Bestway 10' Solar Pool Cover

This was a very cheap, lightweight version of other solar covers I've purchased. Began deteriorating after first month.

This cover is as thin as the cheapest shipping bubble wrap and feels about the same. Just putting it on for the first time it felt like it was going to rip. Also, I bought an Intex one last year that only lasted one season unfortunately and it is at least twice as thick. It is so thin that the pool outlet jet moves it and prevents it from staying in place on the surface without moving.. Please do not waste your money on this one. This must cost maybe $10 if that in materials and is definitely not worth the price. Buy a thicker one that will last at least a couple of seasons.

This solar cover is excellent. I had read some bad reviews so I had my doubts. But we were completely satisfied. I know we will get at least one more season out of it because it still looked new when we took our pool down. For the price, I wasn't expecting it to last several years. If I get 2-3 years out of it, I will be happy!

So this is a you get what you pay for thing. I give it 4 stars because it worked and was cheap. But I will say it is thin and I don’t expect it to last more than 2 years. So if you need a cheap solar cover to a temporary pool that you may replace in a year or two, this is great. If you want something to last, look in a much higher price range.

I had a solar cover that lasted 4 years. I’m hoping this one makes it through the season! It is thin and flimsy so it is hard to put on. One small breeze and it flies back over the side. It takes several minutes to get it on the pool and then it doesn’t lay flat. This is a disappointing buy for sure.

This solar cover heats up with the water! We had been using a black tarp on top of the water but it only warmed about 4” then freezing cold. This cover has warmed up all the water to very relaxing temperature. Love it!

I updated my score to two from three. The moment the pump came on the cover bunched up exposing much of the water. I had no problem with the Intex. Last year, I purchased the Intex solar cover, which lasted a little over a year before ripping, and I will repurchase it next time. This cover is less substantial and feels lighter and thinner. Let’s see how long it lasts in the hot Texas sun.

Completely covers a 15' pool so does keep the majority of debris out. Does warm the water but obviously only if the sun is out. The material is glorified bubble wrap and you need to treat it with care or it could rip, but does do the job and does fold up quite small for storage.
