StarTech.comUniversal Laptop USB Docking Station with VGA Audio Ethernet (USBVGADOCK2)

I got this to connect my new Dell Inspiron laptop (Windows 7) to a Dell monitor and to use the USB ports for my printer, keyboard and mouse. The USB ports work fine but no matter what I did, I couldn't get the monitor to connect. I contacted technical support and they told me to reinstall the driver--which I tried 3 times but still, nothing. Am returning and getting a different product.

This worked perfectly with my HP mini netbook. HP quit making the video display cables that connect an external monitor, but this dock took care of that problem and gave me extra USB ports. StarTech brand is great and proven.

Worked perfectly out of the box. Just what I needed/wanted

I've just started using this and on the internet it seems okay, but there's a delay in Word and it's VERY ANNOYING as what I use it for is Word. Not sure if I'll keep this or not, but I bought it two months ago, so Dell (who sold it to me) might not take it back. Especially since I don't have the box. I needed it to hook my external monitor to my new laptop.

It took several tries to get working drivers for this dock on a new Dell Vostro. The external monitor works, but it required disabling almost all Aero features of Windows 7 that otherwise work on the laptop. There is sometimes a delay on the screen of a couple seconds, which makes the whole thing feel cheap.

We bought two of these devices from LambdaTek ComponentShop - it was and continues to be an endurance test for anyone who wants to battle with a poor product and hopelessly difficult and disorganised customer service which excels at wasting time:We used the dockers for an HP laptop and a Sony laptop and both computers failed to work with the docking station in the way advertised. For example the internet connection stopped working; the connection to our screens were intermittent; and we never managed to get our printers working. After paying an engineer a half days consultancy to get our laptops back to normal he recommended we return the docking stations to LambdaTek which we did.I returned the dockers to LambdaTek as directed by their customer services team. They confirmed receipt and that we'd be refunded. A bit later LambdaTek re-contacted me - they had changed their minds - and said they had not received both docking stations and asked for proof that I had returned them!! Other than their original confirmation of receipt of the said useless docking stations what other proof could I offer them?Weeks have rolled into months, one email from them has rolled into dozens and I am resigned to accept that this company has no intention of refunding my money.POOR, REALLY POOR IN EVERY RESPECT.NEVER EVER AGAIN. BUYER BEWARE.

Good product

Needed a dock to allow me to run a separate keyboard and monitor with speakers. Allows me to use my laptop as a desktop and still be able to easily disconnect and take my laptop with me. Great solution to running two computers.
