Tone Quest Complete
Tone is most assuredly a personal thing. In my case, these were the perfect solution to replace the Texas Specials in my 2004 CIJ 62 Tele Custom. They have succeeded in making it my favorite guitar. No small feat given the number of choices I have. Tone Quest complete.

My favorite Fender Tele pickups in at least a decade
I've had tons of pickups, nearly all major brands and custom made, custom winds all that.I put together a new Tele thinline and I wasn't liking any of what I had, mini humbuckers, SD 1/4lb, Hot for tele, Alnico II, Onamac Windery, Vintage Vibe, Lollars... Literally nothing was what I was looking for and on a just a chance I ordered the Fender 64s. Was skeptical as I didn't like the Texas Specials or the recent reissues but watched a video and thought I'd try.Absolutely what the doctor ordered. Clarity, sparkle and crunch. For understanding: I hardly ever play completely clean but if you are someone who plays with a lot of distortion you would call my sound clean. I'm on the edge of breakup sound. Where I can dig in and play with pick dynamics. A Fender Princeton on 4 or 5 - breaking up, not clean but clean when you soften your attack. I play mostly in the middle position, lots of chords and chord based soloing. I hit the bridge when I want to cut through and use the neck position as well. My pedals are custom made Bearfoot FX based on the Model G.The guitar they are in - ash body thinline, allparts neck, rw fingerboard, 250K pots. These pickups really surprised me and I'm so glad I took the chance.

Great Fender pickups
Bought these to replace the stock pickups in my Squier 40th Anniversary Telecaster. A massive improvement in tone and that awesome mid 60's Tele sound!

Great pickups!
Replaced the stock pickups in a 2006 Fender Telecaster Standard, MiM. They sound great, no complaints, no issues with the installation. I recommend these for any Telecaster, unless you want absolute top-tier, and are willing to pay twice the price.

These are great
These are very musical and classic sounding tele pickups. I put them in an early 2000s MIM tele with stock pickups and the difference was quite substantial. They are vintage voiced so not super hot, but they have a really pleasant chime and clarity to them that just sounds great. I added a 4 way switch as well so I had to modify the neck pickup by clipping a connection and adding a 3rd wire, but this is a pretty common modification and doesn't affect the sound or performance of the pickup. If you're trying to get high gain or modern voicings from your guitar this set isn't for you but if you want to make an "ok" sounding tele a "great" sounding tele then you've come to the right place.

Great Pickups
I was very happy with the product. These pickups sound great. They were shipped and packed carefully, mounted on a small piece of plywood in the shape of a pickguard. Easy to read instructions were included. I would recommend these pickups to anyone looking for that vintage sound.

Damaged
Pickups came damaged. Did not work at all when wired up. Too late for a refund now, so I guess I’m screwed. Do not buy this product

Fender's Best Kept Secret
The Fender Pure Vintage '64 Telecaster Pickup Set is a phenomenal set of pickups. I put them in a Tele that I built and they make it sound exactly how a good Tele should. They are powerful enough to sound really good with distortion, but they really shine when played clean to slightly breaking up. They are not so hot and overwound that they lose high end and sound muddy, but they are powerful enough to push your amp if you want. Would definitely buy again, in fact I might buy another set to replace some Tex-Mex pickups, which I really don't like so much anymore after playing these.
