SIMPLE, they work great and an excellent value
I bought one of these many years ago and I still have it and it still works great. Since we use lots of batteries and I get sick and tired of it not getting put back where it belongs, I bought this 4 pack a couple months ago and so far they work good too. Now we have one in the kitchen, in the den, in my tool bench in the garage and in my car. Ahhhh, life just got better for a very small price (now that I do not have to search for one).I also bought a couple different cheap ones too a little over a year ago, including a Gardner Bender GBT-500A with leads for about $12, because I really wondered if the one I had like this was being reasonably accurate. So far, the others have given the same readings and so my old one was still good.I also bought a very expensive rechargeable battery charger, reader, tester since we use mostly rechargeables. Much more accurate for rechargeables of course, but normally I just need to know if a battery is bad, good, or fully charged. So bottom line is that they are the easiest to use and reasonably accurate for my purposes. Very much recommend them for that reason.

Nice cheap little unit.
I got a bunch of these to test my NIMH batteries out of the charger. They do a pretty decent job and I have back them up with a multimeter. This does not give voltage, it just gives a red yellow or green reading. After testing about 20 batteries and verifying it with my multi meter, I trust these little testers. The one thing I like about him is that they actually put a little bit of a load on the battery. This gives a more accurate reading.

no more guessing
I bought this 4 pack of testers for myself and my 3 children. It is very easy to use on all types of batteries including the small button type.

Absolutely great!! Takes all the guess work out of batteries.
I wasn't expecting much for the price, but they're honestly GREAT! The construction is a little flimsy, but for the price I don't know how it could get any better. I keep one at home and one at work. I gave the other two away as gifts. Where I work we can go through as many as 16AA batteries a day and we only partially discharge them. I usually take the spent ones home so they don't totally go to waste. With pockets full of batteries coming home you can imagine how hard it is to tell what's good and what's bad. This thing ABSOLUTELY takes the guess work out. It also helps me easily identify problems with my rechargebles.

Inexpensive Battery Checker - Works but...
First off, these battery testers are cheap and they do work. However, the lack of a spring operated slide and battery groove or other means of keeping the battery in place makes testing a battery more awkward then it should be.With one hand to hold the tester, and your second hand holding the battery in place (it won't easily stay in place on it's own), you quickly discover that the retractable arm that makes contact with the battery's second terminal does not spring into place. Instead you need to use your third hand to push it into place. No third hand? You can always let go of the battery, try to balance it in place as you push the arm into place. However, expect to drop the battery once or more as you perfect your technique.Yes, it works but I might look for something different and pay somewhat more if I were shopping for this again.

These really work, on any battery that will fit between the positive and negative.
VERY HANDY YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR LIFE IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE FINDING BATTERIES. Get this, it saves so much money. I would go crazy between sons Xbox controllers and boyfriends flashlights. This saves me so much money.

makes a good stocking stuffer or grab bag gift
We have been using a Micronta Battery Checker from Radio Shack for 35 years now, needless to add, they don't make them anymore. We needed some stocking stuffers for various band members, something practical, easy to use, for both males and females. Ordinarily, these BT-168 Battery Testers retail for about five bucks apiece, we managed to finagle a deal whereby we purchased four units for ten dollars and some coin. Our musicians do not require digital metered testers, so we purchased these testers with the old-fashioned dial type meter, instead. Easy to read, makes a nice gift. We would have given them five stars, but one of the four units arrived with a lead which worked itself loose during shipment. Easily fixed, we soldered the lead back in place in less than five minutes. Problem solved - which is one of the reasons why people hate us so much.

Not a quality product
The product works as advertised but the construction of the item is cheap. Because it will not get a ton of use the unit will be acceptable. When you are searching for the item find the lowest priced one because the price varies depending on what site you are on. The cheapest price will be what the item is worth. I am disappointed in the quality.
