Comfort and Sizing
I loovveee this boot. ! I was in a black softer boot for a week and finally got this in today. It’s so much lighter and easier to walk in and much more comfortable. I actually bout a medium and a small because the sizes got mixed reviews. I wear an 8 tennis shoe and the small was way too short. My big toe hung off the edge. The medium fits perfectly! I’m so glad I went with the elite. It’s sure easy to put on and off. I would definitely recommend if you’re having to have to wear one for a while!

Good for 5th metarsal avulsion fracture after 4 weeks in standard aircast
So glad I got this. I still have probably a month in the aircast. The Ortho gave me the standard boot and at my height 5 ft 4" that was way too tall and restrictive by week 4-5 to walk 7-10k. It does provide better support and stability for the ankle, but right now at week 6 my ankle tendons don't need as much immobilization. I got the short one for avulsion fracture of the 5th metarsal. And it is great because it is lighter and doesn't hinder the calf muscle movement. The quality is as good as the standard one I got from the doc. However, the air bladder doesn't have a locking mechanism like the standard one.

Read here for a tip to make this good boot great
I sprained my ankle about 10 weeks ago at the gym. Crutches for about a week of armpit tearing fun. Fast forward and I reinjured the same ankle while lifting everything we own during a move. Day two of the crutches and it was time to find an alternative. I believe this boot sped up the recovery through protection and limitation of movement. Personally, I saw the greatest recovery at night while sleeping with the boot on. My reinjury took a bit longer to heal because it was so much more extensive (45,000 steps on the ankle with no protection after the sprain to get the move completed) but without the boot I'm sure I would have been much slower. Wear the boot at night. It's itchy. It's uncomfortable. It's necessary. By the time day 4 passes, you can have the sock off four an hour and still feel every thread. It's almost maddening! But...I am grateful for it. I was black (normally pale white) and bruised from the bottom of my heel to the bottom of my calf. Day 5 of the boot and my swelling halved and was much, much less painful. So, what is the tip? The tip is not for day one or two. When you are putting very little weight on the boot and walking gingerly (I used a crutches with the boot for two days, then one crutch for another two days, then very limited walking for two more days, and then trimmed 3 trees and tore apart a deck and clocked 20k steps the next) you don't feel the problem. The problem is, the boot is meant to fit either foot and it is completely flat inside. After you start putting weight on the boot and actually walking with it, your feet will scream in agony because there is no support. The tip is, as soon as you start putting weight on the foot at all, remove the insert from your shoe (or orthotics) and slip that baby into the boot. Life saver. Foot saver. Do-List tackler. Also, unless you plan on haunting a castle for eternity and think a painful, awkward gait will provide a better effect, get the lift shoe to offset the boot. The offset shoe works best with a tennis shoe. When I tried it with a work boot, the work boot was too high with the lift, and too low without it. A low profile sole like chucks would be great with the lift. Also, prepare a clever response for the lift shoe. Everyone understands the boot, but the lift shoe will get lots of attention and questions. If it's your right foot, or you have a clutch, please don't drive with it. I wasn't dumb enough to try it ;0 but the lack of sensory feedback or ankle movement may lead to erratic over-breaking or uncharacteristically slow acceleration from traffic lights. And, it's probably dangerous.

Excellent Support & Comfort at One-Third the Medical Price
I bought this walking boot for foot fractures, and it has been working really well so far. The air bladder system is one of the best features—it allows you to adjust the tightness easily, giving a snug and secure fit. Once inflated, it provides excellent support around the heel and ankle, which really helps stabilize the injury and makes walking feel much safer. The biggest advantage, though, is the price. If you get a similar boot through a doctor’s office, it can easily cost around $250. Getting this on Amazon for about $70 is a huge savings for essentially the same function and support. Overall, this is a great value purchase—solid support, adjustable comfort, and a much better price than going through medical providers. Highly recommend if you need a reliable fracture boot without overpaying.

Best Overall Boot
After being in a few different walking boots over the years this on was by far the best overall. Comfortable, lightweight and very supportive. Wish I would have tried this one before.

Super comfy and light weight. Much better than the one you get from the hospital.

Yep. Wore it for 2 months
I’m glad I researched and bought the most lightweight boot I could. I ended up being non-weight-bearing and on crutches for eight+ weeks. This was my boot. While I had a love-hate relationship, I do recommend this one. Pros: It’s lightweight and you can adjust this and make it comfortable for you. This is helpful as swelling changes, healing/discomfort change. I used to deflate a bit at night, for example. It’s easy to adjust and there are online videos of Physical Therapist showing how to put it on. It’s lightweight too. Considerably lighter than the black one that everyone gets. But it’s more expensive. It was worth the extra cost for me. And since the hospital was going to charge me $1200 for the black boot I felt it was ok to splurge a bit on my broken ankle. Cons: they use some ridiculously cheap & tiny Velcro to secure the top pad in the boot. Almost immediately, I accidentally pulled it the pad out when adjusting. I could still tuck the pad in, but it never stuck again and would work its way out. That was an annoyance considering the price. I could’ve solved it with some little Velcro stickers myself, but never did. If you’re going to be mobilized for a while, the Aircast is a smart way to go. You have stability, comfort, it breathes well, and looks great with extra wide leg jeans ;-)

Great help
I ordered this to be delivered to Borneo as I broke my foot whilst on a long holiday. I had been fitted with a plaster of Paris cast. The boot arrived 24 hours early and made such a difference. My ankle was already stiff from the lack of movement. The air sacs help to hold my foot securely and I was able to walk more normally. I slept better because I was able to take the walker off at night and able to exercise my ankle a little
