Fixed Extended height chair with cost effective replacement....
I had an extended height chair that I bought about a year ago from one of the office supply stores (St*****) at a great price and although it worked fine with my standup desk, the footrest kept slipping no matter how tight I turned the adjustment knob. Over time the inner liner of the center ring, started to come apart and I tried a lot of different things to address the slippage but never got it right. I finally had it a couple of days ago and looked around for something to replace the ring and found it here. I learned a lot about how these chairs are designed and replacing the ring was fairly easy. I got it last night and switched it immediately and worked as described. I also added a sleeve made from 2 inch PVC pipe over the chair pole so the ring would sit on it and not be constantly slipping down which seems to be a pretty common problem with these chairs. I am quite happy I didn't have to throw out the chair and buy something a lot more expensive. I won this round for now, hopefully the rest of the chair will last a while.A proud DIY, who grew up to fix things and not throw them away if you can help it.

Great idea for my chair however interview if you use a tall are based chair period
So I sit on a chair that has the rollerblade type wheels and I'm constantly dangling my feet off the side and trying to rearrange the base so that I can put my feet on the five spokes. I got the idea to search for this from my wife's dental assistant chair. I did some research and came across this one and I went with the largest size 20 inches. The idea is fantastic and the quality on this is top-notch however like I mentioned earlier since I'm on a taller rollerblading type wheeled chair I actually had to turn this upside down because it's too high even at the lowest setting for my particular chair. So now I have 4 uncomfortable spokes (that attache the ring to the chair) where my feet occasionally will rest on but overall I'm keeping it because the ability to put my feet on a circle is much more comfortable than the wheel Spokes of the chair's base. Have a look at my photos to see what I am talking about. If you like my review please give it a thumbs up! Thanks.

Works well for me and helps my posture
Not the strongest in the world, but does what I want it to. Also, please read the other reviews that advise on easier install by just removing the legs and for installing this ring upside-down to lower it!

Works great - east to install and adjust.
Works great on my 2" chair piston. Sturdy, well made ring - looks great. Perhaps other lower reviews have a different diameter???Nice plastic/rubber inside ring, install in a minute...after the chair feet / stand comes off....that can be a bear. Recently changed the piston, so pretty easy removal....YMMV.... but thst is not the fault of this part!

Works as advertised
Works great. Seems to be well made. Doesn’t slip out of place.

Was a snap to install and is sturdy.
Do not even try to dismantle the chairs hydraulic cylinder. Turn the chair upside down and slide out the metall retention clip at the bottom. Then the tube slides right apart, the footrest slides right on, and you are done in five minutes.

Lighter and smaller than I had imagined
It’s steady enough, but make no mistake that it’s hallow inside hence how light it was. It’s also pretty small. If you are sitting on a bar stool, you can probably fold your legs and rest your feet on it. However, if you are using it on a office/drafting chair, it’s simply too small to be able to use it.
