Recently a terrible incident occurred in Texas where a large Bullmastiff attacked and killed one small child and injured another. My daughter, husband, and their two children live in the general area where the attack took place. When I heard of the attack, I was literally sick and feared for the safety of my grandchildren. Following the attack, my daughter was not comfortable taking her two children for walks around the neighborhood because of a large population of pit bulls and rottweiler dogs in the area. I purchased from Amazon the Sabre Frontiersman Bear Attack Deterrent and had it sent to my daughter. The very day she received the cannister, she and her husband took my small grandchildren for a walk. Several blocks from their home they were confronted by a pack of four dogs that included at least two pit bulls and two other large dogs they did not have time to identify. None of the dogs had collars and all were acting very aggressively. As the barking dogs closed in on my daughter's family, my son-in-law let them have it with two short bursts of the bear attack deterrent. Three dogs were hit by the spray. One dog fell to the ground unable to see and the other three immediately retreated. The dog that collapsed to the ground partially recovered and ran from the area. The police were called and immediately responded to search for the dogs. My son-in-law who is a military doctor was so impressed that he ordered several more canisters of Sabre's Bear Attack Deterrent. My family is safe thanks to the Sabre Frontiersman Bear Attack Deterrent. This stuff works.

I will never carry any other product besides this one. We have been attacked twice and confronted with situations (loose, aggressive dogs) too numerous to count while daily walking our dogs. I used to carry a gel product which works well but the larger canister of this product can be used several times.... A few weeks ago we were confronted by a pit bull ...I got a pic of it as i usually report loose dogs but then he tried to approach us ...I used the spray per the directions spraying in a sweeping motion and this stopped him.... I still have plenty left... As to the quality of the loop (some other people had trouble with it breaking off) i can say that i don't carry it by the loop but only in my belt and would only touch the loop before i actually use it....I am older with arthritic fingers and can verify this product was NO problem to use..... several other mace products we tried were too hard for me to spray.....

Thankfully I haven’t had to use but it’s nice to have in the pack. Bought this so my 10 year old has something extra in his pack while walking up and down trout streams. As long as he doesn’t get upset with me and spray me all will be good.

This product is awesome. I've had it for 9 months now. At the end of the day its for protection and that exactly what it does. I bought two. One for outdoor use and the other I keep by my bedside table for home protection. I use this for Hiking, Walking my dogs and running. It does not matter if it's used on dogs or humans at the end of the day you protected yourself from harm. It is a strong product that shoots far so you don't have to be close to your target (which is great). I have only used this twice. A stray dog that was going to attack me on my run (of course I called the police to report it *dog was taken and treated for burning eyes but I was NOT HARMED) and a bull who went after my dog when I was on a friends ranch. I originally got this product because a woman down the street from my house runs with her two children in a push stroller, she used this against a dog and her and her kids got home safe. I would recommend this product to anyone.

The holstr is nice and it seems like it will be easy to use. Hopefully it never will be! We put out trail cameras to watch moose, deer and elk only to discovered bear and cougar within 100 feet of our mountain home. They have only been captured on camera a few times but it is the first time in over 35 years they have been so close (that we know of!). It seems the past few years with the crazy weather all the animals behavior and territory has changed. Now when we venture out we have this with us just in case. Normally the big game shy away and leave if humans are about, but it's better to be prepared and gun won't help if you surprise a bear or big cat on a path or around the corner of your driveway. We had a can of this which was very old so we did practice and it seemed to work as expected as far as spraying pattern and distance.

It is like comfort food, u buy this product thinking that it's going to protect you... Right? but the plus is that you don't have to use it, nice!!! So many trips that have been on and i have encountered Bears and they want o get out of your way... No matter what! We have all watched the videos and we all want to be in those pristine places and are all dumbfound by the beauty when we get there to the places we have hiked so hard to get to...The Fact remains is i still carry a concealed carry 45ACP for added protection... i don't want kill the natural beauty of the wildlife in this pristine part of the world....... cuz we all know its their world... this is the best first line of defense of kit you will ever carry... it's the most humane thing to do in their domain... If it's to close for comfort this is the best first line of defense... 90% of the time they get out of your way with a short burst of this humane amazing product...
