Replaced a PD5110610 with this newer model (PD5110010Q)
The model that shipped was the latest version (PD5110010Q) from Progressive Dynamics, this model contains Quick Flip Lever Lock Connectors. Previous versions were the PD5110010 with pigtails and my old version; PD5110610 with screw terminal blocks. My old unit failed for what appeared to be a defective circuit breaker on the power pylon that did not trip under overload, causing the wires for the shore power at the terminal block to heat up and burn off their insulation. This unit installed easily, however I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the instruction manual could have been better. I copied the connections from my old unit, which were labeled. The new unit had no labels and the same wiring diagram sticker under the lid as the old one. I could see how some folks might be confused by the lack of clear hookup instructions if it was a new install, and no reference to follow.Previous reviews suggest the terminal block model is better and the quick flip connectors are somehow 'cheaper'. I suggest this model is an improvement over a terminal block style. Easier to wrangle the wires and no chance of stripping a screw on a terminal block.

Great Product.
We are full time RVer's on 30 amps. and this item replaced the PD5110610 previous model number. My husband didn't have any problems installing this. It would be nice if each wire was marked (writing on the wire)- but it list more information in the paperwork. Definitely take a pic. or video for matching up the wiring if your not familiar with this. This item was shipped to us right away, which was awesome considering we live in our RV. So glad we are up and running again.

Right description, wrong product picture.
On 11/1 my original PD transfer switch fried up after 2 years and 10 months of use. Almost causing a fire if it wasn't for the breaker tripping. We use our RV, so we needed a replacement quick. Not an easy task if you live in an RV supply store dessert. This unit was advertised as being able to ship by 11/3. Cool! By reading the description and a few reviews I figured out quick that the picture was not equal to the unit sold. I was OK with that. Come 11/3, I get a notification around 3 PM, that shipping is delayed by at least a day. Really? Amazon can't ship something from Tampa to Venice? 1 1/2 hours apart? This thing is sold and shipped by Amazon. Get your act together.Like I said, the only reason I went for this unit was the fact that it would be here a day earlier than the other units available. As for the unit itself, the housing is identical to the previous unit. It has the same sticker as the previous unit, yet the guts are different. No more screw in terminals. The sticker does not match what you find inside. I did a well educated guess and went with my gut feeling. And I did not blow up my RV. Somehow I got it right. It works. I did not test the generator yet because it was in the middle of the night when I installed it, with a by now dead house battery. To Amazon, fix your item description. To PD, I understand in order to make money, you need to save money. But put a freaking sticker on your cables, so one know what goes where.I am sure I will update this if something comes up.

This updated version replaces the old part perfectly.
This auto switch replaced an older version of itself that like many others burned itself out at the hot wire connection. This new version fit perfectly after clipping the burned ends of the camper wires and is an exact updated versions of the older units. My Jayco T32C is a 2017 model so these are fairly recent updates. We will see if the new wire clamps work better than the old aluminum screw type wire connections.I needed this part badly since we had reservations to camp in a national park. Amazon Prime came through with 2 day shipping that put us underway on schedule. Thanks for the prompt shipping!Don

... switches or anything fancy and so far it works like a champ
Installed this in my RV to separate shore power and my Inverter power without having switches or anything fancy and so far it works like a champ. If handled and installed properly, there is no reason that the board on the device would go bad. I am not a certified electrician, but always remember you are dealing with power, neutral and a ground, it's not rocket science. I'm sure the board would go bad if somebody boneheaded the thing and connected things in the wrong place. Just put the two incoming power sources in the Very Well Labeled terminal strips and put the properly sized wire for the load distribution in to the Very Well Labeled output side and I'm sure everything will always be okay. If you Mix and Match anything, I'm sure that's when the quick change board comes in handy. Word of Advice, double and triple check what you did and where it goes

I use it in my house.
Nice little relay. Ease to install. Thanks to this relay, I moved a few circuits to a sub panel and power those circuits from three power sources. The only device that did notice the switch over was a Direct TV receiver. Once I put a small UPS on it, problem solved. The only thing I was worried about was if I would lose power when the relay switched to the Battery Bank due to the delay feature for generators. Nope, no loss of power, the led bulbs flicker a bit, that's all. Glad I tested the switch over before disabling the delay.Power sources:Grid-Tied Solar Panels - SR to SSElectric Co - Low Sun and after SSBattery Bank - PM and early AM

Perfect replacement transfer switch
I lost my original transfer switch because one of the wire nuts connecting shore power into it came loose, melted then allowed the wire to arc to the metal case. There is none of that with this transfer switch. The case is plastic (so nothing to arc to), and the connections are screw terminals so even if things did loosen up, the wires would stay positioned and not move around. It was a little...challenging to find somewhere to retrofit mounting, but once mounted and hooked up, everything worked perfectly.
