Best EQ around ! Just buy it!
There is no down side to this unit. It is Better! ....better than the original clarion design. This units volume and fader are extremely linear and the sub output feels perfect as far as increasing to volume unity. Input gains are adjustable and subsonic filter is adjustable both on top of unit. Front panel has center frequency adjustable pot's above each attentuator accessible with included Mini driver ... So it's basically a parametric in function with out Q adjustable . It is super clean , I looked at each frequency with an oscilloscope and only noticed a a bit of "mud" or "hash " bleeding into the lowest parametric band from the sub output if it's frequency is dialed above about 75 Hz ( no need to really do that anyway). Otherwise it is a very very accurate unit. And loud!!!! I cannot stress enuff how linear the volume is and how accurate and clear this unit is. Give yourself complete control over your sound , buy this unit NOW, It is easily the most beneficial and well spent 70 bucks you can use on your audio system . One tip I'll give you is be super careful when hooking up power, ground, remote. The plastic buss is not the strongest but easily tightened properly if you take care . I tell you this because I noticed another review before I purchased about breakage and I will confirm it could be more sturdy , but I would say the user is more at fault if careless. I'm a huge fan of this unit and will reccomend to anyone

Putting blinding lights aside, excellent build quality and adjustability for clean highs
******Update after owning for 4.5 years. It appears that it is starting to fail.1) I had to move the source from the DVD input to the AUX input because the right side channel no longer works.2) The display constantly switches from voltage to the frequency adjustment for no reason.I believe that this unit is susceptible to oxidation in a high humidity environment here in Florida. I downgraded to 4 stars. Now, would I buy this again? Yes. It lasted me this long. I only wish they would make a revised unit to fix the issues like lights being too bright and maybe they can drill small holes in the knobs so the light comes through them so I can see the position at night. (another reviewer here did this on his own and it looks sweet)*******I didn't have the heart to give this 4 stars for the simple fact that the lights are just too bright for night time driving. I actually have to cover the voltmeter/adjustment display during the night. The way my center console is designed, it faces the driver side rather than being completely flat so it just makes the light blindingly worse.Other than that, it sounds amazing. I really do appreciate the 18Khz range since my speakers and amp are rated up to 30khz (even though the human ear is not really meant to hear anything over 20k). The highs are so nice and clean, and being able to dial in the frequencies for my 5x8 speakers is important too. Can't comment much on subwoofer output because I haven't installed one yet.

Great price for a good EQ
Liked the craftsmanship and sound quality. Disliked no clipping indicators and the voltage display is cheesy

Easy modifications
Like the reviews say, it is too bright. Especially the display. I put 3 layers of scrap 25% window tint over the display which made it ideal. Electrical tape works too. The other modification was fiber optics in the knobs. I picked up some .75mm fiber on Amazon for $8, drilled holes in knobs, cut short pieces of fiber, mushroomed the ends with a lighter and now have illuminated position markers. Audio function is fantastic allowing you to easily tweak the sound to compensate for variations in recordings.

Meh...
Edited from when I first got it. The display constantly goes on and off, this is my second one doing the exact same thing. In addition to that the noise this thing puts out is unreal. Just a hum that is very loud, I have grounded it to multiple places with the same problem. Bypass it, no hum at all. I love the ability to configure it a billion ways but it's just not very good otherwise.

Nice audio, poor manufacturing quality
On one hand, the audio DOES sound nice being processed by this device. On the other the power connector is significantly flawed. It is held in place by a tiny amount of plastic that is extremely easy to break. If this little plastic clip breaks the connector will not stay in place. Furthermore, the connector failed to hold onto the wires properly causing the wire to come loose behind my dash and ultimately causing a short that blew a fuse.I had to use an extremely ugly duct tape hack just to get it to stay in place. It will work this way until the tape fails to stick and the connector will pop out again.

Wrong item
Needed a graphic equaliser for stereo, not car!

Bang for the buck EQ
A bang for the buck, with nice digital screen and able to deal with relative high inputs (till 7v.). Probably not a very precise equalizer, somehow looks like the frequency change (done with a small screw driver) does not affect the EQ curve. The knobs also appear to act more at the little end. The fact of not to be able to EQ the sub is bad, cause bass is often where car audio problems are located. A three band real parametric EQ with options to change the Q would be more practical to eliminate problems in the car, but I suppose this kind of EQ would not cost this price. For basic settings, the EQ is very nice (mostly to change the overall curve than acting over specific frequencies). The gains are mono, so kind of tricky to precise balance in a stereo setup, I opted to keep them to max, as it seems not to be distorting in my setup.

Doesn't work on winter weather
I bought this to replace my broken PPI PAR245 which served me for more than a decade. This was ok EQ when it worked, but when winter came and drop below freezing point, it emits a loud high pitched noise from speakers. I had to unplug my sound system until winter is over.Looks like a design flaw or low cost components that doesn't tolerate low temperature.
