Product description ------------------- PREMIUM RAW PRE- WASHED FONIO GRAIN OVERVIEW . Rare Ancient Africa naturally grown gluten-Free grain belonging to the millet family. Fonio is high minerals, s and amino s content particularly Cystine & Methionine. Fonio is easily digestible, high in Fibre and low Glycaemic index. . It is easy to cook, brilliant as a main or side dish, use as cereal in the form of porridge, added to baked goods, in salads and soups . We source our Fonio from local farmers whiles ensuring sustainability and fair price. Buying our products provides sustainable income for our partners which helps to improve their livelihood. DIRECTION. . Toast ½ cup of Fonio grain in a skillet or non-stick pan on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Mix salt, 1 teaspoon of oil and s(optional) in water or stock and set aside ¼ of the mixture. Slowly add the remaining ¾ of the mixture of the water or stock to the Fonio in the pan whiles stirring until all liquid has been absorbed. Sprinkle the remaining ¼ of the water or stock onto the Fonio in the pan to generate steam. Cover and cook for 1-2 minutes, remove from heat and let it sit aside covered for 5-10 minutes. Separate the cooked grain with a fork, service hot or cold. .STORAGE. . Store in an airtight container away from direct sunlight.
