Lightweight Safety Bump Cap - Breathable Baseball Style Protective Hat with Reflective Stripes

This is a fantastic option for safety. Colors and material are nice but most importantly it is protective. It is not uncomfortable for what it is.

This casual look helmet is something attractive to wear, shades the eyes and protects the head without looking like you are wearing a hardhat. A hardhat it is not, as it’s level of protection is limited, but I recently suffered a traumatic brain injury when a reckless driver hit me at the side of the road, and although I am not participating in activities that would normally require a hardhat, I must protect my head to avoid further injury during my healing time. This hat looks sharp and is comfortable, while providing protection from bumps and falls that may occur. I have really enjoyed owning this very nice protective hat.

I was looking for a bump cap to protect my head as I am missing a piece of skull while I wait for an implant. I wanted a socially accepted alternative to the behemoth blue helmet received at the hospital, that I found frightens kids and dogs at the park when out walking. I was impressed by the quality and design of this baseball bump hat and would recommend to others. No one would ever know this was bump cap. The built in chin strap is an added safety feature that I highly recommend. However, as much as I like this hat it did not work for me as it was not big enough to cover defect, maybe it has something to do with where missing skull is located. Note, I wear a lightweight cotton cap over my head for added comfort under cap, another reason why a larger size ball cap was needed.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: It looked lightweight Head protection: It's a bit too lightweight Build quality: The strap went limb in the first month of using it. The strap is flimsy and it doesn't keep the helmet on my son's head!

Good little bump cap. It is a bit large for our toddler. It is not the hat's fault that he won't keep it on. He really likes it for a minute...

I use this working in a theatre lighting catwalk with a low ceiling and lots of electrical conduits and sprinkler pipes that you can hit your head on. It works very well to make those impacts less painful and its low profile makes it better than hardhat for this situation. The cap fits my head quite securely and the chin strap adds an extra bit of security, but you need to have it adjusted fairly tight or else it can slip off when you're looking down. The small brim allows you to see what's above your head better than a regular hardhat brim and you can flip it up for even better visibility. My only complaint is that is could use better ventilation. There are only a few tiny holes so the inside of the cap gets completely drenched with sweat after only a short time. Luckily, the fabric liner and cover is easily removable and washable.

Bought it for discreet head protection. Doesn't draw attention, the brim creates a lot of good shade for looking at my camera during photography. I have a very small head and was worried about size, but if I buckle the strap in the back it creates a secure fit without looking too odd. As you'd expect it isn't a lot of protection, but it can reduce minor bumps or prevent scrapes and cuts to the head. My one complain is that the padding is only on the top and front, a bit on the sides would give better protection in more situations
