Design flaws
Nice big numbers on key pad, but the buttons for memorized phone numbers are small and not easy to read. There's a place to write down what those memory buttons are for, but it's also small, and of no use if the user has poor eyesight (as my father does). There is a way to jack up the sound level, but it's a combination of a hard-to-find button on the inside of the phone (next to the battery) plus a volume slider on the side, PLUS a "boost" button on the front of the phone. Frankly, we could never get the combination of these things right, and the phone finally got put aside. My dad got better results from a cheap corded phone he found at RiteAid, which has a volume control and very large buttons. He wishes it were a cordless, but at least he can hear with it.

Wonderful phone for low sight
.It works wonderfully. Bought it for my aunt she’s very happy with it. The only problem is it beeps every 6 to 13 minutes. I can’t find anything in the manual to help with this

Poorly designed and not effective
I bought this phone for my mother, who is moderately hard of hearing. I set it up for her with maximum volume and with the AMP setting always on. The volume was still too low for her. I took the phone back to my home to test it myself. I tried various combinations of the volume and tone and AMP settings, and I still got no results.Having two different ways of increasing the volume (using the volume switch and/or the AMP button) is confusing. Why not just have a single volume control that is easily accessible on the handset (not a tiny toggle switch on the side of the handset)? This phone was a waste of money. Unfortunately I waited too long, and it's now too late to return it.My sister got my mother a much less expensive amplified phone, and she is very happy with it.
