10 years in the making, the Ultra Dance series is the longest running and most highly anticipated dance compilation release in North America. Ultra Dance 10 maintains the series' reputation for hosting the hottest tunes and mixes of the year. The 2009 release features an incredible exclusive track, T.I. feat. Rihanna 'Live Your Life' and also includes Britney Spears, Flo Rida feat. Will.i.am, Estelle, Plies feat. Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Usher, Chris Brown, Kid Cudi and many more. This special decade edition of Ultra Dance is mixed by none other than Jason Nevins, famed remixer, chart-topping producer and DJ at NYC's legnedary radio station, Z100. Ultra Has Done it Again
After listening to Ultra's Mixes, the originals always leave you wanting. I can't get enough of them. And the new format is perfectly fine.

Race to the Bottom
This series of CDs started out as fantastic cutting-edge dance music. Over the past few years, however it has made a mad dash for the bottom by moving from cutting edge to little more than rap and drum and bass. I'm not even sure that most of the songs could even be called "dance" I'm sure that this appeals to some, but for most of us this CD represents the headstone for what was once a much-anticipated dance release. RIP

Doesn't have as many songs as previous ULTRA DANCE compilations but I enjoyed this album a lot! Jason Nevins is awesome!
World renown producer and remixer Jason Nevins is back with another fantastic remix compilation for "Ultra Dance 10'! I remember when I first discovered Jason Nevins and it was back in the 90's from his remix of Run-DMC's "It's Like That", the song dominated the charts in different parts of the world and he has produced a good number of remixes since then. With "Ultra Dance 10', this continuous remix featuring 16 tracks include non-stop dance tracks such as T.I. feat Rihanna's hit track "Live Your Life", Britney Spear's "Break the Ice", Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" and many more. A good balance of dance tracks and hip hop, I just love the energetic vibe of tracks such as Britney Spears "Break the Ice" and the Benny Benassi Mix of Estelle feat. Kanye West's "American Boy". Especially for hip hop tracks such as Kid Cudi vs. Crooker's "Day `N Nite (Remix)" transforming the urban song to dance club synergy and the same can be said about "The The Ayer" feat. Flo Rida feat. Will.i.am. Upbeat, non-stop energy. All songs were presented quite nicely in this compilation album and for those who dig these remixes of popular contemporary tracks, you'll definitely dig "Ultra Dance 10'. From the "Dragonstea Dintei"-like track of "Live Your Life" kicking off the CD to Alina's "When You Leave Me (Numa Numa) (Basshunter Remix)", this compilation definitely is energetic and a remix that I found quite enjoyable! So, when it comes to remix albums, there are many who have more of a like towards European artists or non-popular contemporary artists and the "Ultra Dance" albums in the past have become quite varied and popular for that. This album tends to include quite a bit of popular artists from T.I., Rihanna, Britney Spears, Estelle, Chris Brown, Katy Perry, Usher, Christine Millan and more. I just felt that the overall musical presentation by Jason Nevins really gave a fresh new perspective to these songs and even made me even curious of artists that I really never listened to before. Listening to Nevin's remix of "Us Against the World" by Christine Millan, I found myself listening to this remix over and over again. Especially another perspective of songs such as "With You" by Chris Brown with this Kovas Ghetto Beat Extended Remix. Definitely a fresh remix of this track and others that it just made me enjoy these songs all over again with the new musical remix presentation courtesy of Nevins. Overall, it depends if you enjoy remixes and for those who owned previous versions of the "ULTRA DANCE" compilations, the past releases have included a second disc of more music, this one only has one disc of music. Personally, I have enjoyed Nevins work for well over a decade and I'm definitely not disappointed with his work on this album. I enjoyed it a lot! "ULTRA DANCE 10' is a remix album worth checking out!

loses a disc--and loses its versatility...
It's official--the Ultra series has been shaved down to one disc instead of two. And as a result, this volume is noticeably missing the range of dance styles that the former 2-disc volumes had. What The focus is predominantly on original mixes of hip hop sings as well as house mixes of hip hop artists. It rarely strays from those styles. Having said that, this is a pretty enjoyable mix, with plenty of tracks you'll recognize, and plenty of mixes you can't find anywhere else. Britney's Break the Ice is mixed to great effect by Jason Nevins. Katy Perry's huge hit gets a little more electro in remixed form. The mixes of Estelle, Chris Brown, Flo Rida, Usher, Rihanna, and Christina Milian are hard to come by on CD so are very welcome here--especially since many of them run over 5 minutes. Jason Nevins' own "Open Ur Mind" features a female vocalist and borrows it's entire chorus from the Blessed Union of Souls 90s ballad "I Believe". And the final track "When You Leave" sort of bookends the collection by borrowing the catchy vocal riff from the first track by TI and Rihanna an original club stomper.

A little more hip-hoppy than expected...
When I first popped this CD into the player, I also had to double-check the CD packaging to see if I had purchased Ultra Hip Hop (or Ultra R&B), as noted by the other reviewers. But after listening to the CD for about a month, it has grown on me a bit, especially the second half of the CD. I listen to all types of music, including some hip hop, but that style of music is much further down my "favorites" list. I give this release 3 stars, taking away one star for the hip hop inclusion and the second because Ultra Dance 10 isn't a double CD set like all of the other Ultra series that I have purchased (Ultra Dance, Ultra Weekend, Ultra 200x). I like the double CD format because the second disc traditionally included several songs that are not widely heard. Hopefully Ultra reads these reviews and will take corrective action for the inevitable vol. 11.

Is this the end of an ok series...
I Don't need to buy this album to know how bad it is. Ultra completely lost it with this ridiculous "compilation" This is not Ultra.Dance status.. this is hip hop and pop remixed with the title Ultra Dance which surely doesn't deserve it. .. What the hell went through Ultra records mind??? I've never been completely satisfied with previous ultra.Dance compilations but compared to this album, those albums are masterpieces... this album has no real house, electro, or trance in here.. there is no big dance music names. Is this suppose to be the album of the year??? how pathetic. It is just radio music, literally. I would recommend Ultra.2009 at least it has 2discs and it is a lot more varied. Don't waste your money on this, u can listen to this songs on the radio for free! plus to be realistic you'll be over all this songs in a month.. peace!
