Mine also came with no shaft. Only the base was included in the package. I've contacted the seller as both the pictures of the product and the product description indicate that the full stand, not just the base, is included in the order.

yes, this should be compatible with most shock mounts.

Q: What is the thread size for the mic attachment point?

I'm not sure of the exact size, but the threads are the standard size that accept a common microphone holder such as from Shure.

Q: will this mic stand work/fit the blue microphones yeti?

probably need adapter from any music supply store
