The book is great
El libro es genial, tanto para la literatura de QA como para la certificación de Software Foundation Tester Level de ISTQB.

Book alright but not perfect for the beginner.
A few chapters in this book are too technical and complex for the beginner and even an intermediate tester; but all the same that was one of the tools I used in passing my ISTQB exam.

Badly written but necessay
Like most BCS titles this is overwritten but has the information you need to achieve the certification. The problem is that most of the time, people who buy it don't seem to have read it (I speak as someone who teaches the syllabus). I suspect that this is because the book puts them to sleep. The authors never use one word when five or six could be used and never use one sentence when the information can't be spread over a paragraph. Sadly, for the ISTQB exams, this is about it in the UK - BCS write the examinations (equally poorly), and the strategy seems to be to see how ambiguously the writers can describe a concept to mar a candidate's chances of success in the exams. Mediocrity at it's finest.

This book should be the subject of formal inspection before the next edition.
As someone who bought this book to get up to speed before taking the ISTQB foundation level exam in software testing, I have lived with it every day for months. These are my observations. My overall impression of this book is that it is very densely written. OK, it's a very detailed area of study, but as you get deeper, real problems become apparent. For example, chapter numbers are referenced in the text, but there are no chapter numbers on the page headings, only the title. Also, you only get a chapter number to look for, not a section or page number. So, you end up doing a lot of extra reading to find what you're looking for. As a side note, none of the sections in any chapter is numbered. There are very few diagrams in this book, which is odd because much of the information would benefit from being graphically summarised. The chapters are written by different people with different writing styles. Some are rambling, others terse. Some are punctuated by long lists of things to remember, others are presented as long narrative paragraphs. There are some downright errors in this book. On page 160 of the 2019 edition, for example, there's a mathematical error in the section about calculating risk. It does not appear in the previous edition. How is that even possible? There's also inconsistent use of terminology, and even terminology being used without first being introduced or defined. You'll have to go online for many definitions because they're simply not covered here. This brings me on to the index, which is very poor indeed. This is a 283-page technical book, with a 5-page index. Many terms are simply not referenced at all.You will need to take a proper course before sitting the exam to fill in the blanks this book leaves. On the plus side, you will get a lot out of this book, but you'll damned well work for it.

Impenetrable
This book is written with absolutely no consideration given to it's intended reader. This is a FOUNDATION LEVEL text book yet the language used is fraught technical jargon, unreadable and rambling paragraphs and obnoxiously long lists. After reading this book, end to end, twice, I can comfortably say that my knowledge of software testing is a confused mess. The practice exam questions at the end of each chapter are convoluted and difficult to understand, ladened with language beyond comprehension and specific technical jargon that's barely referenced or extrapolated upon within the chapter.A close friend of mine who has been working in software testing for several years now has stated to me that whats stipulated in the book is worlds away from the actual day to day rigours of her job.The main problem I have with the book is that there is minimal to no effort made to make this accessible, this is meant to be for beginner but it's like trying to learn French by reading a French dictionary.

Choice of language is not great
The language used is not great.. I suggest you read a sample first. Doesn’t seem like its a book for beginners.
