This is a nice little accessory to cool down one's barrel during a cease-fire. The red color and positioning allow it to easily replace a chamber flag. It runs pretty long on a single cell. In my case, an hour to an hour and a half so far with no sign of waning. The small size and design of this gadget are also commendable. One downside is that it has a high pitched wine which can easily be heard from 20 feet (or more) away. So far that whine has only stirred interest in the device, but it would be better if it was more muffled. The second and most important limitation is that it really doesn't blow a lot of air. It will certainly reduce chamber and barrel temperature during a 10 minute pause but it would probably take half an hour to get a medium profile barrel back close to ambient temperature. Given the rather high price I hesitate to recommend it but if you're OK with that then you will probably find a use for it.

My shooting buddy has a couple of the knockoff ones and they're junk, might as well have an asthmatic mouse blowing down your barrel. This thing moves 10x more air than the cheap copies and cools a barrel dramatically faster. It's also the best design of the several I've used.

Updated Review after 2nd unit failed: That's right, both units failed. I decided to open it up and see what is going on. Turns out they are using a tiny 7x16mm brushed (less reliable than brushless motors) quad-copter motor from BetaFPV. The problem with this is that these motors aren't designed to run at constant 100% throttle or more than a few minutes at a time- more typically they are run at 50% throttle and because there is as small battery and 4 motors, runtime is generally around 3minutes or so. Because the motor is wired directly to the battery with no protection circuit, it is far too easy for the motor to overheat- especially since there is no airflow in the small case. I suppose you could limit how long you run the RifleKuhl to only 2-3 minutes so as to not destroy the motor, but then how much barrel cooling will you actually see? There isn't even a warning telling you to not run it for extended periods or it will break your RifleKuhl. Worse still, MagnetoSpeed says the RifleKuhl is compatible with rechargeable CR123a batteries (check my question here on Amazon) which when fully charged are 4.2V which only makes the problem worse (since higher voltage generates more heat). So yeah, I don't know what MagnetoSpeed was thinking here... it's clear that reliability was not a serious concern while designing the unit. Instead the optimized for size. It's great there is a 2 year warranty, but I'd rather have something that is more reliable. Original Review: Blows pretty well. About 12-15mph according to my wind meter. That said, the volume of air isn't massive since bullet diameters are what they are. But I figured anything was better than nothing. That said first time I used it was for about a total of 7 or 8 minutes. After a few minutes, I heard the tone of the fan change- sounded like it was going slower? I assumed the batter just isn't going to last very long. Then a few minutes later it sounded like it slowed down even further. Then 30sec later it stopped spinning altogether. Turns out the little motor driving the fan had gotten REALLY HOT and was actually smoking! Definitely a strong burnt smell. Poor little motor didn't even last 10minutes. Not really a good sign. I have other MagnetoSpeed equipment and generally never had any complaints about quality until now. Anyways, returning this for another one... hopefully it was just a bad unit? Other than that, not sure what else to say... It's kinda over priced for $60 if you ask me, but I suspect they don't sell a ton of these so price is gonna be higher. The quality of the plastic is not great and the battery door fitment is not good. At least it came with a battery. Honestly, it feels cheap... so maybe I shouldn't be surprised that the super small and high speed motor burns out after one use? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Didn't even get a chance to see how well it fits in my various rifles. So yeah, 1 star for now. If the 2nd unit is better I'll update my review.

I love this thing! Works as advertised. Battery lasts a long time (several trips to the range) and cools my suppressor much faster

This thing is fantastic! Seriously the best item I’ve bought on Amazon at this price. I like to take 3 rifles to the range and burn a ton of ammo. I can keep this thing running as I rotate rifles and keep them all on reasonable cold bore status. Fantastic!

great size its well works

Very useful barrel cooler for those warm to hot days on the range. I found that it does not fit all chambers of all rifles so I place it in the muzzle. Because of that the company should look at a removable adapter to lengthen the tube for that purpose. The current end is just a little shy of length to hold properly in the muzzle.
