The Polaroid Microphone Shock Mount features a dual mount design that accommodates tubular microphone bodies up to 1.25" in diameter. It can be mounted via a metal hot shoe or threaded connections (1/4 20, 3/8). The mount includes extra suspension bands for added stability and allows for horizontal or vertical adjustments, making it a versatile choice for audio professionals.

Mounting options not entirely accurate in description
The reason I purchased this was due to the mounting options, primarily the 3/8 that is in the title and description. The packaging and item state "Dual-Mount" design, but only for a hot shoe mount or 1/4-20 mount. I don't know where the 3/8 got into the mix, there is no such option. It is capable of being mounted directly to a stand with 5/8 thread, although I haven't tried. I have a Gitzo G557 boom pole which has 3/8 thread on the end, female. Fortunately I cut the end off a hot shoe adapter I had that had both 3/8 and 1/4 threads and was able to make it work. So if you're buying this for the 3/8 thread, think again.

Appropriate option
It is clear that for the price not a product pro get, but fulfills its function in a proper way, it comes with a spare of a stronger elastic band that ensures better microphone, is a solution of introduction to more decent catch sound.Es claro que por el precio no se obtiene un producto pro, pero cumple con su funcion de una manera adecuada, viene con un repuesto de una banda elastica mas fuerte que aseguran mucho mejor el microfono, es una solucion de introduccion a la captura mas decente del sonido

Good for the price
It does the job, includes 2 spare bands and held my microphone well. My one complaint was the shoe mount for the camera, which I was unable to tighten. This caused the whole thing flop around. I resolved this by adding a small piece of rubber gasket under the screw. This also served to protect the camera from damage from the lock nut.

Excellent for the price
I bought this as a companion to some improvised boom poles I had made from monopods. I've used professional level shock mounts before, and I can say that, for mics that are 21mm in diameter and under, this performs very well. noise isolation was excellent and completely nullifies handling noise, even from the monopods I am using, which are nothing close to professional level poles. The shock bands seem very resilient, and keep even fairly large mics centered well and without danger of hitting the mount itself. The quarter inch thread is more than adequate for my purpose, and the inclusion of a hot shoe mount really cinches it. For ten dollars, you will most likely never get a better deal than this. Fantastic for low budget purposes.

BETTER than anticipated!
Another great value available by shopping AMAZON.COM! This probably isn't the best shock mount, but it's just perfect for the use it gets every now and again on my DSLR. At only $15 it offers a substantial savings over more expensive models.

High quality, all around
Buying this, I was skeptical of two things - the integrity of the rubber bands, and its ability to hold a mic securely in place. I've had this thing for a few months and the bands have stayed tight and show no sign of deteriorating. They hold anything from a small shotgun microphone to my Sure sm58 (which I will admit I've squeezed in there when I was in a pinch for stands). The clamp really holds the mic in place, even with XLR cords pulling down on the back of the mic. This thing is small, compact, high quality, 5 Stars.

Great Price!
I inherited the mic and it was missing a mount. I found this one and it seems like it will do the job. Haven't really tried it yet but I like the way it's assembled. Simple.

Well built, priced right!
I'm using this with an Audio Technica AT897. The Polaroid comes in a plastic bubble package with a manual and 2 extra rubber bands. The hotshoe mount is made from metal which is a big plus. It is much less likely to break the way a plastic hotshoe connector would. (I've had that happen with a flash mounted on a camera) The swivel is easy to adjust and the microphone is held in place tightly even when my camera is pointed down.Great price too considering that these uusually cost $25-50. A great value and highly recommended.

Works OK.
Cheap build quality. But it has not broken and it holds a small mic on the camer.

I have two of these that i use all the time, my only issue is that the screw to tighten the actual shock mount doesnt tighten very well, and the microphone often moves abit (im using a rode ntg-2)

polaroid mic shock mount
this item arrived many days before it was due, not used it yet, but seems a bit small for my mic, but that is my fault, at this price I won't be sending it back; can't fault the service.

Does the job perfectly. The mount took a little time to work out though. The square bottom is a separate piece to the round screwey bits above.
