen so far. Size isn't to bad to be honest and it sticks to the windscreen. I've never liked the suction cup mounts. Comes with a gps mount that works well. No wifi unlike my last one, but i tend to take the card out and plug it straight into my phone is i need any footage anyway. It uses a mini usb cable, so i had rewire the cable from micro to mini in my car. You can by the adaptors but i don't like them much. adds a bit of bulk to where i need the wiring. I have mine plugged into a magic pro so the dash cam stays on full recording after the car switched off or i use the override switch. I have a rear dash cam but always use single channel like this one and just purchase a seperate for the rear. Good thing about that is they work independently so no sharing processor etc. Also if the front break down i can just swap the rear to the front and keep going. CPL filter! The picture is definitely clearer and crisp with one on during the day and reduces the dash glare you get on the windscreen. Definitely a must. Night time the picture was terrible with the CPL filter on. I've got a heated windscreen so i'm assuming the fine heater wires, combined with night time and whatever the CPL filter does caused the images to be quite fuzzy. Taking the filter off at night restored good video footage.

Good clear image
Fairly easy to install - most problem was down to the tight fitting trim in the car, but managed to hide the wire across the top of the windscreen in a Skoda Superb and down the side, under the passenger footwell and then into the USB socket in front of the gear lever. Have since moved the camera into a newer model Superb and the usb lead is about 30cm too short now as the USB-A socket is now in the armrest between the seats & I didn't want to use the USB-C as that is handy for the phone. Tried it out with blue tack to fasten to the windscreen and checking position/aim (before committing to the sticky pad!) which actually worked well for a good year before I remembered (when the blue tack gave up...) and then replaced with sticky pad. Image is very good in daylight and acceptable at night. This was one of the few HD cameras that I tried where you can actually read the number plates from the image. Night time is good (better than others) but number plates can be hard to read with the glare from headlights - just about possible with cars that you are following. GPS feature is good and microphone is fairly good to capture in car sound (& comments....) Set up was fairly straightforward, but lots of options that need to be addressed, thankfully these are remembered consistently between journeys. Slightly annoying is the "option" of the polarising filter, if it needs it (which I think it does!) then supply it with the package. Otherwise very good camera that has performed well for about 4 years now.

One of the best sub £100 dash cams you can buy
I picked the A119V3 up for £89 which is exceptional value for money. There are a couple of excellent, very detailed reviews already posted (e.g. by “Mr Particular” and “H”) so I don’t really have that much more to add. I’ll just confirm that the picture quality is superb. The size and shape of the dash cam is far better than other makes that use a suction mount. The VIOFO unit mounts flush to the windscreen so it’s very neat and can be completely hidden behind the rearview mirror. One thing I would reiterate, it’s important to use a good quality, high endurance (U3) memory card. I used an old Samsung V10 64GB card I already had and it struggled a bit when it started to overwrite the older files. If I had to be picky, just a couple of small criticisms - i) The power cable is quite thick (compared to my previous dash cam) so it was a little trickier to push behind the car’s trim (still managed though). ii) The mini USB plug that fits into the unit is straight, a right-angled one might have been better. iii) The “Emergency Save” button is positioned right next to the “Stop Record” button so instead of saving a recording you can easily turn recording off. All in all I would agree with others, this is one of the best sub £100 dash cams you can buy. A small tip. The first time I mounted it I didn’t get it quite straight (the glue on the mount is very unforgiving). My OCD wouldn’t let it go so I peeled it off and remounted using the spare 3M pad they provide. This time a made a template on an A4 sheet of paper (using Powerpoint) which I taped to the outside of the window. Using this as the guide, I got it positioned perfectly.

Nice and straightforward dash cam
Have only just got this so early days but thanks the review Mr Particular left which was very informative and had very useful insights on setting this up I was able to get the A119 V3 set up before installing it into the car. Now I have had a number of dash cams some from reputable brands and others not so. One thing I have learnt on my journey is that having a WiFi enabled dash cam with an app is a very frustrating affair, sometimes they work other times they refuse point blank to play ball so this A119 V3 is a no brainer connect and forget unless video needed, simples. Image quality is very good and should be having a Sony Starvis sensor. I haven’t hard wired mine yet as I haven’t had time to investigate the best options and don’t want to mess up my overly complicated vehicle’s wiring. Overall a really nice dash cam that is quite simple to use.
