Sony GTK-X1BT 500W All-in-One Wireless Speaker System

Im here to add to the mass 5 star ratings of this speaker. This boombox has been getting a lot of good ratings and quite rightly too, its big size and fantastic sound quality makes it my favourite audio product at the moment.First of all, the looks for the product are good. I admit its not to everyones taste, but I like it. The speaker consists of two larger bass speakers in the centre of the product and then two tweeters on the outside of the bass ones. Its a nice look and gives good sound quality. Theres a small LCD screen on the top left (/right depending on which way you have it standing up), which displays the audio source it's connected to, as well as volume and all of the other options that are built into the speaker. Built into the top of the speaker, you will find a wheel that controls volume and effects, bellow which are the actual buttons for these options. On the front of the speakers, you can see the buttons for pause, play and skip etc. They look nice enough and don't take up too much room. Finally, the LEDs. The LEDs weren't the main reason for me buying this product, but they are a nice feature to have. Despite offering good options for the lights, I feel that they could be a bit brighter and stand out more, but thats just personal preference.Next, audio quality. I have to say that I'm impressed with this speaker when it comes to audio. It provides the user with crisp, clear sound and surprisingly doesn't distort when turned up. As you would expect from such a beast, the bass is its main selling point. As the main music that I listen to is dance/electronic, this speaker is perfect in the lower ends, especially when its turned up and you can actually feel the bass in your chest! Up the higher end of the spectrum, the speaker does well. It isn't as impressive as the bass, but it does a good job and can be tuned to personal preferences using the EQ in the "Song Pall" app that goes with the speaker. All in all, the audio quality is great, and having different presets built into the device for different genres of music works well too.I'm in love with this speaker, its great for pretty much all of the music that I have and it is definitely a head turner! I would recommend this to anyone really, despite its price tag (which people are saying is low, but for me, this is actually quite steep, thanks to being unemployed :') Its great value for money!

I usually buy high end audio equipment but I just wanted something to put in the garden whilst BBQing etc so this unit seemed adequate. I am very very happy with the quality of this unit, the sound quality is great and its exceptional value for money.LED: regarding the LED's, they do beat to the music but be aware that when your input volume on your device is low the LED's will pulsate slowly and independently and not to your music, for instance if the volume on my iPhone is low but the volume on the speaker unit is high and therefore the music volume is moderate the LED's just pulsate slowly and do not go with the beat of the music but if the volume on my iPhone is high and the speaker unit volume is low so still giving a moderate volume the LED's go with the music. I was initially confused about this issue and thought my Sony GTK-X1BT had a problem, I searched all over the internet and no one seemed to be able to offer any advice, thus I left this review to help out. So keep your input volume high and then use the volume control on the Sony to govern the desired volume output, this will allow you to listen to your music at the desired volume and still have the LED's pulsate along with your music.Over all this system is exceptional value for money and i would highly recommend it to anyone, well done Sony.

1st unit led lights stopped beating to the music after a couple of weeks, replaced by Amazon. 2nd unit would not beat to music off the TV but would through iPad, sadly that also stopped working after only 1 week. 3rd replacement unit arrived today worked for all of 5 minutes then stopped beating to the sound of the music... This one is also going back ... I've had to pick an alternate manufacture .. clearly they have a design/production fault .. AVIOD! .. shame because the music sounded great both as a speaker and a sound bar to the TV. Wasted hrs on all 3 units, trying to get it working - SONY I EXPECTED BETTER.

Great design; awesome deep sound. It's a bit bulky, but this is what impressed me once I inbox it at home. My experience with this product is good in all its aspects: there are 4 devices at home and it connects all them without problem. The sound, using AAC codec via Bluetooth is impressively rich, and I can't notice difference using direct line-in connection. The bass are deep and powerful, almost no distortion at high volume. Despite it has no mid range drives, the unit delivers a good sound, so you don't miss them if you decide to get one. This model is the most powerful of it class: 500W of pure sound that will put goosebumps your guest. It also has light effects that follows the rithm of the music and creates disco atmosphere to your parties, so you'll have an impressive speaker that will become the centre of all your events. If I have to say a cons of this product, may be it mains cord: a little short in my opinion. Despite of it handles, it's a bit difficult to transport due it dimensions... It's huge! But it doesn't matter for me, because it's size is the warrant of a big resonance chamber and, of course, a deeper and higher level of bass in my parties. My friends and I have concluded the same: it's a good buy. Don't hesitate.
