BEST GIN ALTERNATIVE
I have no idea what the other reviews are talking about. The taste is exquisite. Gin is generally my first choice/go-to spirit, and while this gin ALTERNATIVE does not taste exactly like gin (BECAUSE ITS NOT), it does have a wonderfully pleasant taste on its own. I generally mix mine with some fresh lime juice, agave syrup, and a splash of sparkling soda. It makes a FANTASTIC mocktail. I will never go back to any other nonalcoholic brand. This is my honest review, i have not been paid or given anything in exchange for this review. I purchased this (and every other spirit by ritual) out of my own pocket. Give it a try! It won’t disappoint

Other products are good, but the Gin is not. Can't return item to Amazon.
I truly love what this company is doing by making zero-proof spirits, providing an alternative to alcohol. To be fair, I've tried the Ritual Rum which I'd give 4/5 stars. It mimics the smell, look, and taste of dark rum very nicely. Their tequila I'd give 3/4 stars, as it has a little "bite", looks and smells like tequila, but it is a little more watery. I bought the rum and tequila from different sources so I didn't review these two on Amazon. Now, the gin. This was the product I looked forward to most, since it's featured first on Ritual's website as award winning. Unfortunately, it fell far short in look, smell, and especially taste. Other reviews are correct in saying it has an odd taste which to me, doesn't taste like gin at all. I do not recommend the gin product at all. IMPORTANT TO KNOW: When buying directly from Ritual, they have a satisfaction guarantee on their website. I recommend buying directly through them. When you buy via Amazon, AMAZON WILL NOT LET YOU RETURN THE PRODUCT. This is not listed anywhere on the product description or ordering page. When I tried to return the gin, I fell into an infinite loop and could only resolve my issue via a chatbot. Refund is still pending.

Just What I Needed
Every year I take a month off of drinking to prepare for or recover from holiday indulgences. During these months, I have often felt that what I missed was not beer, wine, or spirits, per se, but the rituals surrounding those drinks - the mixing of the cocktail after work, or sharing a concoction with friends and family. And so, Ritual piqued my interest. I’ve used the Ritual Gin Alternative in virgin gimlets and g&ts, and find it a nice substitute. It’s worth thinking of it as Ritual would ask you to think about it: as a veggie burger is to a hamburger, Ritual is to gin. It has the same floral character of gin, though in place of the burn of the alcohol there is what I think is a mild capsaicin burn. The flavor and burn give this a complexity that is often missing in mocktails. I won’t be giving up gin on a permanent basis. It’s too delicious. But for Sober October, or for days when I need to wake up early to work or work out, I’ll happily sub this into my gin cocktail of choice.

You need to stick with cocktails that complement mint
My favorite drink in the world is a French 75. I found a great dealcoholized processco and was so looking forward to mixing it with this. The disappointment when I did was a little ridiculous, even for me. It was horrible. I took a sip and spit it out and poured out the drink. The mint and capsaicin flavors from this "gin" we way too strong and it was nasty. Not one to give up, i tried a Moscow mule, using sugar free ginger beer, a simple syrup made from Splenda, and fresh lime and mint leaves. This was really good and refreshing. This got multiple thumbs up from drinkers at a party. I then tried my summer drink of muddled mint, blueberries, and limes with seltzer and this "gin" - again, tasted great. So the conclusion is if your recipe involves mint, this is a solid choice. If mint would make your cocktail taste funky, skip this. One note: The capsaicin really does burn your throat though (at least mine) so it does limit how much/fast you can drink this.

Does not taste like gin
If, like me, you enjoy the taste of gin, this product is NOT for you. I have tried a large variety of gins in my life, and even those I would rate as poor are much better than Ritual Zero Proof Gin. It tastes nothing like gin. To give it a fair test—thinking it was only designed to serve as a gin substitute in mixed drinks—I also tried it as a gin and tonic. Nope, still yuck. I have only returned a couple of products to Amazon even though I’m a fairly heavy Amazon shopper. I wish I could return this, but it doesn’t qualify. Bummer

Very disappointing and overpriced
Not that I drink vodka straight up, I took a sip of this by itself and almost spit it out. It was unpleasant both during and after taste. However, after I mixed it with tonic water and put in my lime piece, it was ok. The only reason I got it is because I may have to avoid alcohol sugars for a month. But now I’m hoping I can go back to regular vodka after that. It’s expensive for the taste. Would not buy again.

Ritual Gin Alternative - This is actually really good!
I was skeptical to try this because I have heard that booze alternatives just miss the mark. I have quit drinking for personal reasons but I really missed my refreshing gin and tonics. So, once I was past the really "desperate" phase of quitting the drink, I decided to give this a chance. If you're looking for a burny alcohol smell and mouth feel, this is not for you. I enjoy tonic on it's own with a squeeze of lime, but it was just missing something. So, when this arrived, I was excited to see if it would make a difference. I used 1 1/2 oz of Ritual with 6 oz of Fever Tree Light Indian Tonic and a wedge of lime. I am really pleasantly surprised. Ritual adds some depth to tonic - herbal for sure with a touch of cucumber flavor at the end. Even my husband enjoyed it. It's not exactly a gin taste, but it's really close. I took it one step further and tried it with about 5 dashes of Fee Brother's Gin Barrel Orange Bitters. It's perfect...almost like nothing is missing. For the price and experience, I will definitely buy this again.

Doesn't taste like gin, personally.
To me, it doesn't have a gin taste: juniper. I was looking for a basic, alcohol free gin alternative and have a difficulty saying that this will satisfy. London Dry Gin (not all highly botanical) is what I like, so nothing special. If it works for you, outstanding; unfortunately you might be disappointed.
