Does it work for skydiving? Does the chute easily deploy from it?

I would not recommend this for skydiving. ;-P This is just a backpack styled to look similar to a parachute.

TSA approved with that metal latch?

I have never tried to wear it through TSA. But as I don’t see why it would be prohibited.

Is it big enough for a headset and a handheld radio and maybe a knee board?

Yes for the headset and hand held radio but i knee board is just a little too big for it. This bag easily holds a computer a change in clothes and like 4 textbooks
