So Far So Good
The media could not be loaded. *11/19 Update: After having this for a few months I am still satisfied and would recommend it. I am consistently getting 1.5 days of battery life and experienced no major problems or lag issues. Accessories for the regular TicWatch Pro like cases, bands, chargers & screen protectors all fit the 4G LTE model. I do wish the screen could get brighter as it can be difficult to see in direct sunlight. Have gotten a couple of updates so it is nice that the OS is still being worked on. Now that it is cooler weather, the thickness of the watch does make it harder to put on & take off long sleeve items - hopefully future generations will get thinner.I have only had this watch a day but wanted to give a quick hands-on review because I know that there are a lot of curious people who are on the fence and have a lot of questions. I will update this after a while with a more thorough review.I chose this watch mostly because I wanted something that would last me over a day and had a speaker/microphone (which seems to be harder & harder to find). I passed on the Galaxy Watch as I do not have a Samsung phone so would not be able to use all the features (so far it works fine with my Xperia XZ3 & Pixel 3 XL); also passed on the AmazFit Verge because their system only allows you to view notifications, not respond/interact with them.* Battery: The watch came at 100% and I know that Mobvoi recommends draining the TicWatch E to 0% & then back up to 100% 3 times to optimize the battery but not sure if you need to do that with this watch. I am going to try anyways just in case. So far have only gone thru 1 drain, which was pretty fast during the setup/updating process. I have been up for 3 hours & still at 85% so I am sure that this will get me thru the day but will give more complete findings later.I wish that the smartwatch came with a charging block. Even though I have amassed a ton of those over the years, I am worried about using the wrong one since they suggest only going with 5V 1A or you may damage the charger. I followed the recommendations and charged it thru the USB of my computer & it went at ~1% per minute, so ~1.5 hours to charge from 0% to 100%. Hopefully one day wireless charging will be an option.* Performance: The 1GB of RAM seems to work fine as I have not experienced significant lag. Surprised that it did not come with the newer SnapDragon 3100 but so far reviews have stated that it does not offer much improvement over the 2100 so maybe this helps keep the cost down. I included a video to show the speed of the OS.*Display: I like the larger size & the resolution is satisfactory. It gets plenty bright so should be fine outdoors. I have a screen protector on order even thought this comes with Gorilla Glass 3, you can never be too safe.* Size: The smartwatch is pretty thick but that is common, so not necessarily a negative but I have hit it on quite a few things at the gym already so am getting a case to be safe. The watch is relatively light so it does not bother me considering I am not used to wearing a watch. I included some pics to give you an idea of the size on.*Style: Looks fine for what it is. The bands are easily interchangeable so I plan to get a variety of types & colors to switch the look from sporty, luxury, professional etc . It would have been nice if there were color options like the original TicwatchPro.* WatchFaces: It comes with a couple for you to choose from but you can go the Play Store and get a lot more. I quickly learned that I need to switch to one with a digital time as the clock hands can sometimes block info like your steps or battery life.* Making Calls: Initially, I could make calls from the smartwatch but not receive them (when I answered on the smartwatch, it would say “Take Call from Phone” and I would have to use my phone instead). To solve this you to turn this on: Settings > Connectivity > BlueTooth > Play Phone Voice Call on Watch. Also a bit confusing, when you make the call it will ask you whether to make it from the Phone or SmartWatch. I picked smartwatch because I wanted to test the speaker/microphone but I would get an error message from Verizon. So if you choose the smartwatch option, it will try to use the Verizon SIM card which I do not have activated. When I chose the phone option, making the calls thru the smartwatch worked fine.* Price: Mobvoi TicWatches are by far the best deal out there for Wear OS. They pack a lot of features for less than competitors. I do not use Verizon so have no intentions of activating the SIM but the price bump is worth it to me for the improvements (lighter, Gorilla Glass, double the RAM, military grade and the improved waterproofing).* Wear OS: I mostly wanted a smartwatch to be an extension of my phone so I am perfectly fine with what this OS has to offer. It is easy to figure out and unlike others, you get all your notifications and can interact with them.*Customer Service: Mobvoi has great customer service. I had a previous minor issue and a representative reached out to me directly and came up with a resolution that was more than fair. It does seem like they are in China so be patient for responses as mine always came in the middle of the night.*Accessories: Since this is new, Amazon does not have anything specific for the 4G LTE model. I have ordered a charger, screen protector & cases for the original TicWatch Pro and will report whether or not they fit this model.*Summary: So far I am happy with the TicWatch Pro 4G LTE. The price was fair & had all the options I was looking for.

Great all around smartwatch with excellent battery life!!!
UPDATE 11/14/2020: Over 10 months of owning this watch. It is generally great. The biggest gripe I have is the touchy charging. Half of the time when I put it on the charge (original charger I got with the watch), it doesn't even register that it's on a charger. Far less frequently, it starts charging but stops later and I return to find a dead watch. I also wish the watch had some kind of warning notification when the battery is low, because once it switches to LCD-only mode, I struggle to get it to turn back on or to charge. When the battery isn't an issue, though, the watch is great. I contemplated "upgrading" to the new TicWatch, but there's no LTE version yet. I'll likely wait another generation to see what happens with Wear OS.UPDATE 1/10/2020: I've had the watch now for almost two weeks now. I've gotten quite used to it. I usually wait until it's below 20% or so to charge it, and it takes about 1.5 hours to charge. I typically do this while I'm working so I don't mess up my step count. I really don't understand why people complain about battery life. I don't have to charge the watch any more often than I expect (I get about 1.5 days of HEAVY use out of it). This includes daily walks tracked using Google Fit, lots of music controls, and lots of notifications and messaging. Here are my other observations so far:-WEAR OS - still not was good as iOS, it's getting better. There aren't a lot of apps, but the ones that do exist work well (Maps, Messages, Fit, Keep, etc.) all work well. Just don't expect many non-Google apps. Tasker does have an extension for Wear OS, but I haven't explored it yet - that could offer a ton of additional possibilities.-GOOGLE ASSISTANT - this is the game-changer here. Anything you can do with Assistant, you can now do on your watch! I can control my smart home devices, including Sonos, SmartThings, Harmony, August, etc. Like Tasker, the possibilities are endless. Related to this, the voice recognition on the watch is AMAZING. The best I've seen, ever. When I respond to text messages using voice, it has a 99.9% success rate, including punctuation!-TIC SLEEP - I didn't realize that this is a separate app you need to install on the watch. Once I did, it works great. No issues detecting sleep or wake up. There are two areas for future improvement: (1) Google Fit integration (Mobvoi confirmed to me in an email that they're working on this); and (2) the smart/gentle alarm function (it just doesn't work as they describe; in the same email, Mobvoi said they will look into this).-CUSTOMIZING - don't be afraid to search Google Play if there's something about the watch you don't like. I had two instances of this: (1) the screen timeout was too fast for me, so I downloaded an app (StayLit Wear) that keeps the screen on until I lower my wrist; and (2) I wanted to track my watch battery while it charges, so I found another app (Wear Battery Full) that does that (it also sends a notification when it's full, so you can get it back on your wrist). Neither of these are Mobvoi issues; they're deficiencies with Wear OS - but easily solved.ORIG REVIEW: Great watch. I'm a prior Samsung Gear Watch user. Wear OS is great, if only because of Google Fit and Google Assistant. Fit is awesomely simple. And Assistant can do it all. So much better than Bixby. Essential mode is cool too. I use that 99.9% of the time with wrist rotation off. Couldn't be happier with a smart watch. The Apple Watch is superior, sure. But for Android users this is pretty darn good!
