MTEL English as a Second Language (ESL) Study Guide 2019-2020: Test Prep and Practice Test Questions for the ESL (54) Exam

This test prep is very thorough. In my opinion, they provide more information then you really need to know for the MTEL. Depending on the type of learner and test taker you are this can be good or bad 😂.

Excellent overview of topics. It could be improved with more examples of theories, methods and materials mentioned; but more importantly desperately needs updated content to reflect changes in educational policies and terminology (i.e. WIDA levels of lang. prof.). (Also, conflicting information i.e. WIDA acronym and the "W" meaning Washington p.157 [in actuality it's Wisconsin])

It is VERY comprehensive, well laid out and easy to maneuver through. There is a lot of educational material, and there are a multitude example questions and a killer practice exam.

I studied this book cover to cover and was really blindsided by the questions on the actual MTEL. I feel this did not prepare me at all.

I studied this book extensively. Only two questions from this book related to the ESL 54 test.

I liked that it was a compact study guide and easy to read and study. But more realistic exam questions can be incorporated. If you could also add a complete practice test, that would be great too.
