USB webcams haven't really kept up with technology over the last 10 years, as evidenced by Logitech's most popular model that is now 8 years old. None of them will deliver broadcast quality with a wide dynamic range, yet it has to be said there are some horrendous quality cameras on sale right now. If you want to run a Youtube streaming channel with a million followers you will no doubt spend thousands on a DSLR and professional lighting.Luckily the Vitade is a good choice for those of us who just want to use Skype or FaceTime etc. The image is generally sharp with accurate autofocus and no obvious image distortion either. When I first used it with Skype I found the image looked over sharpened with some artefacts and I was a little disappointed, however switching to Apple FaceTime was much better. In other words, it wasn't the cameras at fault, rather Skype itself.I have read some adverse comments on the light, which I feel are a little unfair. I used to be a professional photographer working regularly with studio ring lights and if you want something that will illuminate a big area you'll need something much bigger with a whole lot more power. This is simply a fill light that will help to balance out the shadows and reduce the bags under your eyes. If you are sitting in front of your computer at the desk it will lighten your skin.Perhaps the part I was most impressed by though was the built in microphone. These are generally woeful on most webcams and I have been using a separate Blue Yeti for a very long time to obtain clean audio. The sound on the Vitade is almost as good in practical terms and a lot less hassle to set up. For web chats it's more than adequate.It would be nice if it included a privacy shutter and some software like the Logitech has for image adjustment, but if you have become frustrated like me looking for a webcam that works reasonably well without needing a second mortgage I think the Vitade is really quite good and I am happy to stick with this one.

I was looking for a webcam as like many others I am working from home. All Logitech webcams are sold out and I found a couple of really helpful reviews on youtube advising that this webcam is actually of a comparable if not better quality. Now I can confirm that it is indeed the case. I use it on my Macbook Pro and I was delighted to see that it was easy to attach and took less than a minute to install/setup. It has three light modes which I find helpful, it is thin and sleek in appearance. The picture quality is really good in my opinion, and can probably only get better with various filters and modes available online. Have a look at the photos and as I said there are some reviews on youtube you can check out. Very good value for the price you pay.HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Overall I'm impressed with this webcam. The design and build quality are both good. It is a good compact size and the grips allow it to sit nicely on the edge of laptops/screens without blocking much of the screen. The ring light only makes a difference in low light conditions but is still a nice feature. There are 3 brightness levels which are controlled by a touch ring (which has good sensitivity). With my windows laptop the webcam was plug and go and worked straight away with zoom, teams etc. I also use this webcam as a second camera for demonstration etc and it can be angled and mounted on a tripod which is great. I wasn't super impressed by the image sharpness from the webcam but it is 1080p and much better than the webcam which is built in to my laptop.

Bought this to replace my old non-HD webcam for conversations with friends and clients. The quality of the image is fine but the image is very wide angle. Even from less than two feet away, it shows my head taking up only about a sixth of the screen. The rest is the entire contents of my office. Maybe some people ate keen for others to witness their home environment or to have conversations between large groups. I don't want clients to see how untidy my office is, my other pastimes etc! If you want a wide field of view, this camera is great. For me, I would much rather narrower field of view, even if lower quality.

I bought it because I need to use it when I have meeting with my colleagues and clients, this helps me to let other people see me in a correct direction given previous I was linked my laptop to the display screen which people can’t see me from screen. It was easier to assemble to screen and you can link it to your laptop when you need to use it. It has lighting there which you can turn it on so people can see you under a nice light. Very useful to have it when working from home.
